What it means

Riot has banned this computer's hardware from playing, whichever account signs in. It isn't a fault you can fix.

What to try first

Don't log in to VALORANT on this PC with another account. If you think the ban is a mistake, open a ticket from your own account.

Riot's table carries a warning. Riot has flagged its VALORANT code list as out of date, because a bug is making some VALORANT errors show up wrong. If the steps here don't match what you're seeing, Riot suggests a support ticket.

Is it you or Riot? If a lot of players got the same code at once, it's likely the servers. Check Riot's service status page for VALORANT before you start reinstalling things.

How long a VAN 152 lasts

Riot's VALORANT code table lists 152 as an HWID ban and gives the one number most people are looking for: it typically lasts 4 months. Riot's Vanguard article for the code adds that it's a restriction on the device, so reinstalling Vanguard or VALORANT, restarting or changing your connection won't touch it. There's no troubleshooting list because there's nothing broken.

Why other accounts get caught

An HWID ban follows the computer. Riot's hardware ban explainer warns that signing in on a banned PC with a different account, even someone else's, blocks that account on the machine too and can earn it a timed ban of its own, since it looks like an attempt to get around the original penalty. If you share a PC, nobody should log in on it until the ban runs out.

Riot says it reserves hardware bans for serious cases, cheating tools among them, and that a ban can sometimes be reviewed. You ask through a support ticket from the banned account (one ticket per account if several are affected). Riot doesn't promise to lift anything.

VAL 61, a different code, is an account ban on VALORANT rather than a hardware one.

    A ban can't be troubleshot from your PC. Open a ticket with Riot Player Support from your own account if you think it's a mistake or want details.
