- Champions in BOLD I will talk about shortly
- Champions UNDERLINED may be over/undervalued, but aren't/haven't played enough for me to make a better judgement.
- Within each tier the champions are strongest from left to right, but within a tier each champion's strength is relatively close. This is especially true for Tiers 2 and 3 where these champions are ALL highly playable and player dependent on how strong they are in-game.
- This tier list takes data from ALL players; however, since the majority of players fall in the first three tiers, the majority of data points will come from there.
- Win Rates are important in analyzing each champion's strength, but are not the end-all criteria for any champion's position.
- The creator of this list is diamond, so there may be some personal bias towards higher tier play on certain champions.
Champion Explanations
- Azir [Tier 2 Mid] - Azir is definitely getting stronger and stronger as the bugs are worked out of his system. I think that as he is now he's fairly strong, but still needs a few more bug fixes before being reliable enough to be a true Tier 1 champion. That being said, his kit definitely has a ton of potential and I look forward to seeing more of him...eventually.
- Cassiopeia [God Tier Mid] - Cassiopeia's early game damage is back to being at an extremely suppressing state, and her late game now scales very well thanks to her rework. That being said, with melee assassins being extremely popular on the rift right now, it's not hard for her to pull off easy level 1~2 cheeses. That combined with the fact that most assassins no longer have CC means that she can easily counter their gap closers with her ultimate and quickly burst them down.
- Cassiopeia [Tier 1 Top] - Similar to her abilities mid, Cassiopeia is a great duelist and lane bully top lane as well. Although she needs blue to get to her full potential mid game, she does a fair job top. She also does a great job countering tanky champions once she gets her liandries.
- Elise [Tier 3 Jungle] - Despite the buffs to Elise this patch, it seems like it hasn't impacted her gameplay that much. The new jungle was already fairly kind to her, but it's really her team-fighting and effort to benefit ratios that still need tweaking. While her cocoon tends to be a fairly slow projectile and her main CC, hitting it doesn't always guarantee a kill. This combined with her weak late game teamfighting potential at low gold amounts keeps her from being higher.
- Galio [Tier 3 Mid] - Ever since AD mids have taken over the rift, Galio has gotten much weaker. Additionally, more mages are now high damage, sustained mages rather than tanky CC bots. With the current meta, Galio has trouble keeping up in teamfights, even if he lands a good ultimate.
- Hecarim [Tier 1 Jungle] - Hecarim's new buffs have been an absolute boon to him. Expect to see much more of the horsey in the future. While I'm still not so sure about this Hecarim mid that keeps getting hyped and expect that to be a passing fad, he's definitely very strong right now.
- Kalista [Tier 2 ADC] - Despite professionals having success with Kalista, it's also important to remember that she is an extremely high skill cap, high coordination AD carry. While she can pull off some amazingly flashy plays and outplays, in a solo queue setting she's still balanced by the skill needed to play her.
- Kennen [Tier 1 Top] - A definite underdog right now, Kennen is currently in sleeper OP status. His damage, poke, and CC are on par if not above Lissandra's, and I'd definitely expect to see more of him as the Season goes on, especially after Riot decides to nerf Lissandra with all the QQ going on.
- Lee Sin [Tier 3 Support] - Lee Sin support has been added due to popular request. On that note, I also need to add that playing Lee Sin support is absurdly troll (here's looking at you QTpie). Lee Sin's CC is essentially non-existent, and his only engage (besides assassinating) is basically an annoyingly difficult to pull off Blitzcrank hook. That being said, you're better off playing Jarvan or Fiora if you want a high damage melee support.
- Lissandra [Tier 1 Top] - Lissandra is definitely in a great place right now, and I'd say she's a little stronger than usual considering how popular she is in the professional scene. Expect a nerf soonish, but in the meantime she's greater in solo queue as well.
- Malphite [God Tier Top] - If I were to choose one champion that could easily take you from Bronze to Platinum the fastest, I'd say pick Malphite. Right now he's basically untouched, and with all the "caster" AD carries nerfed and the auto attacking ones being very popular, his ground slam is insanely good right now. Also, with Zed's popularity and the majority of junglers being AD based as well, he essentially counters entire teams just by being in the game.
- Nunu [Tier 3 Jungle] - Despite having strong objective control and good jungling capabilities, Nunu's very subpar right now in teamfights. Most champions are a bit too mobile to get hit by his ultimate, and so most of his power is banked on the AD carry being good enough to utilize bloodboil.
- Orianna [Tier 2 Mid] - Although her potential in a combo is still very high, her current status as a solo queue carry artist has dropped with the number of assassins on the field. Her ultimate is very dodgeable, so against most match-ups there's always a strong possibility of being outplayed. This combined with the nerfs on athene and morellonomicon over time have left her fairly balanced.
- Rek'Sai [God Tier Top/Jungle] - After this patch's nerfs, Rek'Sai's power has definitely fallen, but remains very high compared to other champions on the rift. We'll need more data to tell, but I believe she's still very strong and ban worthy.
- Renekton [Tier 1 Top] - They weren't kidding when they said the croc is back. Renekton's new found buffs are much better than the ones they gave Jax, and he's definitely very strong right now.
- Sona [Tier 1 Support] - Sona's recent nerfs have dropped her significantly. Her bullying and chasing power were both reduced, and at the moment I think Taric may be slightly better.
- Swain [Tier 1 Top] - With nerfs on Morellonomicon, Swain's gained an indirect power boost this time around. This combined with the fact that DFG will be removed from the game in patch 5.2 means Season 5 will likely be a great time to pick him up and get on board the Swain Train.
- Syndra [Tier 3 Mid] - This patch has been surprisingly brutal on Syndra, and her win rate has plummeted as a result. I'm sure people with pinpoint precision like Bjergsen will notice only a minor inconvenience, but others will find that her stun hit box seems awfully dodgeable now.
- Taric [Tier 1 Support] - Taric's still gaining ranks steadily as supports are nerfed left and right. His time to shine is soon. Diamonds.
- Zed [Tier 1 Mid] - I've talked about Zed many times before, but I'll make a concession. He's very strong if you practice and get good at him, so I'll give him a Tier 1 status as it doesn't take that long to master. However, it does take some studying up, and to learn his timing is a crucial part of his game. That being said, I personally think he's very balanced as most people understand how to outplay him at this point.
- The purpose of this list is for discussion and to provide a starting point for champion selection.

Thanks for placement, freelo pony gg.
ReplyDeleteRek'Sai is a girl.
ReplyDeleteFair enough
ReplyDeleteVel koz support should be a tier below what it is now, although somewhat viable, he is outplayed by actual supports much like most other apc supports. In the same way, azir support can be thrown in here. He is situationally a good support, great for disengage and poke
ReplyDeleteWhy has maokai top taken a hit down from 1st in tier 1 to 4th in tier 2? The win rate isnt absurdly low hovering around 49%. The top lane right now is more of a whittleing down lane which involves a lot of spell rotations, thus keeping his passive topped off. While not a absolute carry of the rework he was, hes by far the most consistent tank offering much more sustained cc and burst he provides (remember all abilitys chunk espeicaly on squishys mid game). Hes still tier 1 I think granted twords the mid-bottom.
ReplyDeleteAlthough he can hold his own top lane, he doesn't impact the game highly in a meaningful way, even if he wins his lane.
ReplyDeletedo you think annie wil be less powerfull without dfg?, i usually dont build it as i tend to initiate with tibber before dfg hits.. but theres alot of people crying already lol
ReplyDeleteTop lane sejuani is a serious thing to look at. NOT ap nuker, but instead a tanky fighter. Just ge an IBG with tank items and maybe an abyssal and your almost guanateed a win, especially if you can manage 40% cdr.
ReplyDeleteis it true that renekton the king has returned?
ReplyDeleteHow about Zyra jungle? She's my personal main, the only bad thing is her vulnerability to counter jungles, but she's a power house in the mid game.
ReplyDeleteSo Corkis w costing a lttle more mana drops him from god tier to tier 2? That makes no sense.
ReplyDeleteSupport synergy and other meta changes also cause him to lose value.
ReplyDeleteGood to see nasus back up in tier 1, popularity of irelia and possibly malphite means 0 way to stop farming and taking over a side lane to pressure inhibs.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that ranged jungle are good anymore. Since there are only 5 leashes now, Karthus, TF and cie are nerfed
ReplyDeleteKha'zix and Rengar both in tier 3 for jungling?
ReplyDeletewhat is your position on AP ezreal mid? I think its pretty strong, he has decent ap ratios and his q deals ad even when you build ap so if you get lichbane you get a source of constant hybrid damage, yes his enemies can hide behind minions, but you can still hit them with your w, and if you think it takes up too much mana you can get an early tear and build it into arch-angels.
ReplyDeleteThey're both very dependent on snowballing, and tend to be very squishy in teamfights if they don't.
ReplyDeleteHow would I build malphite top? You said earlier that malphite can carry one from bronze to platinum easy? I noticed that when i play him I build tanky but don't end up doing much damage. Would I build AP or AD?
ReplyDeleteAlso what runes would be best for J4 jungle? Is it even possible to golems, blue, wolves the red with just a machete and 2 health pots?
Why did lulu top/mid get moved down? :((
ReplyDeleteI guess that makes sense. I play them both a lot and I've gotten pretty good with them, so I don't see the downside of them that often.
ReplyDeleteAlso, shouldn't Diana mid be moved up because there is a rise of assassins?
ReplyDeleteIf you're already good at them feel free to continue playing them, they're just not as much of a point and kill type of champion anymore compared to someone like Jarvan or Vi.
ReplyDeleteWhy is hecarim tier 1 top now?
ReplyDelete2*
ReplyDeletefull tank is the best way to go malphite, get sunfire cape first item and more armour and mr
ReplyDeletemalphite has really good base scaling with q and his e scales off of armour so you can deal a ton of damage being tank, which i think is better than dealing a ton of damage being full ap and getting blown up
Karthus jungle over Warwick? Really? Also why is Wukong still tier 1 jungle
ReplyDeleteshe still deals an absurd amount of damage without dfg, and with riot's upcoming buffs for her which will be based around tibbers(maybe more aura dmg or on hit dmg), she will be super strong
ReplyDeleteLulu's damage is just a bit too low, plus Athene and Morellonomicon nerfs have indirectly nerfed her.
ReplyDeletetier one is good man
ReplyDeletebut he takes alot of damage from clears
Karthus jungle is very very strong right now since he can leash camps early to stay strong against counterjungling, and his mid-game clear is insanely strong. He also synergizes well with Zed mid since it allows your team to still have a strong AP presence.
ReplyDeleteI think you are underestimating the power of Sion in the top lane and the mid lane. I generally take Ignite(or TP)/Flash with Hybrid Pen reds(x9), Armor yellows(x9), M.pen blues (x9), and Hybrid pen Quints(x1) and Move Speed quints(x2). This coupled with 21/9/0 masteries makes Sion somewhat squishy early on, but has immense poke power in lane. Once a Sunfire Cape is taken as first item( vs AD) or Banshees Veil (vs AP), Sion starts to become the tanky behemoth that he is. For boots I generally take Sorc. Shoes for extra damage (usually after first item or before). During mid to late game, Sion is nearly unkillable and has crazy damage that he provides so well for his team. Please look into this.
ReplyDeleteIGN Kingb00 (two zeros). Patch 5.1.
Well about Malphite, I think going tank is the way to go. The only items I build that can help with more dmg, are Iceborn Gauntlet (Gives you some MUCH needed mana, some AP and ofcourse armor) and the Magic Pen boots. I'm not the best Malph out there, but it's my personal preference.
ReplyDeleteI thought I had Sion top a lot higher than I did. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm not sold on Sion mid though, I think as a mid laner he removes a lot of much needed waveclear and raw damage that AP mages provide.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious why Nautilus is mid Tier 2? This tweak was more like a buff for his late game and his crowd control is insane, sometimes game changing and he is an incredible tank. Can you explain why he is less favorable than Karthus or Sion or Hecarim?
ReplyDeleteI know but isn't it kinda hard to pull off? Especially for this elo. Just in comparison to how easy WW is to play.
ReplyDeleteKarthus may move down actually, did not realize that the number of leashes dropped significantly.
ReplyDeleteActually, I didn't notice they halved soft leashes this patch, Karthus jungle is significantly weaker now.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think TF is screwed but jungle Karthus should be run with spellvamp quints so he doesn't give a fk really.
ReplyDeleteAnd what about Nautilus? I mean, one thing I noticed as I played him is that people tend to underestimate his power. His ultimate can change the fate of a team fight, it is really hard to escape from him (at least people I play against tend to have a problem) and his passive does more damage than expected. His passive may seem too short but usually that is enough to hurt someone really bad.
ReplyDeleteThat also does not make sense. Last patch when they mentioned how tarics win rate was shooting up, they said they had no idea why.
ReplyDeletethe reason why is that the top 2 adcs are graves and corki and Taric works very well with them. Graves gets extra armor from his passive and then taric giving him even more armor and then stunning the enemy means he wins trades and all ins.
Corki has armor shred in his kit so when Taric gives him extra armor and he lowers theirs, again he will win trades and all ins.
Taric is continuing to climb so its a safe bet to say Corki is still a top tier adc.
I think Nautilus is a good champion, but fairly balanced. Many of the popular champions have strong mobility now, which makes it much less likely that you'll hit too many people with your ult in a single swing.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with that is that Corki's main spell is his Q, which deals magic damage and not physical damage, so he actually doesn't synergize nearly as well as Graves.
ReplyDeleteKarthus jungle is best with spellvamp quints, so you don't even have to 'dance', you can just tank the damage like a man (or a melee champion).
ReplyDeleteBut he isn't as heavily nerfed as Lucian and fits more into the meta than Ashe or MF (same (or more?) damage and good mobility). I think he should still be Tier 1.
ReplyDeletePersonally I haven't tried Sion mid, but because he cant wave clear really well, at low levels, and he has an ult that reaches top and bot in a matter of a few seconds, I don't see why he wouldn't be a decent mid laner. Definately not God Tier material though.
ReplyDeleteCassiopia is literally broken right now holy shit, especially in top lane.
ReplyDeleteI find she has the "Ryze" problem- Good bully early game but scales extremely well into late game
Corki's overall damage will come out almost exactly 50/50 magic and physical When you look at the chart at the end of the game.
ReplyDeleteI"m not sure about the actual damage but his Q does have an AD ratio. And its not as much The q that the stun helps you land, thats an aoe its not hard to land, its the ult shots those are very narrow.
Then their is the fact that corki pretty much is a counter to graves who is so high rated.
Iceborn Gauntlet and/or RoA into tank. Malphite utility and tankiness is what carries you, not his damage.
ReplyDeleteWhat is RoA?
ReplyDeleteHecarim was always strong, but his jungle power was reduced with the new jungle. Now that his early mana cost has been reduced and his healing cap from monsters increased, he is one of the best junglers out there in terms of sustain. That paired with his stickness and his gamechanging ultimate, make him a powerful choice right now.
ReplyDeleteWith the extra gold from the jungle items and the importance of objectives, I believe Udyr Jungle is making a comeback. Mid-late game, he just gets gold so fast, and has good clears, objective control and roaming in general. He does struggle with ganking, but in good hands, you can make the other jungler useless and deny him gold and XP. I really enjoy playing him, and I believe he could be higher in Tier 2 or low Tier 1.
ReplyDeleteWell I was going to say morde should get some time in the spotlight but with the removal of the DFG next patch not gonna bother
ReplyDeleteI need a new top champ and Im thinking about Kennen.
ReplyDeleteIs he really that good? Also, can anyone link me a season 5 Kennen top?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECaI5ffEOBo
ReplyDeleteIt's a Kennen MID game though by Voyboy but Kennen top should be built same and he has more favourable match-ups top lane. And yes he is really good (ult dmg is insane).
He's really strong right now, he has good poke in lane and even better teamfights, his ult dmg is insane, it can chunk down and stun the whole enemy team.
ReplyDeleteas a jungle main i'm more than satisfied with how the new jungle is going, especially after the 5.1 buffs to smite and gold. I'm finding myself having the most gold in the team by 3k almost every game playing in the jungle. Thats absolutely insane considering how weak S5 jungle was at the start of everything. Overall if anyone is looking into learning a new role this season to carry your asses out of bronze/silver/gold then i highly recommend jungle. Key points when jungling are that you need to farm farm farm farm. Never ever gank if you are not sure that the gank is going to be successful or if anything is going to come of it. I know that in lower elos everyone starts bitching and crying about how many times the other team's jungler ganked 3 times and how they are going to report you or go AFK if you don't gank. Honestly there is a mute button and just press it and do your own thing. I have no idea how many times that happened and i ended up carrying the game cause im super fed just by farming the jungle. Also make sure that as a jungler you maintain good vision across the map especially dragon and baron areas, while sweeping wards by getting a sweeper. Many low elo junglers have the idea that the support should be doing all the warding and that is totally wrong. As a jungler you should be constantly moving all across the map farming and counter jungling and leaving deep wards in order to see where the other jungler is and to plan what you can do from that. This helps into avoiding any possible counter ganks or even getting caught when trying to counter jungle. The best junglers atm who can singlehandedly carry a team by themselves are jarvan IV, VI, kha zix, lee sin, wukong and last but definitely the best jungler atm is rek sai. I've carried insane amounts of games with her, shes broken, shes definitely the go to jungler this season unless she gets nerfed to the ground. I hope my tips were helpuful, need anything just pm me :)
ReplyDeleteRather than give a full opinion on Kennen, I'll just list a few items that're good:
ReplyDeleteLiandry's, Rylai's, Abyssal Scepter, Zhonya's Hourglass, Void Staff, Sorcerer's Shoes, Mercury Treads
Kennen has been in a good spot for some time now, I've been using him on and off ever since lulu top became a thing and I normally get good results off him. His poke with q-w is pretty strong and his lack of mana is a boon as he can stay in lane for quite some time. He can be hard to gank due to e-q-w leading to a stun, free armour and mr (from e) and a move speed boost. Late game he isn't the best if he doesn't have ult up due to his short range, but in a teamfight he can easily win it in seconds.
ReplyDeleteHe can build a varity of ways, utility, mage, teamfight, splitpush(with sone ad items) but he can't chop and change and you need to commit to one build path each game. If you're looking for a versatile champ who can do a multitude of things then kennen is your champ.
(Imo the only champ who could be viable in all roles, you can pick kennen and go wherever you need to as he can do it all)
Udyr, struggling at ganks. Udyr is arguably one of the strongest gankers due to high speed, a stun, tankiness and high damage. He's like GP in that he's good early game and scales really well. Versatile, always relavent and with trick2g plenty of high elo info on him. People don't give trick enough credit as if you actually listen to him he actually talks a lot aboit how to play the game and udyr, along with decision making and playing from behind
ReplyDeleteSyndra was fun while it lasted... RIP
ReplyDeleteRod Of Ages
ReplyDeleteIs Renekton Back?!!?!
ReplyDeletewhy zyra support so high in tier
ReplyDeletedont see much challemger using her
"Hecarim's new buffs have been an absolute boon to him. Expect to see much more of the horsey in the future"
ReplyDeleteWhy was this sentence not:
"Hecarim's new buffs have been an absolute boon to him. Expect to see much more of him in the horsey-able future."
Is Lee Sin suppoer AD, or is it AP Lee Song Supprt with challenjour mechonics?
ReplyDeleteHey Sun, do you still check your email? I had a few questions about 5.1.
ReplyDeleteAnyone has some tips for hecarim?
ReplyDeleteAnd builds for him would be great too.
Corki's Q deals magic damage, which means taric's armor reduction doesn't help him as much as graves.
ReplyDeleteI hope not.
ReplyDeleteTry Evelynn with Tiamat. (3 hits). Her damage is insanely strong, but she depends on snowball (like Kha or Rengar).
ReplyDeleteYou should make a special tier for lulu as lulu can honestly play every role
ReplyDeleteTop lane start flask, rush a trinity. Then, I like to build a PD/SS, either swift boots, mobis, or mercs. From there, either build a zephyr or bulk up. The trinity does insane damage, along with the boots. Either way, you'll be fine.
ReplyDeleteOr you can be me and cheese strat full damage hec and oneshot anyone trying to take inhibs. Homeguard op.
hey guys im gold 1 and i currently play gnar rumble and irelia
ReplyDeleteim looking for one more diverse pick to keep things fun and my counters non existent
im trying to pick one more top laner that brings something that the previous 3 dont bring in terms of gameplay... im not looking for something better just something different
renekton, lissandra nasus and malphite come to mind atm so im wondering whos a good one to pick up thanks!
Yep, just replied
ReplyDeleteWell played
ReplyDeleteTake my advice with a grain of salt; I'm only Silver 3 but I like to think I know top lane pretty well. My personal favorite champion at the moment, out of everyone, is Swain. He's a monster in solo queue and his power is steadily rising. He also has a pretty high skillcap and he counters a lot of the champions that counter those 3 (Nidalee, Vayne, Riven, etc.). Maokai is also a great champ to pick up; he's very strong and can easily build almost straight tank, something that's not as great on the 3 you mentioned. Out of the ones you suggested, Renekton has the most unique playstyle in comparison to the ones you play, but Lissandra is my personal favorite. She's plenty fun to play and she's relevant at all stages in the game, not to mention she's slowly becoming more popular in high-level play.
ReplyDeleteTl;dr, Swain's my favorite, Maokai is awesome, Renekton's unique, I recommend Lissandra.
She's still God Tier if you're really good at landing her stun. It's just that she now takes "more skill than usual" and as a result lands in Tier 3.
ReplyDeletei honestly dont know why they nerfed her. i mean yeah her long range stun was stupid and her early game was strong but i never thought she was ban worthy or ermahgord shes so broken. i mean she takes skill so if u win lane with her u probably deserve it.
ReplyDeleteTo admin, I'm sure you saw the little post about Zed in the most recent patch notes. It was finished off with the very interesting phrase 'balance is weakness, not for long'. On top of this a post on surrender@20 a few weeks ago had a dev talking about Zed counter play "There are some counterplay issues with a few assassins in our game. These problems are pretty complex ones to solve, and some of the champions you mention definitely need some changes to stay healthy (I think Zed is probably at the top of that list right now)." That was from riot jag. I think this perhaps hints at Zed getting some kit reword maybe? What to people think?
ReplyDeletesilver 1 looking for a new jungle i main shaco and prefer assassins over anything any reccomendations
ReplyDeletefor someone whos silver 3 your knowledge is better than mine bro thanks! i think ill try renekton just cuz i used to main him when i was silver 5 in the beggining of season 4 and i feel like my mechanics have gotten better since so if his buffs are true im going with renekton maybe i could try swain in the mid lane and play him top if my team miscommunicates in champ select or something lol
ReplyDeleteThey'll likely do some balancing act between his skillset. My guess is they'll make his R weaker and his melee nuke a bit stronger.
ReplyDeletefiddlesticks vi rek sai skarner are all good at picking off squishies
ReplyDeleteWhy has nidalee fallen off top lane? I still find her very strong and viable along with being able to dominate a game
ReplyDeleteHi anoyone knows what are the soft leash changes?? because i only jungle with kayle and tf :OOOO
ReplyDeleteWhich champions out of these would be the best for climbing the ladder/carrying atleast for the beginning part of the season? Wukong, Pantheon, Fizz, Talon, Jarvan, Vi, Malzahar and Hecarim. I know it's better to focus on a few champions and get really good at them so I was just wondering who to main for now.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
initiation - cc - mobility = freelo IMO (low and high elo) but this champs are a little more difficult
ReplyDeletewise words man... honestly this helped alot because i am very new to jungling in general its the last role i bothered learning because its so much different than other roles
ReplyDeleteanyways what are your thoughts on skarner and how would u suggest to path him?
id rather go retarded with rumble
ReplyDeletelol good i hate that 5 man ult
ReplyDeleteTaric doesn't have armor reduction, he buffs armor, corki has armor reduction.
ReplyDeleteYou have the abilities wrong, this is why both what your saying and you moving corki down over an abilities mana cost going up doesn't not make sense.
Added Top Hecarim and Support Lee Sin
ReplyDeleteAP LEE SONG SUPPORT LOL GG
Shouldn't affect you as Kayle, she's strong jungle either way but TF is near useless jungle now. The camps reset after 5 ranged hits (without you taking dmg) instead of ten meaning you will take way more damage.
ReplyDeleteTaric does not have armor reduction, Corki does. You have the abilities wrong., This is why you don't make any sense nor does your reason for moving corki down. Hes easily still the best ADC in the game.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if trolling...
ReplyDeleteACTIVE: Taric shatters his gemstones, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies within 200-range and reducing their armor for 4 seconds.
Not sure if trolling.
ReplyDeleteOn the same ability, the passive
Passive: Taric gains 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 bonus Armor and provides an aura that increases the Armor of himself and nearby allies by 12% of his own Armor.
This is the part that has the synergy, not the active.
That passive works with all AD carries in lane and has nothing to do with Corki.
ReplyDeleteIf you mean Corki does better against Taric, armor is on a scale of diminishing returns, which means that the more armor that an enemy champion starts with, the less flat armor penetration will increase your overall damage.
Orianna and Lux tier two mid? Are you kidding me? Orianna is amazing, always. Her teamfight impact is huge regardless if her ult occasionally gets juked in lane. The morello and athene changes have barely impacted her viability. Also Xerath also gets countered by assassins along with many other mid lane mages and is still tier 1. Considering Zyra is tier 1, who has practically no mobility and is super paper, is a feast for assassins. And for Lux she gives a barrier, cc, dmg, and great teamfight burst. Definitely tier 1 worthy too.
ReplyDeleteTL;DR I see no reason for Ori to be tier two especially when comparing the cons you listed for her to other mid laners listed in tier one who suffer from the same thing and/or worse
No, your not reading what I'm typing.
ReplyDeleteIts the combo of the passive raising Corkis armor and Corkis E lowering theirs that makes him win trades and all in's.
It basically makes it so that corki has WAY more armor then his opponent because his becomes higher and theirs lower.
If corki has 50 armor and so does his opponent. and Taric buffs his armor by 20 and then corkis shred lowers their armor by 20
now corki has 70 armor and they have 30, Which equal heavy advantage Corki.
super paper..... Well isn't that stronger paper?
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean now, that's definitely a big difference and should help him out-trade most people pretty handily.
ReplyDeleteI really hope they do not nerf Lissandra, she has already been taken down a peg when her w got nerfed, then main reason she is so strong is because she has 3 forms of CC, and a mobility ability. Really hope she becomes the next Lee Sin.
ReplyDeletemalzahar
ReplyDeleteits called tier 3
ReplyDeleteIs Kha'zix really tier 3 jungle? I mean if he gets a little bit ahead he will carry, and with more gold in the jungle that will just help him no?
ReplyDeleteInteresting idea, thanks for the response!
ReplyDeleteNautilus should be added to the lsit by now. Since his latest tweak he's a treath to top laners
ReplyDeleteLux and Ori are not as consistent in what they offer as xerath is. If you are having a lot of success on a tier 2 champ rejoice my friend for you will probably be safe from any nerf bats this season.
ReplyDeleteMalzahar is incredibly difficult to deal with especially in low elo. Hes a free trip out of bronze. His ratios, silence, and dots plus his get out of jail free card ult make him rather simple to be effective with. Wukong starting with tiamat to brut to lw or hex then to tank is incredibly effective. His stealth mechanic, assasination potential, armor shred, natural tankiness, and aoe cc is strong and reliable.
ReplyDeleteGraves and Jinx are the ADC Gods yet Graves beats the shit out of Jinx. Also SSJ I Implore you to give us incite on what will happen to some champs with the removal of Deathfire Grasp plz. Veigar will definitely be bad, Ahri is getting buffs to compensate but why the fuck did they remove the dmg amp off her Charm and idk about LB i still think she will stay where she is or may move a little lower.
ReplyDeletehey just wondering about your thoughts on lowering warwick to tier 2. was it the tweak on stalkers blade? or just more blowback from the nerf on skirmishers? also id like some opinions on which jungle item to use now on warwick. i main jungle currently as warwick and jarvan. i also play some amumu. currently in silver 4. prefer more tanky champions any suggestions on new junglers to try this season?
ReplyDeleteI think they'll buff veigar up actually.
ReplyDeleteI think Veigar will rise rather than go down, since lower elo players forget to trigger their dfg a lot.
So honestly the change won't do much except make him better IF they buff him, which they should.
I really like Orianna and Azir (Both my favorite champs)
ReplyDeleteMaybe put Azir in Tier 2 is ok, (Her ultimate in some cases still bugs.) So I can agree that he's not that reliable to be tier 1 or God tier.
But I think that orianna, if well played its still relevant and strong enough to be Tier 1, she's a monster in TF, and I haven't seen assasins that much.
That's only my opinion
Sorry if I made grammar mistakes, English is not my lenguaje, lol.
Diana.
ReplyDeleteNot joking.
Try her out.
Nocturne is also cool, but isn't very strong atm, but I don't know why.
Rengar is good aswell.
You only mentioned Skarner once on the entire list...
ReplyDeleteI top as Skarner, and I'd say I do pretty well at it.
Okay, I loved malphite when I first started playing, then I stopped.
ReplyDeleteSo I need a build for him.
Specifically runes though, what are the best ones for him?
Her teamfight isn't a monster. I mean, what about Brand, Zyra, Lissandra, Anivia, Swain, Annie and Cassiopeia? She is a very powerful champion, but actually others champions do the same job and the meta (in all lanes) doesn't benefit Orianna. (In top every popular pick is ranged or melee with high mobility, Gnar, Irelia, Liss, for example). In bot, Jinx with her long range and Graves with his E. Vayne is very very popular, and I won't talk about Sivir. Popular supports actually are Janna or Sona, generally ranged supports or Thresh. Imo.
ReplyDeleteHowever, in 5v5 ranked is very powerful, with her teamates in skype, for example.
Simply Sejuani. She is very very powerfull, I have 75 wins and 30 loses wth Sejuani. Her ultimate needs a bit of skill, but... She is very very very very very op.
ReplyDeleteI think Veigar needs a rework, in his abilities.
ReplyDeleteNidalee's nerf.
ReplyDeleteMaybe.
ReplyDeleteI think they should worry about champs like olaf first though.
Simply because it was retarded. The way her balls interacted with E made no sense and offered very little room for enemy counterplay. You saw a ball, position yourself in a way you don't get hit by it and anyway you get stun for no real reason. Now it makes sense and offers some counterplay, and makes Syndra what it was supposed to be: a high skillcap champion who will still be strong for those good with her, and will be an easy target for the rest.
ReplyDeleteUdyr doesn't struggle at ganks, it's players that don't know anything about him. The normal soloqueue Udyr player goes like that: AFK farming in the jungle, take every buff possible and pray for him to be able to "carry" lategame after all that farm.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, a good Udyr is a terryfing ganker who can stick to you forever even if you have dashes.
I think Veigar will be just fine =)! I can't remember to use the fricken active items many times. I just cant remember at all, it's impossible. But still he bursts like a mofo with Ultimate. bitches going down. any squishy is going down. farmed up Q.
ReplyDeleteI recommend Hybrid pen, Armor, MR, AP for runes.
ReplyDeleteI like to rush an early chalice because it solves your mana problems completely (howewer I don't recommend building it to an Athene's).
If you're fed, you can build some damage, Sunfire, Sorc Shoes and Abyssal combo deals tons of damage. You can always pick up the Frozen Heart and the Iceborn for a lot of Armor, Mana and CDR (you can sell Chalice by now). Last item is situational, it will depend on the enemy team.
If you wanna build straight tank then you should get Merc Treads or Tabis and swap Abyssal with Banshee's and Sunfire with Randuin's.
Hope I helped. :)
Yep great stuff =)!!!! So exciting and nice stuff... thanks for the new list, finally. Yup. Mid-January (pre-season 5-season 5 change) tier list this is.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with rekt sai, I think she is tier 1 myself. Possibly people that I see just cannot play her also. But I think of her as a T1 top.
Yeah dude damn it can be crazy. I once got rekt by a top skarner -.- yuck. Blade of the Ruined King and he got ahead on farm against me; I am completely done with. Rekt. he gave me mercy and just kept on farming&pushing but I got really embarrassed.
ReplyDeleteYes, annoying and crazy!! Crazy as heck.
ReplyDeleteI am also Silver IV :-) and i like tanky champions too man. What server are you on, if you could tell me?
Sejuani is so crazy. gets tanky as FOOOOKKK and still does very scary damage.
Yup Syndra got butchered
ReplyDeleteYes he is insane. Just like I said in the comments of last tier list =)!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI recommend running Exhaust/Ignite/TP. In that order of importancy. usually exhaust is damn good when it's available to use!!!
I'm sorry but Janna's nerf on her Q has been significant. She basicaly touch her tornado twice less (even more) than before. This is a lot of pressure lost for trades. Her WR% was over 53-54% the few weeks before 5.1 and I'm pretty sure she would at least loose 1% win rate with this change. It makes her more balanced for the pro scene...but it's not like she has been dead OP for lower elo, this girl definitly need skill especially on her R).
ReplyDelete"beats the shit out" I won't say that, he just has a slight edge. Her prime counter is definitly Sivir (Shield absorb zap and rocket) and Lucian (in lane, due to burst-mobility...but keep harrassing him long range is sufficient...it goes the same with Graves, going under zap range is awfull as he will dash-Q in with true grit and minigun AS boost is longer to launch than his E boost...)
ReplyDeleteI can see where you're coming from and I agree really.... She is squishy also....
ReplyDeleteThanks! I didn't know about sorc sunfire and abyssal!
ReplyDeleteI'll try it out!
Thank you so much! :D
Though I haven't really touched him in ranked, at the moment with the popularity of Riven and caster like top laners, Garen is pretty strong for solo queue and I'd argue tier 1 is more appropriate.
ReplyDeleteim on na. thanks alot ill have to try her out. thats what i was looking for i hate champs like rammus that have no damage i like to blow up squishys
ReplyDeleteI feel like Janna right now is balanced though, she is strong but has no actuall heal and a lot of utility comes from items. I think some of her scaling needs to be toned down maybe, but the tornado nerf just means that Janna players have to be more precise with their spells and a little more skill intensive to do well
ReplyDeletehmm tbh skarner isn't good at all right now, especially after he got indirectly nerfed by reducing the cost of QSS. His 1 vs 1 duels are very good but his ganks pre 6 are terrible and for a gank to work post 6 u might have to flash sometimes. What i suggest doing is farm farm farm with skarner and almost never gank especially pre 6. Start gromp and smite it immediately, proceed to doing blue buff, then wolves. Go back and buy RANGERS trailblazer and conitnue farming your jungle. Once you are level 6 switch the rangers trailblazer for stalkers blade in order to get more efficient ganks and look for a gank. If none continue farming until you decide to go to dragon or a possible counter gank. As far as items go on skarner you might go for the off tank build. This includes warior enchantment, trinity force and then full tank. If you started off badly or you fell behind a little i suggest building full tank which consists of juggernaut enchantment, iceborn gauntlet, banshees etc... Just a quick tip, always try building a spell blade item on skarner as this helps his damage a lot. Overall if you're looking into playing a new jungler i honestly don't recommend skarner, there are much better junglers than him that can do his job and much more. Hope this helped :)
ReplyDeleteSince Tristana is now already reworked, is the build still the same? My usual build is: IE, shiv, bk shoes, lw, bloodthirster, mercurial, sell shoes for zephryl, sell shive for phantom dancer. Does this still work well on the reworked tristana? Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteSSJSuntastic, can you add leona top to the tier list? I've been playing her a LOT, and from this I can draw:
ReplyDeletePros
- She is an extreme lane bully, shutting down any melee laner except Darius and Irelia
- Builds very similar to Irelia
- Good splitpush and dueling
- Great at snowballing games
- Destroys squishy teams
- Snowballs heavily
Cons
- Weak when behind
- Really an all in champion and nothing else
- No passive in lane
- Gets destroyed by ranged champs in lane
- Damage falls off if enemy team isn't very squishy (however not on a scale of pantheon, so she doesn't fall off hard)
I'd say she's niche pick status but she's probably high tier 3 - mid tier 2.
Everything how i want...
ReplyDeleteWhy do people (even pro players) prefer Xerath over Vel'koz?
ReplyDeleteI mean they have similar kits, same advantages and disadvantages.
Then why is Xerath a fairly popular mid laner and why is Vel'koz mostly played as a support?
Xerath has more range and his skillshots are pretty much instant, making them harder to dodge.
ReplyDeleteXerath over Velkoz:
ReplyDelete1/ stun
2/ mana
3/ execution (single target low health)
Velkoz over Xerath:
1/ ultimate high damage + slow
2/ ultimate AoE and not blocked by Yasuo/Braum
As a support, Velkoz can save mana; and his ultimate is likely to hit (even a double kill). When Velkoz goes as a mid laner the opponent is likely to Recall when low health to avoid that deadly ulti (but Xerath can catch them by surprise with his ulti range)
one of the main reason why xerath is preferred is because he max q and start poking from the other side onf the lane while having an almost sure cc that keeps him fairly safe as an immobile mage.
ReplyDeleteVelkoz instaed max w that is highly relian on his e to apply the full damage so vel koz has less lane presence than xerath, also his cc is very unreliable and i don't knw but i feel velkoz is squishier than xerath
tristana will still be an hipercarry so the build won't change, you go ie,phantom(cause statik now is only for people with high aoe),last whisper, bork(better than bloodthirster because tristana late game won't even use her spells),and as last item buy guardian or something defensive....oh and don't forget berseker
ReplyDeletelate game garen deal less damage than an alistar without a single ap XD
ReplyDeleteYeah, Xerath's range is insane.
ReplyDeleteGaren still does quite a bit of damage late game, even for a tank. I dont understand why everyone says otherwise .-.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried her top? Nearly unstoppable.
ReplyDeleteIts just that his sustain isn't as good as it used to and he can get executed easily now, still good tho
ReplyDeleteI play Garen as one of my three main champions and I can safely say that although his damage does fall off late game against bruisers/etc, he's still more than able to burst a squishy carry with his full combo at all points in the game.
ReplyDeleteI definitely suggest Fiddle, he's one of the best squishy squashers in the jungle right now and hard to play well against if you know how to use his ult/positioning well.
ReplyDeleteYep, several times. early game shure quite nice. I won against Riven in lane. but come mid-late game i got totally annihilated in 1v1 lmao. Tier 1 for me. good but not god tier worthy for my liking.
ReplyDeleteonly is ultimate do damage,q is just one stronger auto and e hits like a feather.
ReplyDeleteOnly way garen will do kills in a late teamfight is by stealing it with ultimate.
Don't forget his utility is next to none since he can't protect and can't cc
Yup... mana from passive. but yeah people already said the reasons. I like Xerath a lot more.
ReplyDeletedid you get rekt'sai ?
ReplyDeletewhat did you build with rekt'sai?
ReplyDeletekha zix can no more 100-0 squishies cause hard nerfs and you really need to snowball hard for being relevant
ReplyDeleteimho lissandra isn't a problem,if you are a tank just buy a spirit visage and ignore her,she has cc and escapes but everyone can menage to kill her easily if she screws up
ReplyDeleteAre there any good late game gods in the jungle? I've tried Rengar but i feel like I get one shotted by anyone
ReplyDeletewin lane lose game
ReplyDeletetry renekton,as fun i guarantee you he is one of the funniest top laners in the game(dashing to minions,qw the opponent and dashing away feels cool and rewarding).
ReplyDeleteHis midgame is superstrong and i feel you can win every teamfight in midgame with a fed renekton, also his early game is very strong too so you can snowball easily.
he got no hard counters in lane, the closest one is maybe vayne but i don't think a lot of people play her in gold 1 as toplaner;the closest counters to him are ranged people (but after you build resistances you can ignore 90% of them and outburst them easily)and sustained fighters(in this case just abuse mobility and burst and you win)
try to push and win games asap since you falls off late game and max E as a second spell and you'll be fine(sorry for some grammars mistakes)
fiddlestick and sejuani are late game gods with their op aoe damage.
ReplyDeletethere aren't really 1v1 lategame junglers, fiddlestick can 1v1 but only if the enemies lacks hard cc.
everyone is god tier if mastered apart urgot...poor urgot
ReplyDeletei thought you moved kass to teir 2/
ReplyDeletewhy was TF jungle removed?
ReplyDeletehe changed his mind XD
ReplyDeleteas a pure tank sejuani is the way to go,lot of %hp based damage and really strong ultimate on top of high utility(permaslow) and high cc
ReplyDeletegraves is an early game ad carry while jinx is an all around ad carry so jinx will normally lose to graves in the early game but she outscales him pretty easily
ReplyDeletethey'll buff every champion that used dfg as core, just wait pbe's launches
ReplyDeleteeasily outtraded, mana hungry and no way to sustain like maokai, tier 3 at best
ReplyDeleteWhy was TF jungle remove and what are soft leash changes
ReplyDeletesalty kass main here, asking why kass is so low when he is constantly picked in ogn and lpl(more then his ad counterpart zed)
ReplyDeleteGood Job making the list, i have been waiting for it :D
ReplyDeleteSigh.
ReplyDeleteTF Removal reason & soft leash explanation - soft leash is when u get the jungle creeps to go back and forth on the edge of their range from their camp. if you did it (previously) there was a max of 10 times you can do it before the camp gets a HARD reset meaning all his hp is returned. NOW however, you can only do it 5 times meaning its much less reliable. tf relied on this "Soft" leash so much that now he cant jungle at all.
ReplyDeleteI also don't understand why he is so low either. If Kassadin is tier 3 i argue that Zed should also be tier 3, since both are hard to master and there isn't that much difference in their win rates.
ReplyDeletei just carried a 50 minute game today as kha
ReplyDeleteThere's no such thing as a "late game jungler". Jungle is all about impacting lanes and objectives early for your team and giving them the platform to succeed in all of the major engagements. Their gold income is much lower than a competent solo laner, so their impact pretty much always falls off the longer the game goes, no matter which champion is selected.
ReplyDeleteHec above Mumu and Wu? C'mon. I love Mr. Horse, but he lacks the game changing CC to rate him above The Mummy or the Monkey. Can I get an amen?
ReplyDeleteagree. his winrate is still only 50% and i assume that is because of hec top
ReplyDeletevvvortic your like everywhere man jesus...
ReplyDeletei think she is fairly counterable imo. yeah she has alot of cc but she lacks damage if u go bruiser and if u go full damage your team has no tank. so she definetly has her vunerabilities. and shes also hard to play. rumble is sleeper OP in solo Q but hes pretty hard to play so people dont really bother trying it.
ReplyDeletegraves beats jinx in lane but jinx outscales graves so its an even matchup in my opinion
ReplyDeleteYeah. His buff definitely helped a lot, and his winrate will probably rise a little, but #1 in Tier 1? -__-
ReplyDeleteThen again...I might end up eating my words in a few weeks...
can someone explain the renekton buffs? i tried him in some normal games to test him out and i obliterated everyone. but i feel like hes the same renekton as before its just people didnt know how strong he was... so he gains rage from fighting champions and his healing from his Q scales better? thats it? how is that enough to put him in tier 1? honestly the renekton buffs were tldr for me but i dont understand how they make him that much better. i mean im cool with it cuz he feels stronger but i dont know how lol
ReplyDeleteyeah but her Q has the same utility its just harder to land. in the end of the day shes still a very strong support
ReplyDeleteher ultimate heals u
ReplyDeleteYour understanding of what a jungler is, is misleading due to the fact a jungler is supposed to take advantage of the jungle gold and exp also your theory is basically saying jungles are supports on steroids which there not and saying that most end up with less gold than a laner is a understatement since 90% of junglerz end up with more gold than the average adc since large amounts of landers can't last hit to save there life
ReplyDeleteIf Jungle doesn't finish the game 4th in gold on the team of 5 people, then the laners were truly awful.
ReplyDeleteseems so. hes a heavy lane bully great mid game and falls of late but he scales well as a tank anyways so later u can just focus on peeling
ReplyDeleteyour arguement that junglers are irrelevant late game is invalid though... amumu is a late game monster so even if he doesnt provide amazing ganks early that doesnt mean he wont be a menace in teamfights
ReplyDeleteFor almost 2 seasons, he was the king of the top lane, so everyone has always known he was strong. But, as it goes in League, buffs to some champs and meta changes didn't favor him in s4. But, now that his fury bar increases faster, he can play aggressive more often and that will cause him to force his lane opponent out of lane more often. I think he'll be on the rise again, which is a scary though.
ReplyDeletekha still has amazing cleanup in fights. wait for cc to be blown and go for an adc and get them resets. He also arguably scales harder than almost all junglers.
ReplyDeletetrue unless you build trailblazer
ReplyDeleteI've been of the opinion that Hecarim has been quite undervalued as a champion for the last few months, and while not perhaps "secretly OP", he has been about mid-high Tier 2, as a jungler, IMO.
ReplyDeleteThe new buffs definitely help his sustain a bit, but I don't think they're game-changing, massive buffs for him, but rather small quality of life changes that ought to make his early-game a little more consistent.
I don't play lane Hecarim and haven't been paying a ton of attention (though a little bit) to his recent jump in popularity as a top- and mid-laner, but I don't think these changes will make a massive difference for him except for in matchups where he was already quite capable of winning (against most assassins, for example).
I think he's mid-low Tier 1 as a jungler right now, and mid Tier 3 as a top- and mid-laner.
I haven't been playing Renekton on 5.1 at all, but he seems improved based on my observations.
ReplyDeleteThe big difference with the patch is that his fury disappears more quickly, meaning that you'll want to play more aggressively in lane to do well, and that his kit is designed to interact more with champions than before. Renekton ought to be stronger than he was before overalll, but it's important to take the changes into consideration.
He's still not particularly meta, and hasn't been buffed to the point where I would expect the meta to change a bit around him. I would put him around the bottom of Tier 1, personally.
Pick up Annie. She's extremely easy to play and does very well against assassins in general, being considered a counter to most.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, inevitably, you'll get stuck in an unfavorable matchup against an assassin. Play hyper-passively. Giving up CS is better than kills, usually. Be sure to let your lanes know when they roam, since you usually won't be able to follow (you'll want to probably push down your tower fairly quickly and start trying to force fights at objectives in an effort to catch up).
Apparently you've never played Master Yi.
ReplyDelete
