Ranked ELO Requirement Changes for Season 2

Although the exact numbers are yet to be released for Season 2, we know that they WILL be changing, especially with the release of the Diamond league.

The current trophies on our profiles are dictated by last year's Season 1 trophy rankings. However, in Season 2 the rating requirements for each bracket are most likely decreasing, if not staying the same for the lower brackets.

According to RiotYegg
I can't go into too many details yet, but if you've already hit the required rating for a tier, you don't need to worry about losing it when we change over to the new numbers.

For reference, last season's breakdown was as follows:

Platinum (Top 0.2%) - 1900 and above (3v3: 1700+, pre-made 5v5: 1750+): a framed summoner icon in platinum, a platinum banner in summoner profile, a platinum forum badge and a special skin for Jarvan IV.

Gold (Top 3%) - Between 1520 and 1899 (3v3: 1490-1699, pre-made 5v5: 1500-1749): a framed summoner icon in gold, a gold banner in your summoner profile, a gold forum badge and a special skin for Jarvan IV.

Silver (Top 10%) - Between 1400 and 1519 (3v3: 1410-1489, pre-made 5v5: 1410-1499): a framed summoner icon in silver and a silver banner in your summoner profile.

Bronze (Top 25%) - Between 1249 and 1399 (3v3: 1249-1409, pre-made 5v5: 1249-1409): a bronze banner in your summoner profile.

Take note that "Top x%" indicates the top percentage of people out of EVERYONE who plays solo queue, including "unranked" players. In previous red posts, Riot has stated that historically up to 50% of total players make up the 1100~1200 ELO bracket. So don't feel bad if you're not bronze!

Look! Butterflies!

  1. That 50% below bronse is 45% noobs that bring the other 5% lower in elo all the time. Trolling/AFK/feeding/not countering the enemy/double lane picking since they dont want to support/just hit lvl 30 without runes or with tier 1-2 runes and do no damage at all.

I try to get me out off it myself and 9 out of 10 I carry team but lose cause 2 other lanes got fed.

  2. Yeah...I know I'm better than almost everyone I play with at 1150, but I can't get out. ELO HELL

  3. It sucks. I had six games lost as soon as I got into solo/duo and right now im at 8/9 with 1180. Its hard and frustrating man. I want to get up there but sometimes it feels hopeless. you just gotta shut up, grit your teeth and deal with these players. Some dont even deserve to go up because they get CAARRIED and poison higher elo's.

  4. "I know I'm better than almost everyone I play with at 1150"
I am not trying to be rude or anything, forgive me if i come out as it. But this thinking is poison, i cannot say i dont feel like this from time to time but it's when i am humble and point out my own flaws instead of the ones of my teammates that i become better at the game, and automatically gain elo.
I had been "stuck" in the 1400 bracket for months to end, it was just recently when i changed my attitude to a team helper instead of acting superior that i managed to raise it to 1900 within weeks, think about it.

  5. It's true what the poster above me said. I was "stuck" in 1100s for a long time cuz I only wanted to play mid or adc. Now that I started filling roles instead of doing whatever I want, I gained 200 ELO in like a week
