Instructions and Caveats:

• This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

God Tier: These champions are common bans and are likely perceived as being "overall extremely strong/broken". They have very obvious and/or flashy skills that make them appear stronger than other champions. You'll likely see these champions picked early on if they're not banned.

Tier 1: These champions are the ones you'll see in the majority of your games and are good to familiarize yourself with as you'l be battling against them a lot.

Tier 2: These champions are relatively strong and have historically been picked more often than other champions. They may have been nerfed at one point at another, but are still perceived as strong in their current states.

Tier 3: These champions aren't quite as popular as the rest of the champions in the first 3 tiers, but picking them one at a time isn't going to cause much of a concern on your team. However, if you have a team of 5 of them your teammates are likely to feel a bit uneasy about your chances of winning in solo queue.

Tier 4: Selecting these champions will likely cause a rift between you and your teammates, who will proceed to flame you if you fail your lane. Exercise caution when selecting these champions, as team morale often plays a big part in victory or defeat.

Champion Explanations

• Alistar [Tier 1 Support] - For a support that's banned as often as Alistar, you'd be surprised how little he gets picked. Either way, players still fear his powerful all-in abilities and nearly impossible to kill tank status. 
• Camille [God Tier Top] - The latest changes on the resolve tree make her nearly unkillable early game. This plays right into her style of abusing enemy laners from a safe distance until she's farmed enough to 100 to 0 them.
• Darius [God Tier Top] - Darius buffs this time around are considerably good. When you add this to the new resolve tree, he's exceedingly strong and snowballs easily into the late game with his increased percentage based armor penetration on his Apprehend [E]
• Lee Sin [Tier 1 Jungle] - The loss of sightstone and Tracker's Knife definitely lost Lee a few fans, but players are still playing him. Good players are compensating with more control wards and some are even building Eye of the Equinox.
• Katarina [God Tier Mid] - Players are quickly learning to abuse the new Morellonomicon and Spellbinder on Katarina, two items that synergize perfectly with her playstyle. In her current form, Katarina is particularly difficult to deal with ever since they nerfed the Perfect Timing rune in Patch 8.4.
• Kha'Zix [God Tier Jungle] - The massive nerf to Perfect Timing makes it incredibly easy for Kha'Zix to snowball through the game now, resulting in more kills than ever before. 
• Rakan [Tier 1 Support] - Rakan's quickly rising through the ranks as one of the favored supports of high division players ever since he got the Apdo seal of approval.
• Rengar [Tier 1 Jungle] - Everyone is trying out the "new" AKA reverted Rengar, but so far it seems like the "old" Rengar was better. Meanwhile, he's still the most played jungler now that Lee Sin's lost his Tracker's Knife.
• Warwick [God Tier Jungle] - Warwick's early game dominance is realy starting to ramp up now, and most players who enjoyed Lee's early game are now moving over to Warwick instead if they haven't already decided to be Rengar mains.
• Xayah [Tier 1 Marksman] - Xayah in the current meta is amazingly good as a result of the exceessive number of assassins on the rift. Paired with Rakan, her ability to 2v5 is extremely high.
• Zed [God Tier Mid] - Zoe nerfs caused a lot of mid lane specialists to default back to their second favorite anti-fun champion, the master of shadows himself.
• Zoe [Tier 1 Mid] - Meanwhile, despite the nerfs to Zoe's kit, players are still banning her quite often out of habit. Even when she's not banned she's definitely picked up less than before, but the trauma of being one shot from the fog of war lingers on with many players.
