Najin Mokuza's Jungle 10 Commandments for Solo Queue

Even though you spend most of your time fighting against AI creeps, jungling's not exactly the easiest position for most players. Knowing what to do is half the battle, and mechanics are less important than using them in the right manner.

Najin Shield's jungler Mokuza from Korea wrote up a few specific rules which were kindly translated by maknoonfan11. Check them out below:

Translated English Text:
  1. Don't gank a lane that's completely lost
  2. Don't gank a lane that doesn't buy a ward on his first back to base.
  3. Don't gank a lane that pushes but doesnt ward
  4. Dump the midlaner that doesn't come to help leash
  5. Always be prepared for enemy jungler to come counter jungling
  6. Help the lane that is already winning and help them ward their surroundings.
  7. Help out mid as much as possible, show your face even if you are just passing by.
  8. Before Level 6, gank top at least once.
  9. Communicate with your support player on where the enemy wards are.
  10. Even if you follow all these commandments, losing games are still lost.( there are games nothing can be done about. )

Essentially, it boils down to this: Jungling (and every other lane) is about making the most out of your time. Every moment you're doing something that's not worthwhile or nothing at all is a moment that you're falling further behind in the game.

Even though the game is a 5v5 battle, if you want to win then the best way to do it is for each player to perform a little better than their counterpart in the game. In terms of junglng, this is the way to do it.

In solo queue, junglers must figure out which people they can rely on, and which people are just going to get them killed. (AKA waste time)

What do you guys think about the "rules"? Do you agree or disagree? Got any other tips? Comment below!

Nice article! The only thing I disagree with is the emphasis on leaving people alone in the 1st four rules, sometimes it is best to babysit weaker players IMHO, no harm in some friendly instruction to the non-leashing mid- or non-warding lane, if done with tact and a friendly demure it often will solve the problem!

  2. I find that if a lane is having trouble, I ward up my jungle entrances (gogo sight stone), that way if they try and counter me, my team can react. Then just babysit as much as possible to push that tower. Once the tower is pushed, ward their jungle, so the pushed tower laner can then use their jungle for farm. Only works when people cooporate and listen obviously. Overall though, I would tend to agree with him, especially since this guy is probably double my 'elo'.

Hi Fs IBackPack, that's a very good point on the non-leashing mid and non-warding lane. I think Mokuza's rule on that one mostly stems from the fact that he's playing at a very high elo where they should probably know better haha. Thanks for commenting!

Hi Scott, that sounds like a reasonable strategy, you'll have to do it early on though! Usually when a lane starts losing, invading their jungle for creeps tends to be more trouble than it's worth if the enemy has bursty heroes with gap closers (which they generally do). I'm also a big fan of sightstone on junglers though!

I already have mechanics, but i miss in some points of general knowing mostly..
    More rules, more rules!
I like them all, and agreed... i can figure what and why he is trying to show with it

  9. Good to do is also lane swapping, it helps à lot jungler that needs afk farming à bit, even For like 5 minute.. The carry/support lane will push and ward. And the botlane will farm underturret. Enemy will focus on farming and forgot to ward. 5 minute after swapping, double kill100%
Works best with chogath jax olaf as solo/jungler
