"Access to your account is paused": a parent turned this game off

Access to your account is pausedWhat it means
Riot has determined you're under age. Your parent or guardian verified their own age and then chose to disable your access to this game.
What to try first
Talk to the parent or guardian who set it up. They're the only ones who can change it.
Is it you or Riot? If lots of players are hitting this at once, it's probably the servers. Check League server status before you start reinstalling things.
Who paused it
Three things have to be true before you see this message, according to Riot's Age Verification article (updated May 31, 2026). Riot has you down as an underage player. A parent or guardian of yours has already proved their own age to Riot, and after that they switched this game off for your account. It's pretty much a parental control doing its job. Nothing's wrong with your PC. Reinstalling won't touch it (the block comes from a choice your parent made on your account).
The setting lives in Riot's Parent Portal, which parents reach through the link Riot emails them during verification. That's where they manage what their child's account can do. (Lost the email? A parent can ask Riot to send a new link.)
Getting back in
If you want to play, talk it through with the parent or guardian who set it up. The switch is theirs, and Riot won't flip it for you. Otherwise Riot holds on to the account for you. Once you turn 18, you can verify your own age and get back in.
A verification that went wrong is different. If you think the check itself broke, send Riot a ticket and file it under the age verification and parental approval category so it reaches the right team.
