Riot's table carries a warning. Riot has flagged its VALORANT code list as out of date, because a bug is making some VALORANT errors show up wrong. If the steps here don't match what you're seeing, Riot suggests a support ticket.

Is it you or Riot? If a lot of players got the same code at once, it's likely the servers. Check Riot's service status page for VALORANT before you start reinstalling things.

What Riot says about 19

Riot's VALORANT table treats every code from 8 to 21 as a Riot Client problem and gives them one fix, a client restart. VAL 19 is in that block. There's no separate explanation for 19 in Riot's documentation, so be wary of guides that claim a precise cause for it.

Why the restart has to be a full one

The Riot Client lives on in the system tray after you close its window, and VALORANT talks to that background process. A real restart means exiting from the tray icon, or ending RiotClientServices.exe in Task Manager, so the next launch starts from scratch.

When a full restart doesn't clear VAL 19, look for a Riot outage first (status page, support site banner or the VALORANT Discord). If there's none, open a ticket and mention the code. Riot currently flags its own table as out of date, so support may know something the table doesn't.

Riot's fix, in Riot's order

  1. Restart the Riot Client

    Close VALORANT, right-click the Riot Client's tray icon and pick Exit. If you can't find the icon, open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc and end RiotClientServices.exe. Start the client again and press Play.

  2. Send Riot a support ticket

    If the steps above don't clear it, open a ticket with Riot Player Support from the VALORANT support site and include the exact code you saw. Riot can see account-side problems that you can't.
