Guinsoo's Rageblade Jhin?! - BROKEN

In Patch 8.6, Guinsoo's Rageblade received a number of meaningful changes. It received scaling physical damage on hit and percentage-based scaling bonus damage per stack. They also reduced the cost from 3600 down to 3000 gold, resulting in a cheaper, more cost-efficient item. As a result, pros are all starting to build Guinsoo's to take advantage of the insane scaling effects on Jhin.

Introduction

In Patch 8.6, Guinsoo's Rageblade received a number of meaningful changes. It received scaling physical damage on-hit and percentage-based scaling bonus damage per stack. They also reduced the cost from 3600 down to 3000 gold, resulting in a cheaper, more cost-efficient item.

As a result, pros are all starting to build Guinsoo's to take advantage of the insane scaling effects on Jhin.

Jhin Synergy

As a marksman, Jhin has relatively little in the way of ability power, and getting to maximum stacks is a bit of a challenge for a champion that attacks as slow as he does.

However, because his attack damage scaling with attack speed, Guinsoo's allows Jhin to dish out some absolutely ridiculous damage at maximum stacks.

When to Buy

Generally, players pick up Rageblade as their 3rd or 4th item behind Essence Reaver and Rapid Firecannon.

Some players like to wait until the very end of the game for a huge power spike and elect to finish their second Zeal item and Infinity Edge first.

Advantages

Double Scaling
Not only does Jhin gain bonus damage based on attack speed, but the new Rageblade actually gives percentage AD scaling as well. This means that every hit you do ramps up a ton, and by the time you get to your 4th shot Jhin is dealing some INSANE amounts of one-shot damage. It doesn't even need to scale fully to be worthwhile.

Cheap Price
Ever since the price reduction, Rageblade is incredibly easy to get your hands on, and only 400 gold more than Statik Shiv. This allows you to get a huge power spike for relatively little.

Excellent Against Tanks
Getting your stacks up against assassins is generally not going to be possible. However, if Jhin is fighting tanks he can quickly scale up to be unstoppable and snowball through team fights without breaking a sweat.

Disadvantages

Weak against assassins
Where this build is strong in sustained team fights, if you happen to be up against a lot of assassins don't build it early. Getting an Infinity Edge will do much more. However, picking it up later as a 5th item can still work well.

Waste of stats if not enough autos
Again, this item does take time to ramp up. If you can't get off enough auto attacks, picking up a Statikk Shiv will give you a lot more room for error.

Conclusions

Overall, it definitely seems like a good pick-up on Jhin. It's gold efficient, and you're really not using it for the max stack proc. It's nice, but the massive ramp up is much more gold-efficient than any other scaling item you'll get as a 3rd or 4th item.
