What it means

VALORANT couldn't fetch the list of content your account owns. Riot's internal name for this is CapEntitlementsFetchError.

What to try first

Restart the Riot Client. If VAL 68 is still there, check Riot's support site banners for an outage.

Riot's table carries a warning. Riot has flagged its VALORANT code list as out of date, because a bug is making some VALORANT errors show up wrong. If the steps here don't match what you're seeing, Riot suggests a support ticket.

Is it you or Riot? If a lot of players got the same code at once, it's likely the servers. Check Riot's service status page for VALORANT before you start reinstalling things.

Your inventory didn't load

VAL 68 is listed under CapEntitlementsFetchError. Entitlements are what your account owns, so agents, skins and the rest of your collection. Riot's table says VALORANT can't fetch them and groups 68 with 69 and 70, which cover your wallet and the store offers.

Riot's fix runs in three stages. Restart the Riot Client. If that fails, check the support site banners for a known problem. If there isn't one, send a ticket.

Check the letters: VAL or VAN

There's also a VAN 68, a Vanguard code about a lost session, with a long fix list that includes reinstalling Vanguard. None of that applies here. If your popup said VAN 68, use the VAN 68 page.

Riot's fix, in Riot's order

  1. Restart the Riot Client

    Close VALORANT, right-click the Riot Client's tray icon and pick Exit. If you can't find the icon, open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc and end RiotClientServices.exe. Start the client again and press Play.

  2. Look for a known outage

    When the fault is on Riot's side, it says so in a banner across the top of its support site and on the official VALORANT Discord. Riot's service status page lists open incidents too. If one matches, nothing on your end will clear it, so wait for the fix.

  3. Send Riot a support ticket

    If the steps above don't clear it, open a ticket with Riot Player Support from the VALORANT support site and include the exact code you saw. Riot can see account-side problems that you can't.
