LoL Game Modes Right Now

Four rotating modes are live in League of Legends right now: ARAM: Mayhem, Arena, League Classic and Ranked 5s. None of them has an end date yet.

ARAM: Mayhem art from the League client

Live now

ARAM: Mayhem

ARAM with Augments: you pick one at the start and another at levels 3, 7, 11 and 15, and you can only choose them while you're dead.

Started (the day Patch 25.21 went live), 342 days ago.

Ends No end date announced

“ARAM: Mayhem will stick around until further notice.” Riot support: ARAM: Mayhem

Riot first said it would be live through 25.24, then kept it. The client stopped flagging its queue as limited-time in Patch 26.3.

Arena art from the League client

Live now

Arena

Eight teams of two fight short rounds in small arenas, picking Augments between rounds until one duo is left.

Started (the day Patch 25.13 went live), 461 days ago.

Ends No end date announced

“For the foreseeable future, Arena will be embracing Bravery and Crowd Favorites every Wednesday.” Patch 26.16 notes

The promised year ran out in June 2026 and Arena stayed. Riot hasn't put an end date on it since.

League Classic art from the League client

Live now

League Classic

A separate take on early League, with classic champion kits, old items and the original Runes and Masteries. It launched with 60 champions and Riot is adding more from the same years.

Started , 62 days ago.

Ends No end date announced

“Our newest (oldest) game mode is coming to a server near you!” Patch 26.15 notes

The Classic Pass ended on September 22, 2026. That was the pass, not the mode, which is still getting its own section in the patch notes.

Ranked 5s art from the League client

Live now

Ranked 5s

Ranked for a full team of five, played in Tournament Draft, with no restrictions on who can queue together and its own rewards.

Started (the day Patch 26.18 went live), 19 days ago.

Ends No end date announced

“You’ll have another chance to earn Ranked 5s rewards after this September through December run.” Riot dev update, Sep 8, 2026

Riot says this run lasts through December but hasn't given an end date.

Coming next: Riot hasn't announced another rotating mode in any patch notes, support article or dev update through September 26, 2026, and the PBE game files don't have a new mode queue either.

Every run since 2024

20 runs of rotating modes, newest first. It also keeps the 2023 run of Nexus Blitz, the most recent for that mode.

Where the dates come from

Start and end dates are Riot's, from the patch notes and the Events articles on Riot's support site, and each row links the page it came from. When Riot only named a patch, the date is that patch's release day. The artwork is each mode's own, from the game client's files. The game-files lines under each mode come from the client's own queue list, patch by patch back to 14.1. Live patch: 26.19. Summoner's Rift, ARAM and Swiftplay never leave the client, so they aren't listed.
