SEASON 3 - PATCH 3.0.2 SOLO QUEUE TIER LIST
Preface Chatter
Just realized that I was supposed to update the tier list last week, but never rolled the changes from draft to the live blog. Well I've made some adjustments since then, and this list should be up to date, enjoy guys!
The Tier List
Tier 1: Amumu, Rumble, Singed, Xin Zhao, Twisted Fate, Taric, Hecarim, Vi, Miss Fortune, Elise, Shaco, Katarina, Fiddlesticks, Zyra, Nidalee, Jax, Shen, Malphite, Darius, Garen, Ezreal, Kha'Zix, Lee Sin, Blitzcrank, Sona, Cho'gath, Karthus, Graves, Draven, Caitlyn, Kayle,
Tier 2: Jarvan IV, Nocturne, Lux, Evelynn, Orianna, Talon, Lulu, Kassadin, Maokai, Ryze, Akali, Pantheon, Diana, Jayce, Master Yi, Twitch, Wukong, Irelia, Renekton, Zed, Riven, Olaf, Cassiopeia, Ahri, Morgana, Rammus, Nautilus, Vladimir, Kennen, Leona, Janna, Udyr, Dr. Mundo, Anivia, Annie
Tier 3: Thresh, Sivir, Syndra, Corki, Ashe, Vayne, Mordekaiser, Teemo, Soraka, Skarner, Nunu, Galio, Kog'Maw, Brand, Gragas, Malzahar, Varus, Shyvana, Yorick, Tristana, Fizz, Swain, Zilean, Xerath, Nasus
Tier 4: Warwick, Veigar, Viktor, Sejuani, Alistar, Nami, Sion, Rengar, Gangplank, Urgot, Heimerdinger, Ziggs, Trundle, Volibear, Tryndamere, Poppy, Leblanc, Fiora, Karma
- Heroes in BOLD I will talk about shortly
- Heroes in Italics may be over/undervalued, but aren't/haven't played enough for me to make a better judgement.
- Within each tier the champions are strongest from left to right, but within a tier each champion's strength is relatively close. This is especially true for Tiers 2 and 3 where these heroes are ALL highly playable and player dependent on how strong they are in-game.
Hero Explanations
- Draven - Draven is very very strong right now, and as people practice him more and more, his ability to carry increases as well. His potential's always been high, but very inconsistent since he's got a high skill cap and plays very differently than other AD carries. I think at this point with the nerfs to more popular AD carries though, he's definitely at a very good spot!
- Hecarim - Hecarim with Spirit of the Elder Lizard is some sort of sick joke as I mentioned in the FOTM report
- Lux - Lux is absolutely game-changing with her snares and super short CDs. The only thing holding her back from being as good as Zyra is a massive AOE knockup, plants that attack after she dies, and a true damage passive...wait, Zyra is OP.
- Nasus - The buffs helped him out a bit, not sure how much, but he does seem stronger.
- Rammus - I think Rammus is a bit underplayed. Homeguard boots Rammus with HP stacking completely stops any chance of split pushing.
- Trundle - People have been playing Trundle a lot lately especially after Doublelift mentioned that he thinks Trundle is OP. Haven't seen anybody do well with Trundle, but he's very good against Elise.
- Udyr - Udyr is secret OP right now. Build Spirit of the Elder Lizard on him and see some magic...
- Veigar - Even with his buff he's still very dependent on the player and by no means consistent.
- Vi - Very strong right now with Spirit of the Elder Lizard (do you see a trend?) Now what have we learned about true damage with no cooldown...
- Xin Zhao - Xin Zhao. Win Zhao. Not much more to be said.
- The purpose of this list is for discussion and to provide a starting point for hero selection.

I think Lux and Fiddle should swap. A good Fiddle ult can be good, but Lux's entire kit is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe changes to Akali actually made a massive difference.
ReplyDeletein my opinion, I went 19/1 with her, then 14/1, then 13/1.
ReplyDeletethx for that udyr tip glad he is back
ReplyDeleteTeemo tier 3. Noooooooo.
ReplyDeleteIt's awesome, these days I was wondering if he still is viable top lane.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! It makes my day every time you post a new list.
ReplyDeleteI think Lulu should be Tier 1 (not Tier 2). Aside from Taric, she's the most quality support right now and has the best overall support kit. She can snare, speed, sheep, shield, poke, bounce, just everything you'd ever want. And she's great AGAINST Taric, which makes her fantastic right now since he's by and way the most likely support you see.
ReplyDeleteI think Varus and Sivir should be Tier 2 (not Tier 3). Look at their win rates, they are currently 3rd and 4th behind MF and Draven, and it's because they both are fantastic in the current meta. Varus has the poke, range, and great ult, he has no escapes (bad for solo queue), but he has fantastic team fight and he is great at physically zoning the enemy bot lane by himself (great solo queue quality). Sivir is just one of the safest picks especially against heavy poke or kill lanes, she does really well on trades, and her ult is fantastic for bruiser heavy teams to gap close and engage.
Lulu is great and I don't see how that can be overlooked. I think Varus and Sivir are a bit slept on, and I think their win rates reflect a much more solid place in the current meta than in the recent past.
who is the person making this tier list?
ReplyDeleteThat would be me, I'm ssjsuntastic on na
ReplyDeletehmmm... okay, what is your advice on udyr? I loved him back in the day, im a jungle main and want to know some suggestions besides rushing the elder lizard
ReplyDeletehmmm... okay, what is your advice on udyr? I loved him back in the day, im a jungle main and want to know some suggestions besides rushing the elder lizard thx
ReplyDeleteUdyr still lacks too much. He can be kited all day, and for that he needs to build MS, tenacity and tanky. All an enemy carry is scared of is your bearstance. He is was fun to play but now he has little options for a vailable build and is just too easy to kite or get away from
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't Jarvan IV on Tier 1? I barely lose games with him, he's just played the wrong way most of the time. Most players play him top where he gets countered, if you play him in the jungle, you barely get countered, can counterjungle about EVERY opponent and got great Ganks due to your combo of skills and on lvl 6 you own everyone without flash or dash ready. Also he can be played as either bruiser or fulltank, which makes him strong to carry games
ReplyDeleteDoes ur Fiddlesticks count a as mid laner too?
ReplyDeletegreat job updating the tierlist
ReplyDeletebut i got one question: why is diana so low? She can roam pretty easy and can pick the carrys of in a teamfight
Ye this blog is really good. Do you know of any other similar web sites/blogs?? There's A LOT of rubbish out there that is outdated at best.
ReplyDeleteshould put akali in tier 1
ReplyDeleteJarvan's not Tier 1 simply because he requires more skill than other faceroll champions to play, and can backfire on your teammates if improperly coordinated. Consistency!
ReplyDeleteDiana's not that low, she's one of the top Tier 2 champions!
ReplyDeleteI try to avoid rubbish if possible =x
ReplyDeleteHi Patrick, Akali's strong, but she's a kinda squishy later on. She'll likely be getting moved up next update though ~
ReplyDeleteHow is Alistar in T5? He's one of the best supports/tank in the game
ReplyDeleteHe used to be, but after his headbutt nerfs he can't initiate without flash anymore unless he wants to take a butt-load of damage, hence his winrate right now of about 40%
ReplyDeletelmfao brand tier three keep dreamin TIER ONE
ReplyDeleteI guess in some cases, like against Vlad. I had his jungle in mind though!
ReplyDeleteBrand has a lot of room to get outplayed, so he's not as consistent as other champions. His lack of CC also means that if he falls behind early there's not much hope for a comeback.
ReplyDeleteI hope you know, Trist's early is not what her problem is. If anything her early is strong. With her recent E buff and her jump, her early game is strong. It's her mid game that is the issue. Obviously her late game is just face roll tho.
ReplyDeleteWicked info, ill spread the word
