Instructions and Caveats:
- Champions in BOLD I will talk about shortly
- Champions UNDERLINED may be over/undervalued, but aren't/haven't played enough for me to make a better judgement.
- Within each tier the champions are strongest from left to right, but within a tier each champion's strength is relatively close. This is especially true for Tiers 2 and 3 where these champions are ALL highly playable and player dependent on how strong they are in-game.
- This tier list takes data from ALL players; however, since the majority of players fall in the first three tiers, the majority of data points will come from there.
- Win Rates are important in analyzing each champion's strength, but are not the end-all criteria for any champion's position.
- The creator of this list is diamond, so there may be some personal bias towards higher tier play on certain champions.
Champion Explanations
- Ashe [Tier 1 ADC] - Some of you are wondering about Ashe, who you seldom see in the LCS due to her lack of escapes. However, in the current solo queue meta full of high CC tanks available for peel and initiation, Ashe does very well as a kite and long range initiator type of ADC.
- Bard [Tier 3 Support] - The buffs on him were pretty substantial this time around, and he's slowly rising to be a viable support. I think he's still fairly weak at the moment simply due to lack of coordination and understanding, but he's coming around slowly.
- Blitzcrank [Tier 2 Support] - Blitzcrank used to be a high reward, low risk champion who could easily zone in and out via his W. However, now that it nails him with a 30% slow at the end, he can no longer do prolonged chases on squishier supports while proccing his ultimate's passive the whole time. Huge nerf to what really made him strong. His core abilities are still intact, but the underlying "OP" part of him was targeted very well.
- Cho'Gath [God Tier Mid] - Cho'gath mid is pretty much the safest and simultaneously the most aggressive mid laner in the game at the moment. Although not that easy to land his spells early, he can zone very well. Additionally, once teamfights come around it becomes difficult to dodge all the rest of the things flying at you. This makes his AOE CC's extremely potent.
- Darius [Tier 2 Top] - Darius' buffs this time around seem to be having very little impact on his success as a top laner at the moment. I think he's still balanced.
- Evelynn [Tier 2 Jungle] - Evelynn jungle is definitely viable now. Unfortunately...
- Fizz [Tier 3 Jungle] - After substantial nerfs to Fizz's ability to auto things to death, he's a subpar jungler now. Although he can still do his job in the hands of a good Fizz, let's be honest...you've probably never seen one.
- Garen [Tier 2 Top] - Similar to Darius, a bit surprised that his buff didn't affect him. It sounded fairly large on the surface.
- Gragas [Tier 1 Jungle] - Gragas is an excellent jungler at the moment and trades well in prolonged fights early. His initiation is also very good. There are definitely plenty of junglers that rank above him though. Even though he works I still find reluctance picking him over someone like Volibear who's almost always available.
- Hecarim [Tier 1 Jungle] - Nerfs to Hecarim this time around have made his somewhat weaker jungle (compare to his top) even weaker as he's constantly taking damage.
- Heimerdinger [Tier 1 Top] - This many patches in a row of data can't be wrong right? Although he still has a relatively low playrate, the meta continuously shifts towards his favorite teamfights, high CC, localized fights. With so many lock-down champions in play at the moment, Heimerdinger can really dish the pain against enemy teams.
- Nunu [Tier 1 Jungle] - Again, with a low playrate but strongly spiking win rate, Nunu is surprisingly dexterous in the jungle. His Q sustain is extremely high and allows him to essentially jungle without using any pots. Additionally, his naturally tanky stature makes great use of Cinderhulk and allows him to get overwhelmingly big. However, in a teamfight he's still a bit lackluster.
- Quinn [Tier 1 ADC] - Quinn's buffs have made her fairly strong right now. She also beats down almost every AD carry in lane using her blind ability. This combined with the rising popularity of Vayne makes Quinn very strong, as Quinn's CC absolutely stomps her.
- Sejuani [God Tier Jungle] - Despite nerfs on her personally and on Cinderhulk, she remains very strong.
- Sion [God Tier Top/Tier 1 Jungle] - With nerfs on Cinderhulk, Sion's comparably getting stronger as his shield's effective power is increased vs his fellow tanks.

I find it really weird to see Quinn ADC higher then Quinn top
ReplyDeleteAh i remember when cho was teir 3 on the list.
ReplyDeleteIMO eve is tier 1 worthy now
ReplyDeleteWell aint safe to have Quinn top in a comp...most of the time i see double ADC comp its so fragile...
ReplyDeletePart of what makes her so strong is that in the current meta I can't really think of any champ that does particularly well against her. She does very well against mobile champs (current mid meta), and she has a very high impact on team fights. Also a lot of her strengths are utility so she's still very strong even if she's somehow behind early.
ReplyDeleteAny thoughts on Nidalee top? Her winrate drops from 50% to 45%. I think that the nerf is a lot of health...
ReplyDeleteI think Vayne is getting popular because of all the tanks being in the Meta atm.
ReplyDeleteI think Quinn top should get a little bump up.
ReplyDeleteKennen support in list? Where?
ReplyDeleteUrgot tier 2?
ReplyDeleteFinally my favorite ADC is in her rightful place! Quinn for the win! :D
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am not sure why cho'gath or morgana are mid lane gods.. They can neither beat Malzahar, Swain, Diana or Brand or dish out as much damage or zone opponents that well.
Hi, I would like to know why is Tristana rated so low. With the current tank meta where games tend to get to late, she seems a pretty strong pick to me. She has really long range, a AS modifier which can almost bring to the cap, a jump with reset and a ranged AOE Lee Sin ult in case things go wrong. Building BotRK + LW on her is a tank melter along with the Q and passive.
ReplyDeleteBesides, her laning phase is not that wrong. She can push/counter push pretty easily, has ok trades with E+Q and a jump for safety. Personally, she's my go-to ADC if I'm forced to that position.
Good updates. But I have some questions.
ReplyDeleteWhy is morgana not god tier support too ?(I strongly agree over her mid placement)
Still think Orianna and Syndra should be higher.
Can we have explanation on Corki's drop ? Also I think Vayne and Kog should be higher in this tank meta (at least higher then Ez and Lucian).
Finally i just noticed Malzahar is tier 2 at top. Is it ad Malzahar ? And how do you build him ?
The problem with Tristana is that by the time she becomes useful to the team, the other team would have usually taken at least one inhibitor tower. Yes she has her W and her ult as escape but she usually gets behind in the laning phase.
ReplyDeleteMorgana is a very safe pick. Although it is hard for her to get kills on her own in lane, she is unkillable in lane and provides a high amount of utility during teamfights. She can also push her lane very fast and roam to snowball other lanes. Also some people are surprised by the Morgana damage in lane as they usually only see her as support.
ReplyDeleteTier 4 leave it for the Koreans ;)
ReplyDeleteI think this nerf has hit Nidalee in general very hard. Not been trying her at top. But i can confirm her mid and jungle feel harder now.
ReplyDeleteWould you write a separate article on Eve? Just curious as to why she given the list of nerfs that she's had throughout her history. First she was reworked and played mid/jungle, then she was just played solely as a jungler and now you barely see her around.
ReplyDeleteI actually want to understand why champs like Elise and Evelynn got nerfed pretty badly. Even though they were annoying during their time of reign, they weren't OP per se. So many nerfs later, people complain they were weak and useless. And then suddenly in S4/S5, we see some Elise buffs that didn't justify her nerfs in S4 well enough. And this Evelynn buff doesn't seem to look much on the surface.
id say she gets "countered" by champs that can out scale her. Karthus and Vlad are good examples of this. Morg can do nothing to counter the weak early game of these champs.
ReplyDeleteAlso ad champs. That black sheild wont do shit vs death mark
Being a very strong pick doesn't mean 0 counterplay. And part of why she is so strong is that she doesn't need to get kills to be useful. A 0-10 Morgana can still be useful in a team fight just by dint of her ult and binding. And yeah a zed will do well against her, if he isn't binded, but she can out farm him, push him under tower and then roam. When I say counter I mean a champion that blocks everything you do. For example a garden vs a riven, silence and tank. Riven literally has no ability to outplay that. A Morgana can outplay and beat a zed.
ReplyDeleteUrgod Rises
ReplyDeleteSSJ, there might be an error in the movement history section: it says God Tier Falling: Sejuani (Top) in the god tier section, but I don't believe sejuani top is even on this list.
ReplyDeleteI love Eve :D. I agree on having an article explaining her. I feel like the buffs weren't crazy. But, they will increase her clear speed, which could help her out.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest issue for Eve is a clear build. I just can't figure out what the best thing to do for her is.
I concur with your observations
ReplyDeleteI was thinking AP Malzahar, I'm not fully convinced AD Malzahar is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteMorgana as a support isn't quite the same as her mid lane, since part of her strength is her insane waveclear and sustain.
Nothing particular about Corki, he's just balanced at the moment. Poke damage doesn't do as much against higher HP targets.
Where's mid lane Gangplank? Supposedly the Murumana + Statikk Shiv + Crit build has quite the burst damage, might be deserving of a Tier 3.
ReplyDeleteTy for the answers :D
ReplyDeleteThank you SSJ for putting amumu where he rightfully belongs. I'm on an eight game win streak with only amumu jungle. He gets so tanky and can 1v3 the enemy team at full build (provided you build correctly) and his ganks are great too if you get chilling smite
ReplyDeleteCan anybody tell me why is Morde top in Tier 3 ?
ReplyDeleteHave been playing him lately against the popular squishy tops and you just need to poke them with E, you can even run ghost with flash and use ghost to roam if you want.
I think urgot top should be higher. Ever since his buffs he has seen more play and i saw that he is very viable now.
ReplyDeletesome roles for champions are better than others. Yi is an example.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I heard- and don't quote me on this. Evelyn was op in LOW ELO back in the days pre-nerf but was hardly seen any plays in LCS and all. So Rito was like "Man fuck this champ" and nerf'd her even harder, making her unplayable in Low Elo and she already barely saw any plays in higher elo
ReplyDeleteat least! the donger got some love, but even if you put him in godtier, nobody else would play it, only heimer mains, when you see one, dont gank it unless you want to give a double :P
ReplyDeleteSorry but I really believe Kassadin should at least be Tier 2, he can counter most mages in the game and in lane due to his Q magic shield, his mobility is still decent so he can continue to gap closer and kill squishes. He can also sustain himself in the laning phase using flask which is the toughest part of the game for a Kassadin.
ReplyDeleteI mean the only reason why I'm making this post anyway is because going 32-1-10 as Kassadin should say something about how he should be placed in the mid lane. I mean you don't see Jannas and Sorakas even coming close to getting 32 kills, do you?
Please put Kassadin higher, thanks. I don't particularly care about his top lane, but that'd probably be at least tier 3 now as well.
I think lack of escape is the only reason honestly. Usually when junglers see that, they'll just camp top. But proper warding coverage kind of fixes that if they don't get rid of the wards.
ReplyDeleteI've seen how Morde works max'ing W and it's pretty interesting honestly.
GP is supposed to be getting a rework/champion update in the near future, so that might not remain the case. :/
ReplyDeleteI just realized you don't have a mid line Lee Sin on your list. I've have seen plenty of mid lane Lee, almost as much as Mid Riven. He usually will dominate in lane as well. So why no listing?
ReplyDelete#BronzeLife ...
ReplyDeleteKidding but lets start with your first mistake: Jannas and Sorakas are supports so ofc they will never come no where near 32 kills.
Second, his base dmg on Q is around 170 and E is 180. Combined with the fact that your E is the only aoe/waveclear spell and it relies on nearby spellcasts which makes it so worthless if your trying to clear that juicy bot lane wave.
And third, his abilities scale very well into late game with the 70% scaling (60 percent on W but Lich Bane makes up for it), however that means you gotta farm well and survive until late game and if your playing against a team with half a brain they will probably try to end the game before that. But if you do somehow get to late game then consider it GG but during early/mid game your team will be in a 4v5 situation.
Source: Former Diamond 5 Kassadin Main.
I keep hearing about a Shaco rework...can anyone seriously tell me when its coming? Next patch? Next season? Never? I've been waiting for so long...
ReplyDeleteShyvana is in bold and you don't give an explanation. Please fix.
ReplyDeleteSo you're saying Kassadin belongs in tier 4? That's quite pitiful seeing that from a "Former Diamond 5 Kassadin Main." It's so disgusting lol.
ReplyDeleteJanna and Soraka are in Tier 4 on this list for the mid lane along with Kassadin.. so they're building AP just like Kassadin would. They wouldn't be supports like you're saying, so I guess that's an error on your part..
Who the hell cares what the base damage is when you're going to be building pure AP on Kassadin in the first place since Kassadin's job is to assassinate with those 0.7 AP ratios on his Q and E.
And your last statement about it being a 4v5 until late game is also flawed, it's always going to be a 5v5 if a Kassadin can play well, get ganks, and manage to roam and get kills.
At least post your user so I can actually believe that you're a Former Diamond 5 Kassadin main, because anybody can play a champion at least 10 times and pretend that they main the champ, which is probably the amount of times I've gotten fed as Kassadin, almost never died, and carried my team going full glass cannon with this guy.
Where is the Rumble mid/jungle. Rumble mid is actually decent vs many matchups and after the first clear works fairly good in the jungle if you go cinderhulk. His ganks are actually really good once he hits 6 with a speed boost, ranged aoe slow, and another slow with low cooldown. He isn't tier 1 or 2 but he is definitely better than most of your tier 3's.
ReplyDeleteThey are supportive champs, just like Lulu mid...
ReplyDeleteElise is the best jungler... in the first 10 minutes.
ReplyDeleteits the article on her, read the main page
ReplyDeleteanyone wanna give me a solid build on hecarim top and how to teamfight with him?
ReplyDeleteWas Rek'Sai affected by her nerfs?
ReplyDeleteBeen playing him recently in mid but haven't tried him top.
ReplyDeleteWhich lane do u think is the best for him?
Been having success with him too.
ReplyDeleteHow so you build him?
Full tank or some damage?
ssj how viable is eve?i was eve main last season is it worth to start and play only her again?
ReplyDeleteWhere is Viktor? O_o
ReplyDeleteSecret OP (aka freelo) - so he should be hidden some where around tier 2 as "balanced" .
ReplyDeleteJust kidding, but he is squishy and does not have some dashes to escape/gank so usually he only excels in a few good hands. His damage is high though - the ulti, the core, the Q poke with shield and even free lich bane ...
is top kha'zix a good pick ? i can't see him on the list
ReplyDeleteWhat about Fizz AP now ? He's more viable now
ReplyDeletePS: Kassadin still tier 4 xD
as a main fizz i find this post very offensive :C
ReplyDeleteGuys, 1 simple thing - why the f... homeguards are still ON after tp to ward or something else? It really pisses me of when i have no reply to guy who run on my lane like retard from the bushes (yes i'm talking to you Hecarim). As the name speaks = HOME and GUARD, not "OpBoostFreeDouble".
ReplyDeleteDonger main here, i believe he is better mid because he isn't to far away from his turret when pushing meaning he can push freely and he has more control over the overall lane. But one thing that makes top better in a way is that he is quite easily countered in mid where as top can can counter quite alot. My advice would be to prioritise mid but try not to first pick him as someone liek ziggs can crap on him in lane
ReplyDeletei don't understand the buff on blind effect (quinn and teemo)
ReplyDeletecould someone explain pls?
4 some reason i am winning my lane against a quinn top with nasus.
ReplyDelete#platequalsbronze
#loljk
but i am serious about me beating a quinn top with nasus.
because tp has a long cooldown?
ReplyDeleteyes the hecacopter is annoying, granted, but its not like the boost is really needed.
i don't think the buff was that significant.
ReplyDeletealso apparetly cinderhulk vi is now a thing
ReplyDelete@ why so serious well said
ReplyDelete@ zalith you really have no clue do you?
you're opinion is flawed :/ The diamond 5 kassadino main is right, and he's actually got a very unbiased opinion about kassadin. You aren't looking at it from the right perspective, basically although he has all the potential you're talking about anybody in the tiers above he perform their roles in a game better than kassadin, hence why he is there.
ReplyDeleteI go cinderhulk, thornmail, warmogs, abyssal, CDr boots, and liandries (the order of these items depends on how I'm doing and who is fed on the enemy team). Also, if the enemy team doesn't have a lot of AP, I might switch out abyssal for a zhonyas
ReplyDeletei have problem with homeguards bcs it's not only hecarim - Garen,Shyvanna,Jax,Irelia etc. You don't have to use your skill, not even a brain. And i don't know why you mentioned TP
ReplyDeleteEarlier if enemy started aa, and you hit blind spell before his aa landed - you get hit, and his next aa is blocked. Now blind checks at time it hits you.
ReplyDeleteIn a long time
ReplyDeleteId like to know how the tier list actually works and what does each tier mean.
ReplyDeleteIs it like God Tier : pick=win
T1 = GOOD!
T2= meh
T3= even moar meh
T4= who even plays these?
I mean for ranked obviously. Help is appreciated. I know SSJ says something but it is confusing.
If you can add an "Support Kennen" article... It will be awesome.
ReplyDeleteDont take all these people so seriously. Everybody's a critic on the internet.
ReplyDeleteWhat you said wasn't completely wrong. You won't see a Janna or Soraka go 30 0 in mid but the difference is that Soraka is always gonna be useful, her ult silence and her heals are always gonna have an impact, whether shes 0 10 0 in lane or if she has 5 cs in 10 minutes. Even Janna does a lot, with her speed boost, her knockups and her amazing disengage.
In contrast, Kassadin will almost always lose lane mid. And if he loses lane, that means he's pretty much useless until he gets a few items. By that time your enemy mid is gonna be pretty powerful too. Kassadin scales well but at the moment, his dmg is too low early (even late if you compare him to lategame Annie, Karthus or even Assassins like zed whos gonna one shot you even if you have 700 ap. So Kassadin is only good late game but no good or even decent team is gonna let you get there. Mid soraka and Janna still have utility. Kassadin doesn't. He either gets fed (which is super hard) or feeds.
God tier are exceptionally strong right now
ReplyDeleteTier one are very strong
Tier 2 can be quite strong but if so they usually require a lot more practice and experience to bring this out
Tier 3 Even with lots of practice it may not be worth it I say may as we have all seen mid jayce in high lvl play being awesome.
Tier 4 dont touch with a bargepole
Rito, why do you have to nerf my favorite fishy to the ground? ; - ;
ReplyDeleteSuper unreliable, there's really no reason to play it
ReplyDeleteWhen playing Cho'Gath mid do you go full AP or the standarad tanky build?
ReplyDeleteNerf bat to sion next patch also cho gath is the most frustrating thing to deal with in lane, he should have a tear of his own, call it frustrating tear
ReplyDeleteadd Cho mid cait adc braum supp urgot top shaco jgl
i play shaco alot, ik what the enemy team feels like when i as shaco hit lvl 6 and their amumu is still lvl 4
I was curious about this myself
ReplyDeleteJust rumors, heard ashe and ww reworks they just wont come.. at least for now
ReplyDeleteMost annoying top laner ive ever played against, worse than irelia
ReplyDeleteA mix depending on the situation. But he's generally more teamfight oriented due to his lockdown potential, so if you are falling behind, start building tanky.
ReplyDeleteI dont think new trist doesnt need Bork anymore unless ure replacing it with ur shiv to not waste 40% as because boots and shiv covers up ur AS along side with ur Q, but if u replace shiv with bork, youll lack crits and wave clear (although she has a good wave clear from E)
ReplyDeletesummary: new tristana isnt suited for tank melting
Idk about Morgana, but chogath beats anything in mid, and u cant say cho cant zone well
ReplyDeleteWoah tier 1 ap kog? I'm not seeing it, can someone explain this?
ReplyDeleteIt's banned almost every game in korea
ReplyDeleteExactly, they are spamming it, like he was a litte mf ninja support god.
ReplyDeleteShaco doesn't need one imo.
ReplyDeleteAshe is getting one soon, but WW doesn't
ReplyDeleteMid could be but jungle is definitely not.
ReplyDeleteIf i go mid i usually go full ap.
ReplyDelete*tier
ReplyDeleteCause he was op? :D
ReplyDeleteFizz is intended to build AP, not stomp with AD. AP Fizz is actually viable now.
Ap kog does a silly amount of % health dmg. Who's that good against? People building cinderhulk. Who builds cinderhulk? Everyone and their sister
ReplyDeleteUdyr tier 1 jg?
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for this day for a long time now <3
ReplyDeletewatch the UOL game just played XD
ReplyDeleteWasn't OP Honestly. Even before 5.2. People in general just seem to hate assassins. CC is the answer as usual. Riot nerfing Fizz because they wanted fizz to build him to build AP instead of AD is silly, really.
ReplyDeleteTeleport has a 4 second channel. Isn't this enough time to react by getting back? In the case of hecarim where it's not, try keeping a timer on his teleport because it is so deadly.
ReplyDeleteUdyr's kit has ALOT of free stats.
ReplyDelete-Sunfire aura
-AOE on-hit
-Spammable shield
-Built in life steal
-spamable MS buff
-1 second stun
He is a jack-of-all-trades jungler and right now the numbers on his skills are really high. Plus righteous glory adds another MS boost making him pretty damn hard to kite. Combined with thornmail and gromp buff, you are still dealing damage while being kited by the ADC.
About mid Cho'gath, is he god tier as a super aggressive 21/9/0 mid or an AP-tank with 9/21/0 masteries but with mostly offensive AP items? I've only had consistent success with the latter. The former has devastating damage early-game and can snowball hard but as the game goes on he becomes quite squishy.
ReplyDeleteI think Nunu's mediocre popularity but climbing win rate is because, unlike the current Sejuani, he can't be autolocked and still steamroll the enemy. I think people are going to consider their team comp and who the enemy jungler is before they pick Nunu. Of course if Nunu's win rate continues to rise randoms are gonna think he's super OP and just pick him regardless.
ReplyDeletelol thank you, i was tearing when i mentioned cho gath ;)
ReplyDeleteLOOOOOOOOOOOOL everyone and their sister, true tho
ReplyDeleteI think he is talking about cho gath full ap. He is still relatively tanky compared to the other midlaners and deals insane damage.
ReplyDeleteI think he is talking about cho gath full ap. He is still relatively tanky compared to the other midlaners and deals insane damage..
ReplyDeleteGuess they're still leaving veigar in the shit box
ReplyDeleteAwesome!! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteJanna was a user request and Soraka is still left there after the rework (before she was kind of viable).
ReplyDeleteYou didn't get the point of bad base damages and 4v5 in the early game. Kassadin's damage in the early game is practically non-existent. While he stacks up tear or gets his RoA, his damage output is awful (bad base damages again). He doesn't provide enough DPS or CC early on to get that early lead compared to many other midlaners in the current meta.
As to your statement: "it's always going to be a 5v5 if a Kassadin can play well, get ganks, and manage to roam and get kills". You can say the same thing about any champion. "It's always going to be a 5v5 if a *insert champion name here* can play well, get ganks and, manage to roam and get kills".
Tier 4 doesn't mean that the champion itself is garbage, it just means that carrying with that champion is extremely hard. He's in Tier 4 because of how little early/mid-game pressure he has compared to all other options.
Errr, nasus is accually not that bad agenst quinn as many people think. Quinn has noway on earth to beat nasus in a staight up all in fight. Because of that nasus can threaten to all in. Also nasus got great sustain from his passiv, so that poke quinn gets of is hard to ever get something out of.
ReplyDeletegod dammit ive been playing cho mid since S3 now hes going to get nerfed ;(
ReplyDeleteAp kog maw is very strong in solo que. However,i dont think hes teir one worthy. Basicaly he doesnt get strong until you get level 11 and ludens . Then you can poke like mad. A full build kog maw level 16 is THE best poker in the game
ReplyDeleteap kog is super strong right now, so is ap ezreal
ReplyDeleteAp ezreal is actualy really bad right now. In a league of tanks ezreal wont be able to burst anyone
ReplyDeleteYou arent suppose to burst down tanks and its easy to get strong fast and poke down the tanks because they get stronger slower than you do. Not only that, 1 ult will leave their carries out of the fight.
ReplyDeleteSion support FTW, just get a Twitch - Graves - MF - Draven at your back.
ReplyDeletei said it b4 and I'll say it again, why urgot is in so shit tiers? xD In lcs ppl play him and I myself started to maining urgot mid and destroy almost anybody..
ReplyDeleteI think that people pick vayne because she can kill tanks and is the only adc who can land a single auto attack on quinn when blinded
ReplyDeletecan someone give thier opinion on what roles carry harder in what order.
ReplyDeletefoxdrop (whom i dont really like very much) said its Mid>adc=jungle>top>supp
however this was a while ago... how do u think it is now?
man cinderhulk is the most broken item in the game. its so strong that im starting to see support leonas and top lane hecarims taking smite just so they can build it.
ReplyDeleteits definetly because she can kill and kite tanks. tanks are insanely strong right now and only few like jinx vayne can do it.
ReplyDeleteits kind of clunky i played with a sion support and he kept hitting E on my minions making me lose cs and he tried to initiate with his ult got juked and we lost most of our bot lane duels because the enemy vayne juked all of his skillshots
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'd have at least in Tier 1. As an adc he can shred tanks late game like no other.
ReplyDeleteSo... I recently was in a game, just a normal where the enemy team had a poppy who soloed dragon at level two, have no idea what her runes were just that she did it... anyone else been seeing this in games?
ReplyDeleteSo.....I WANT A ZILEAN BUFF :)
ReplyDeletenow with blitz nerfs would make a bit more sense to ask for tier 1 thresh
ReplyDeletehttps://scontent-mxp.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/s720x720/10672250_530988950372704_2189296389866579238_n.jpg?oh=346d1f8a74558108fccc7aa956232b3b&oe=55E1B6A4
fun fact:everyone in the game can solodragon at level 1
ReplyDeleteyou're right having pure hp based damage in this meta is pretty insane, also koggy is pretty popular in lcs too for this reason
ReplyDeleteThis is my favourite lolside, not only is the list very accurate, but the daily (very varying) uploads give a lot of insight as well.
ReplyDeleteLike last patch i made a top 5 list with champions i think are placed too high or too low.
Here we go:
1) Cho'gath god tier mid
One has to be blind to not see his strength. His basedamages are through the roof, coupled with insane CC and moderate tankyness. Did i mention that passive that WILL win your lane? And it gets even better: You can blindpick cho because he can go mid jungle and top and decide while the game progresses if you want to be apcarry or offtank. Very versatile pick.
However he doesnt deserve godtier in my opinion. His strongest tools, passive and basedamage dont scale into lategame just like his long cooldowns. Additionally cho can get outplayed with ease and his lack of mobility is a problem sometimes. Ultimate in meleerange doesnt help apcho either. I think he isnt unfair enough for godtier.
2) Ad Ezreal tier 2 mid
His weak laning holds him back and his complete lack of CC. Other midlaners like that can kill a high priotitytarget in a splitsecond but ez can not. Another ,,weakness'' is his nature as admidlaner, it happens very often that teams rely on magicdamage from midlane in champselect. Against popular believe ezreal does insane amounts of damage. Ezreal's sustained damage is higher than most of mid's champs BUT again your team will lose burstdamage. His winrate in mid is bad too. As a last point, in my opinion ezreal is difficult to execute well, not everyone in bronze-gold can carry with him.
Rek'sai tier 1 top
Ah the good old times when this sexy adorable abomination felt like a tigerudyr with a gapcloser... Those times are over. Rek sai's kit is not very complex, passive aside she is a ball of stats + an inbuild teleport. Nerf after nerf cut on her stats and now she isnt something special in lane anymore. Her earlygame is still good but she really falls off so why give her a sololane? I think we reached the point where rek is just balanced outside of the jungle.
4) Nautilus tier ? top
One should be VERY carefull about arguing about a pick that isnt on the tierlist because most of the time its just insane bull****. Nautilus' continous buffa put him in a strong spot, stromg enough to be a topsupport and in my opinion, in toplane too.
Why nautilus top?
Take flask, start with w. It got buffed so it is a 1 point wonder. It gives you a shieldvalue of 120 on lvl 1, your opponents ability will do 100 damage AT BEST. Calculate in that your shield does damage too and you win every single trade. Shield lasts 10 sec, zone your opponents from farm. Max e. It's new cooldown in combination with the too high basedamage makes it worth it. Get a gank and your opponent will never escape your cold armored hands.
You scale well through CC.
I suggest tier 2, could be tier 1.
5) Zilean tier 3 support
Not sure about this one. Riot buffed the crap out of him and his winrate is floating around 51% again. He is the only real support in tier 3 (oh well, there is bard...). Zilean gets prettey strong midgame when he is allowed to spam his abilitys. His speedup is worse now but the slow... It's powerfull. Point and click deathsentence should an ally stand nearby. Because of his ult and CC zilean doesnt scale down. Rough point is his earlygame but it is managable.
Done. Those are 5 picks i disagree with (that means i agree with all other placements more or less). There are mundojungle and urgot top... But i wrote already about them and dislike reposts.
Do you agree? Do you think my knowledge is poor? Would really love to see your opinions.
What bout Nautilus support? Isn´t he an alternative for Leona? And he isn´t banned. Not even considered. Well, not in my division at least. I like tanky supports :3 Taric, Leona... and now im trying Nauti. Cheers! Btw, I always read the solo q tier list but i´ve never comentededed before xD
ReplyDeleteJust wrote a comment about nauti support lol
ReplyDeleteExplain please
ReplyDeleteNautilus is placed in tier 1so the creator of this list thinks that he is strong (and boy he is). If you click on his name in blue, you will be able to read the article ssj wrote about him.
ReplyDeleteAs for naut replacing leona... No.
Leona is the champ with the highest amount of freestats on botlane and more importantly is the only supp (didnt see zyra anymore) that ignores the 1-shot rule:
,, I can kill you if i hit my awesome looking cc spell which gets blocked by minions.''
Blitz, thresh, nautilus, braum, morgana even vel koz and brand follow this rule. Another plus for leona are her quick spellcasts which dont let her opponents much time to react.
Recommend nautilus, gameplay and voiceover are too good to pass on.
With the recent Kassadin buffs, I do believe he is in Tier 3 now, not Tier 4. I've been having awesome success with him without too much "effort".
ReplyDeleteAlso, Shen should be Tier 2 in balanced tier with his R buff.
Hey have a question about Akali. Why is she more viable in top lane atm ?
ReplyDelete?Nice for you? ^^
ReplyDeleteNautilus supp is meta, according to champion gg nautilus is played supp for half of the time. I just wanted to point out nautilis top which doesnt see play ... yet? :)
Please use http://champion.gg to chec the win ratios by specif role, lolking is not accuracy because don't take the TURKEY, LAN and LAS server so champion.gg its by far more accuracy than lolking, Nunu win ratio is 58.5% on jungle!
ReplyDeleteThat Udyr position increase...I see you, SSJ....
ReplyDeleteAlso, really happy that Quinn got some love and might see more play. She has always been my favorite champion.
Where are the Gnar jungle comments?
ReplyDeleteI use five different sites actually. Either way, nunu's play rate is extremely low at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI feel like it was enough to at least make him at least able to be put back on the list lol. Probably tier 3, but at least there.
ReplyDeleteThey should give Veigar a small buff to his movespeed, or maybe lower one of his cooldowns... I don't see Rito giving a buff to his damage but he really sucks hard right now
ReplyDeletePls add gnar jungle SSJ :P. Honestly tho i think he is very hard to play. You need to control his rage well. And even if you can, you'd still have to find coordination with your teammates. Definitely not viable in solo queue imo.
ReplyDeleteHow is teemo mid at a higher tier than jayce mid
ReplyDeleteYeah, I tried gnar jg the other day. It's a lot of fun but not so great. Also, honestly as much as I love gnar I hate him in solo. I am currently in gold 2 and it seems like a lot of people still pay no attention to gnar rage bar. For that reason, I refuse to play him... makes me sad...
ReplyDeleteYes please explain.
ReplyDeleteQuinn and Ashe a Tier 1 ADC, Sion is God Tier, Mid Kass is Trash Tier. Oh my how the meta has changed :)
ReplyDeleteQuinn <3
ReplyDeleteFinally, Riot is showing her the love she should have received a long time ago. Nice to see my favorite champion back in action.
Yeah you are absolutely right. I don't play gnar in ranked for the same reasons.
ReplyDeleteI love playing gnar. Works well as a late-game carry from the jungle. Warrior or Cinderhulk with triforce. Tier 2 imho.
ReplyDeleteif you want poke then there are so many more better options(like kog maw) . If you want a combo of burst and poke id recomend ahri
ReplyDeleteThe buff to Shen's ult didn't help fix any of his problems
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRHj2XGLmHE
ReplyDeletePoppy and a lot of junglers can at lvl 2 or lvl 3. But that is not worth... That depending on how fast you do it, I think that it is worth with Poppy, Malzahar AD and Diana.
ReplyDeleteA lot of champions can, Olaf, Lee, Udyr, etc, etc. But you lose a lot of exp and gold. It is a risky decision.
SSJ and guys, I want to know your opinions about these champions:
ReplyDeleteUrgot as Midlaner and Toplaner: I think that he deserves tier 2, although his buff is a great tool, I really think that he should be high because assassins and bruisers are not strong. He can do a lot of safe damage through a very powerful front line, with a lot of peel and engage in meta this is perfect for him. (He really has a lot of damage, when I started to play him I was impressed, his damage is comparable to Fiora's damage, really...)
Nidalee as Toplaner: For Nid I think that she should be low... She was a champ with an average of skillcap and now she is a champion very skilled, while it is true that her nerf does not hurt a lot in top it is a bit important, at lvl 18 she has 210 health lower than before the nerf. This adds to her a lot of skill to use Nid properly in teamfights. It is very risky jump in a teamfight, especially in this meta with a lot of CC.
Zilean as Midlaner: I do not know a lot of Zilean, but currently he has 51% of winrate in +platinum but 47% under gold. I think that he has a lot of potential once you master him.
Lux as Midlaner: Well, her "bug correction" add her a lot of damage in Final Spark... Further, the current meta makes her a tactical decision for Mid.
And... Kha'Zix and Lee Sin has the same win rate that Elise! Elise needs friends in tier 3... :(
Just try Teemo mid.
ReplyDeleteHe is a good pick but he is not too strong in any elo. For low elo I think that he is not a good pick.
ReplyDeleteGnar is not that gd late game. Plus playing him in the jungle will get you behind.
ReplyDeleteCho'Gath can zone yes but his zoning is not reliable... his burst is easily avoidable and once he has used his Rupture and Silence... he is easily taken down. Compare him to tier 2 and 3 mid laners like Ziggs, Viktor, Azir or Gragas and you can see that he neither provides their reliable damage(auto attacks) or much easier to land abilities. In team fights, he is nothing more than a meat shield who you walk around to attack the carries as his auto attacks do insignificant damage.
ReplyDeleteI understand because I have had the misfortune of playing vs a morgana as melee champ(I play Master Yi and Wukong mid). She doesn't have burst damage but she is very good at gradually whittling down your hp. I don't think it is viable for Morgana to go full AP as even with Zhonya she still needs to go in the midst of of enemy team to land her ultimate. She relies a bit too much on her team to follow up and is not suitable for carrying solo queue.
ReplyDeleteI really prefer her top over mid. She does very well against melee champs, she farms fairly well with Q, and really well under tower so you just let them push and once you hit 6 that is a long way for them to have to run to get to their own tower. She also does hybrid damage early so she is difficult to build against early. Take TP and you can still go bot lane for that double kill
ReplyDeleteHe's only very VERY slightly stronger with his ult buff, and he's at the top of Top Lane Tier 3...
ReplyDeleteMakes it look better lol
Urgot's pretty solid, and I would say deserving of Tier 2 at this point. The main points with him are that he mandates the same "there's an AD caster on my team" adjustments in composition that your team will have to reflect; he's not ideal for many compositions. Of course, as you mention, those compositions are fairly meta right now, so there're plenty of opportunities to play Urgot.
ReplyDeleteBack when bruiser Nidalee was nerfed and AP/jungle Nidalee became popular, bruiser Nidalee was just kind of nerfed into the "balanced" range. She's still a viable top-laner, just not an overbearingly strong one. I think she could definitely be moved down in Tier 2 a little bit just because she's fairly tough to play, but I would say she's still deserving of Tier 2 at the moment; well-played she's still an incredibly strong bruiser, with a lot of snowball potential.
Still haven't even played Zilean after his rework, but he definitely seems stronger than before by quite a bit. And he was already decently strong. Some parts of Zilean definitely make him a little challenging to play (timing his R correctly and using it on the correct person), but only really in the realm of game sense; your skillshot is pretty usable and everything else is pretty simple to use. I think he's a bit secretly OP right now probably, and at least Tier 2. But, I haven't played him, so I can't give a ton of input.
Lux is definitely stronger now. She has a rough time against assassins, though, and she doesn't handle many tanks particularly well either. Her buff does make her comboing a bit better though, which lets her delete squishies. She doesn't do as well against teams with a strong front-line, though, which is fairly common at the moment. I would move her up just a bit in Tier 2, personally.
Kha'Zix and Lee Sin are probably both deserving of Tier 3, below Gold especially. However, both champions (Lee Sin especially) have incredibly strong kits to the point where they have absolutely massive potential in-game. Knowing what they're capable of, it's hard to refer to either champion as Tier 3, as even when they're a little ahead they can have insane impacts on a game, and you don't necessarily have to be THAT good at either champion to do well with them in a solo queue environment. So, I both agree and disagree that they belong in Tier 3. I'd ultimately move them down a few notches in Tier 2 instead, though. They're both quite a bit stronger than Elise, who's been nerfed quite hard, and is a shadow of her former self by quite a bit.
Someone can explain me why quinn is in tier 1? I'm main quinn, but people always says to me she is not viable in this meta, her ultimate is usless and not viable escape, and more things about her that makes her not a good carry. Why is the change? Who has change? (Sorry about my english, I'm spanish)
ReplyDeleteThe tiger dyr is pretty good, try it out, dyr mains.
ReplyDeleteIf you are not sure how to, u know who to check
Wait what?
Espero haberte ayudado.
ReplyDeleteOpinions on Diana top? And on Azir top? I know he isnt that good in ranked which i dont play much, but how about normals?
ReplyDeleteIt might sound ridiculous to you, but I think Kalista middle is viable vs some champions. She can use her linking with any tank, Yasuo, or simply the jungler for better ganks. Why do I think she is viable? Because of her passive and linking. She can jump around and dodge most of her enemies' skillshots. You might not kill their middle laner if your jungler is not ganking for you, but at least you will have higher CS. And also it is real fun to play her on middle lane! Works for me:

What's up with Rengar tier 1 top?
ReplyDeleterengar can be very powerful if u know how to play him
ReplyDeletequinn build path?
ReplyDeleteHe is incredibly weak at the start though. Very subject to counter jungle and while he may stay alive that doesn't mean he can stop a nunu, shaco or xin from taking his camps. Also you have to provide pray your lanes do well enough for you to ramp up which in solo q is not a good recipe for success.
ReplyDeletewhat what?
ReplyDeletedamn that pun. lets say...
ReplyDeleteLEL
Can people explain why aatrox went up to join the big boys at top?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I would say that he has at the top but blade of the rune king is core for him, that is strong against all the health stacking right now. Plus with his leap he can play into the smite tp or ignite tp stuff that is going on top right now
ReplyDeletethx for the info. Imo, he gets somewhat countered by the current meta (pantheon, nasus, etc.), thats why i asked about him.
ReplyDeleteI think Diana is best when she can roam which is obviously a little harder to do top. As for air I have been playing around with some different build paths for him top (the classic ap, bruiser and even tank) and I think he is quietly making a comeback. Top is also generally a little safer for him. It is pretty easy to bully melee Champs as azir
ReplyDeleteI agree that his match ups aren't incredible but another point would be he has the sustain and pushing power to deny the Horses and dragon ladies being played top to tp gank or the ability to roam into your jungle
ReplyDeletewill look into it, i've been playing since s3 and i have to say the meta has really changed a LOT. Rito's been recycling unused champs XD
ReplyDeleteI think it is fun. This is the first season I have really put effort into league. But I have been playing since the tail end of s3 myself. I think the game would be boring if they always kept the same meta. My tanks are finally having their day, so that's nice
ReplyDeleteWait Wait?
ReplyDeletewhat are those 5 different websites?
ReplyDeleteAgreed, the nerf really impacted blitz's gameplay. And i saw some rlly good thresh players in silver, so yea it makes sense to move him back up to t1
ReplyDeleteYoumus, botrk, ie, pd, berserkers, last whiser
ReplyDeleteWhat is the bruiser Azir build path?
ReplyDeleteSame with every champ
ReplyDeleteI like IE, BotRK/PD, BotRK/PD, LW as first four. I've been messing around with her build for over a season now and that's my highest success build. However, for top, I rush BotRK , then usually BC or LW if it's a tank, TF sometimes, then Youmuu's or Frozen Mallet (if I have the gold)
ReplyDeletei just said tiger udyr is pretty good
ReplyDeleteYou think he is not that good? he is great, insane... ownage. :S
ReplyDeleteI don't claim to be a master of azir, but I have been messing with rod, liandry's and nashors then 2 tank items based on the enemy team comp. Really like randuins with a banshee veil for the tank items. You can dive in with that and be really hard to kill but still have pretty good dmg. I run cdr runes on that too so I still hit 40%
ReplyDeleteIs varus any good right now?
ReplyDeleteShyvana in bold you didn't mention it. Reported ! :p
ReplyDeleteNope. :D
ReplyDeleteWhy is Trundle only tier 2 :O?
ReplyDeleteI find him insanely strong, he does tons of damage and has good cc.
I think Shyvana is too low as well.
Support gods: Janna, Thresh, Morgana, Lulu. There should be no arguments about that. Leona is decent, Sona is just not as good as the four I mentioned in the late game.
ReplyDeleteDo you expext Sion to leave God Tier after the next nerf? Should I still buy him/ is it still worth learning him?
ReplyDeleteTresh is bad, unless you are a challenger and your adc is as well thresh has very little to offer (a slow easy to dodge, hook, a sheild, cuz lets face it no 1 will click that lantern, small amout of peel, and a slow) sona is the best support, crazy damage and great sustain, plus a godlike ulti, just try and hit me with that slow morg q XD Lulu is very good, i agree with that
ReplyDeleteThresh and Lulu are generally a lot harder to play, but as the elo gets higher you do see them picked more often, same with a lot of other supports such as Nautilus and Annie support.
ReplyDeleteRead thearticle on her mate T_T front page, underneath this
ReplyDeleteAnd that means..?
ReplyDelete
