Distribution of Ranked Players on NA Server

Someone posted these charts up a little earlier on the message boards, which I found to be super interesting: It shows the distribution for what I assume to be the NA server in terms of how many people are in each tier. The results may or may not surprise you:

Data compiled by Tetragon Source

This might explain why the silver LP capping near 100 LP is so intense, just think, they want to make sure you're better than THAT many other people.

What do you think about the system? Should they make more tiers? Comment below!

  1. What's the difference between the 2 graphs?

The second is a combination of all the servers plus the percentile thingy on the side.

  3. With hаvin so much ωritten сontent do you ever run into any іѕѕues of ρlаgorism or copyright infringement?
Mу website has a lot of exclusive content I've either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being stolen? I'd truly apprеciate it.

With the percentage 'thingy' one can see how good they are compared to others. For instance, if you belong to Gold division 4 then you know that you are part of the top 5.85% of the LOL player base.

  6. Each Division & Total Players

  7. The first graph is straightforward, it's the raw number of players in each division. The second one is more confusing. I think the total players graph is like this: It represents the number of players who are in each division OR HIGHER. So, the Bronze 5 bar represents 100% of the ranked playerbase, and each division after that represents a smaller portion of the players. So, the graph is basically representing the percentile.

I think it's fine. I got to Silver 1 in NA (playing ADC) and noticed a drastic increase in the skill of players. I transferred to OCE and got placed in Silver 3. Now I'm in Silver 1 and again I notice the people I verse are drastically harder to beat. I don't think they should create another tier because the fight to get to Gold has been challenging and fun and made me a better player. If they created another tier, it would have to be below Bronze and that would just take away all desire from people to play the game.
    Leave it as is.

its percentile not percent you fucking idiot.

  11. we should explain it better to them. by saying, hey idiot, this says they're in the top 100% (meaning they're at the bottom usually as a lower percent indicates higher placing). but when explaining always call them an idiot, that way they know who's the teacher and who's not.
