Patch 26.20 Tier List Update Summary

This is the Patch 26.20 tier list, and it keeps updating as new ranked games come in. It's the Worlds patch, so Riot aimed most of its changes at pro play. Mordekaiser is the only God Tier pick Riot touched. Realm of Death [R] comes back twenty seconds sooner at rank one, and he climbs out of Tier 1 to sit with Malphite and Nasus at the top of the lane. Garen and Yone both drop to Tier 1 there, behind Teemo. Nothing changed in the jungle: Cho'Gath, Wukong and Briar, with a freshly buffed Lillia first in Tier 1. In mid lane, Vex takes Lux's spot beside Yone and Fizz. Twitch falls to Tier 2 in bot lane, which leaves Jinx and Tristana as its only God Tier picks, and Yunara follows him down after three separate nerfs. Thresh, Leona and Blitzcrank stay on top in support (Lux is a step behind them, first in Tier 1).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best champion in Patch 26.20?

Cho'Gath. He's the best jungler on Patch 26.20 without a single change in the patch notes. Malphite, first in top lane, is the closest thing to him in any other role. See the God Tier List above for the full role-by-role breakdown.

Is this the final tier list for Patch 26.20?

No. It updates automatically through Patch 26.20: the numbers refresh every few hours and the rankings move as new ranked games come in. The address never changes, so the page you bookmark stays current.

Where does this tier list get its data?

From our own ranked solo queue match data. We collect games directly rather than reading a third-party site, which is why a few placements here move before the wider consensus does. We also count a much wider slice of the ladder than most lists do, Silver through Challenger instead of Emerald and above, so the rankings describe the games most people are actually in. That data is read alongside hands-on solo queue experience rather than published as a raw win rate ranking.

Which regions does this tier list cover?

One list built from ranked solo queue games on North America, EU West, Korea, Vietnam and Singapore. It's the same list whatever server you play on, EU Nordic & East, Brazil and Turkey included, so there's no separate regional version to go looking for.

What does God Tier mean?

God Tier is reserved for champions with the highest influence on a game who are good in almost every situation, and are generally the easiest picks to gain LP with. It's kept intentionally exclusive, usually three or four picks per role at most. See Tier List Descriptions below for the full breakdown of every tier.

How often is the tier list updated?

Every League of Legends patch, and more than once within a patch. The hub page you're reading is updated in place, so the URL never changes. Bookmark it instead of a specific patch's post.

Why doesn't this match win-rate websites?

Win rate is one input, not the only one. This list also weighs pick rate, high-ELO and professional play, and hands-on solo queue experience, and win rate alone is never the end-all criteria for a champion's tier. Because we collect our own games across a wider range of divisions, a pick that's climbing will often show up here before it shows up elsewhere, and a champion that only looks strong in the top few percent of the ladder won't get carried up this list by it.

Is this tier list for Solo Queue?

Yes, this is specifically a Solo Queue tier list, not a professional-play or ARAM tier list.

Which ranks does this tier list apply to?

Silver through Challenger, and that's the actual range of games behind it rather than an estimate. A lot of tier lists only count Emerald and above, which is roughly one ranked player in six, and that cut quietly favors champions who reward mechanical execution over champions who just win games. Ours is weighted toward the average experienced player instead. It's still usable at the top of the ladder, but the higher you climb the more matchups come down to champion-specific mastery rather than general tier strength.

League of Legends Tier List Descriptions

The NerfPlz League of Legends Tier List is the permanent, bookmarkable home of our Solo Queue rankings. It's been running continuously since 2011, and it's updated in place every patch rather than replaced by a new post. Silver through Challenger is roughly four out of every five ranked players, so what you see here reflects the games you're actually going to be in. We read that data alongside the same hands-on solo queue judgment we've always applied. It updates automatically through Patch 26.20 as new ranked games come in, always at this same address. See the Patch 26.20 prediction changelog for the day one forecast these rankings are being checked against.

We use God Tier instead of S-tier as a naming convention carried over from when this list started, and keep it intentionally exclusive: usually three or four picks per role. Champions just short of it sit at the top of Tier 1 instead.

God Tier: Almost impossible to keep down unless your team makes shutting them down a priority. If the player is actually good on the champion, the game is often already decided.

Tier 1: Consistently strong with a real advantage over most other champions. Even a rough game still leaves their team a real shot at a comeback through their late-game utility.

Tier 2: The balanced tier Riot generally designs around: strong picks with real weaknesses, not overpowered.

Tier 3: Still capable, but need more snowballing to get rolling, and an early lead can still be turned with a mistake or two.

Tier 4: Underpowered relative to their effort. They need an early lead to function, and a comeback with one of these champions behind is rare.
