When Karthus released as an original 40 champion, he wasn't much different than the one we know today. He'd safely farm mid, then ult during a teamfight and pick up easy assists. But the skeletal singer's old version of Death Defied (P) ended his respawn cooldown if he got a kill, making him near immortal.
