Archive post, September 2013. Half the dive rests on a passive that isn't there any more. Aatrox's rework replaced his entire kit, Blood Well included, and Deathbringer Stance [Passive] now just empowers an attack every few seconds and heals him off the damage. That's a duelling tool, not a reason to walk under a turret. Zac's side of it holds up: Cell Division [Passive] still splits him into blobs he can rebuild himself from, so he's still the one you send in first. Treat the sample counter team as a snapshot of one 2013 patch rather than as advice; it was picked for a meta, not for a mechanic.

An upgrade from the original dive comp, Dive Comp 2.0 features newer champions with specially tailored passives that make them even more suited to the strategy. With these champions, jumping past minions onto heavily guarded champions becomes a cinch!
| SUGGESTED LINEUP Top: Aatrox Mid: Ahri Jungle: Zac AD Carry: Tristana Support: Leona | ADVANTAGES:
- Very tanky and mobile
- Strong engage and disengage - Good CC - Extremely high survivability - High burst damage | DISADVANTAGES: - Low poke - Lifesteal tank |
STRATEGY:
This team can easily swap Zac and Aatrox depending on the lane match-up, but I prefer Aatrox top as he scales much harder with items and also split-pushes harder. Obviously this team features extremely strong diving abilities with Zac and Aatrox passives basically making towers a non-factor. However, you should still pick and choose your battles carefully and only dive when you're guaranteed a kill.
During the late game, provided Zac is tanky enough a hard engage is definitely your preferred strategy as this team's poke basically consists of just Ahri. Although this team's AOE potential is nothing to scoff at, because Aatrox is susceptible to getting CC'ed and bursted down, caution should be taken when up against high AOE damage comps.

COUNTER-STRATEGY
In order to easily beat this team, you'll need a strong front line coupled with good poking abilities. An AOE heavy team may also work as mentioned before, but the key will be to shut down Aatrox and keep him from snowballing out of control.
Here's a sample team that would do well:
Top: Nasus - Strong top lane tank that does well against Aatrox early, and can shut down his attack speed late game.
Mid: Nidalee - Strongest poke in the game, can keep out of range of Ahri's CC's.
Jungle: Amumu - Strong initiation and tank, can counter a hard engage
AD Carry: Corki - Strongest AD carry in the game right now with great poke and escape power.
Support: Sona - Great sustain and AOE CC gives the ability to counter Leona's laning phase and to also stop a hard engage.
