An enchanter with a Smite, clearing camps out of a campfire instead of a jungle item's raw damage. Jungle Milio is exactly as risky as it sounds, and exactly as fun when it works.
Jungle Milio is a pick nobody has actually tried in Ranked Solo/Duo, and for a very honest reason: he has almost no real clear damage. But Cozy Campfire [W] heals anyone standing in it, including Milio himself, and that alone is enough sustain to out-tank a slow clear long enough to reach the point where Warm Hugs [E] and Breath of Life [R] start winning fights his teammates could never win alone.
So how does this actually work?
Weird Pick #164
Jungle Milio
An enchanter with a Smite, clearing camps out of a campfire instead of a jungle item's raw damage. Jungle Milio is exactly as risky as it sounds, and exactly as fun when it works.
Jungle Milio is a pick almost nobody has actually tried in Ranked Solo/Duo, and for a very honest reason: he has almost no real clear damage. How to Play Jungle Milio
- Abilities
- Q, W, E to start, then prioritize Q > W > E, taking R whenever available
- Summoner Spells
- Starting Items
- Strategy
- Drop Cozy Campfire [W] on top of every camp before pulling it so the healing offsets the slow clear, path through the easiest camps first rather than the ones a real jungler would prioritize, and gank by shielding whichever ally already committed rather than trying to start the fight yourself
- Core Items
Jungle Milio Runes Setup
When to Pick This
Jungle Milio is at his best when the rest of your team already has enough damage and just needs someone who can keep them alive and buffed rather than another source of burst. A comp built around a hyper-scaling carry or two, with a jungler free to babysit fights instead of starting them, gets far more out of Warm Hugs [E] and Breath of Life [R] than it would out of a normal damage-focused jungler.
He's also only worth trying against a passive or farming-focused enemy jungler, since the clear is genuinely slow and an early invade punishes it hard. If the enemy jungler shows no interest in contesting the first few camps, that window is exactly what this pick needs to survive into the midgame.
How It Works
Cozy Campfire Turns The Jungle Into Free Sustain
Cozy Campfire [W] heals anyone standing in it, including Milio himself, so dropping it on top of a camp before pulling turns an otherwise agonizingly slow clear into something survivable. It isn't real jungle-item healing, but it's enough to offset the low damage long enough to reach the camps that matter.
Ultra Mega Fire Kick Still Knocks Up And Damages Camps
Q hits and knocks back everything in a line, monsters included, for real magic damage, giving Milio the one piece of actual AoE clear power in his kit. The same knock-up and damage carries over cleanly into a gank, so it's doing real work on both sides of the jungle role.
Ganks That Buff Instead Of Burst
Warm Hugs [E] grants bonus attack range and lower ability costs to whichever ally he shields, letting their own damage close out a gank Milio could never finish alone. Breath of Life [R] goes even further in a full fight, cleansing crowd control and healing the whole team at once to turn a losing engage into a won one.
Potential Pitfalls
The Clear Is Legitimately Slow And Dangerous
Milio has no real AoE burst and no lifesteal-style healing on monsters beyond the campfire zone, so early camps take noticeably longer than they would for a normal jungler. An enemy jungler willing to invade before level three punishes this pick hard, and there's very little Milio can do about it once it happens.
Zero Dueling Power If Caught Alone
Milio has no way to actually win a 1v1 against an enemy jungler who catches him mid-clear. This entire pick lives or dies on whether the enemy jungler leaves him alone long enough to reach the point in the game where his ganks and teamfight utility start mattering more than his complete lack of a threat level.
Jungle Milio Conclusions
Jungle Milio isn't trying to out-clear or out-duel a real jungler, and judging the pick by that standard misses why it can still work. He wins games by keeping a hyper-scaling team alive long enough to matter and by turning a losing teamfight into a won one with a single well-timed ultimate. Pair him with a team that has real carries and a jungler matchup that isn't looking to invade, and this weird pick starts looking like a legitimate support-jungle hybrid with a very unusual amount of risk attached.
