Top Team Comps #101: Massive Proxy Comp

After a series of tryhard comps, let's check out a fun composition that specializes in tower diving and proxying minion waves. Depending on how far ahead your team gets, it's possible that a few of you together can freely proxy all three minion spawns at once. It's a strategy that isn't exactly practical, but it's certainly fun if you can get to that point in the game. If that fails, you can still tower dive freely!

Champions

  • Ezreal [Marksman] - When your team plans on doing zany strats that are high risk, picking up the safest marksman in the game is always a good idea. His ultimate is also perfect for sniping out any stray minions that run away from the proxy.
  • Kassadin [Mid] - When it comes to proxying as a mid-laner, high mobility is key. Obviously he can't proxy early in the game, but later on when your team is hanging out around turrets trying to see how much they tickle, Kassadin is one of the only mages that can pop in and out at will.
  • Tahm Kench [Support] - When it comes to bulky tank supports, Tahm Kench is probably the best. Alistar beats him out when it comes to bursts of tankiness, but nobody beans Tahm Kench for his consistent impossible to kill status. He's the perfect champion to take turret aggro and dive at will.
  • Rammus [Jungler] - If there's one champion who barely even notices the existence of towers, Rammus is the first that comes to mind. A pure armor machine, this guy goes cruising speed and never looks back.
  • Singed [Top] - Proxy king himself, Singed is the only champion in the game that can comfortably proxy starting at level one. Set the tone that this is the way this game will be dominated and the enemy team will bow at your feet.

Key Concepts

  • This team doesn't *need* to proxy to do well, but it's certainly much more fun if you do it.
  • Make sure to focus on farming first in order to get your armor items, this will allow you to proxy much smoother.

Countering

Countering this team largely means split pushing and avoiding team fights at all costs.

Here is an example team that may succeed:
  • Malzahar [Mid] - The best way to avoid getting proxied is by clearing the wave faster than the enemy team. Meanwhile, his tank slaughtering abilities are also extremely strong, allowing you to take out enemy divers.
  • Amumu [Jungle] - Amumu doesn't get nearly the recognition he deserves. His powerful crowd-control spells combined with his long range initiation is perfect for holding enemies in place while your team crushes them with massive damage.
  • Cho'Gath [Top] - While Cho'Gath isn't exactly good at proxying, he's great at sustaining and tanking minions. He's can also shrug off the majority of Singed's damage mid-game, making him an excellent match-up.
  • Zyra [Support] - Taking out a team this tanky needs some big AOE liandry's procs. Few do it better than Zyra, and having her on the team is an amazing asset as long as you don't get one shot by Kassadin...too many times
  • Miss Fortune [Marksman] - The best way to keep the enemy team from getting too strong is by crushing them early in a way that they can never recover. By landing those execution double-ups, Miss Fortune can prevent the proxy from ever taking place.
Overall this counter team is strong as well, and is much more balanced to play.
