Instructions and Caveats:

• This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

God Tier: These champions are common bans and are likely perceived as being "overall extremely strong/broken". They have very obvious and/or flashy skills that make them appear stronger than other champions. You'll likely see these champions picked early on if they're not banned.

Tier 1: These champions are the ones you'll see in the majority of your games and are good to familiarize yourself with as you'l be battling against them a lot.

Tier 2: These champions are relatively strong and have historically been picked more often than other champions. They may have been nerfed at one point at another, but are still perceived as strong in their current states.

Tier 3: These champions aren't quite as popular as the rest of the champions in the first 3 tiers, but picking them one at a time isn't going to cause much of a concern on your team. However, if you have a team of 5 of them your teammates are likely to feel a bit uneasy about your chances of winning in solo queue.

Tier 4: Selecting these champions will likely cause a rift between you and your teammates, who will proceed to flame you if you fail your lane. Exercise caution when selecting these champions, as team morale often plays a big part in victory or defeat.

Champion Explanations

• Aatrox [Tier 1 Top] - Looking at Aatrox, it's tough to see how he could be difficult to play. Most players seem to be content button mashing and hoping that will be enough to take down enemy champions. However, he's got a ton of mechanics to practice in order to maximize his damage, and players are slowly but surely getting the hang of pound enemies to oblivion.
• Ahri [God Tier Mid] - After some initial uncertainty, players are quickly rotating back onto the Ahri train. While many people still have a somewhat distorted view of her not doing enough damage, she certainly has plenty to one shot a squishy and get away with it too.
• Akali [God Tier Mid] - Akali post-rework is one of those champions that everyone seems to look at and think, "she's probably really good...if only I didn't suck at her". Time will tell if that's true or not, but it certainly doesn't stop players from trying.
• Fiddlesticks [Tier 1 Support] - After the latest round of nerfs, Fiddlesticks is notably weaker than last patch. As a result, most people are rotating off him onto some of their other favorite supports. Not surprisingly Morgana is still very much on the top of everyone's minds since she's always been kept around as a result of her utility.
• Fizz [Tier 1 Mid] - The balance between unplayable and broken seems to notch on just a few stat point, and Fizz is a great example of that, and with a tweak here and buff there, he's back to being incredibly powerful again.
• Garen [God Tier Top] - Garen continues to dominate this patch, and not just because of his skin. As a true damage dealing lane bully, his strat is easy, but powerful.
• Graves [God Tier Jungle] - Somehow, Graves manages to stay off the nerf radar time and time again. His damage is insane, his mobility is obnoxious, and that's without even talking about his smokescreen....whose idea was that one anyway?
• Nidalee [Tier 1 Jungle] - Nidalee is back in popularity these last few patches after nerfs on other popular junglers. She's still not the most consistent of junglers, but she's just so darn fun to play and satisfying to 100 to 0 someone.
