Volibear Patch Preview + Massive Jungle Changes + Pot changes

I can see that something has changed...

JUNGLING:
Riot is implementing a massive overhaul of the jungle, giving "each camp a different buff", "faster respawn times", and making it so that you can "try more wacky things" in the jungle. They're also nerfing the melee slow on the red lizard buff in jungle.

What does this mean? Well this game is already very farm oriented for junglers, which means that each failed gank will provide less and less incentive to try again, since if the enemy jungler is someone like warwick, they'll very quickly get ahead as a result of low downtime between camps and sustained jungling.

Seems to me that for a team promoting "more aggressive gameplay", this change is very much going against what they want for the game.

On the other hand, Double Jungling might become the new meta, since this will allow a team to keep their jungle clear while doing all the things that teams love junglers doing like ganking and counterjungling.

HEALTH POTS:
Speaking of aggressive play, they're nerfing health pots. This should be a very very interesting move on their part. I'm not saying it's a good one, but since most solo heroes and junglers all start with health potions, this will definitely reward successful aggression and heavily punish unsuccessful aggression.

MINION WAVES:
Minion damage is also receiving a nerf, which means that when enemy champions get close to last hit, smacking them a few times for some extra damage will not only be safe, but also necessary if you want to win your lane.

SIVIR:
On the other hand, Sivir is receiving a slight rework, although she still seems pretty useless with her kit, it'll all depend on how much her base stats were upgraded.

  1. I'm just curious what the buffs each camp is going to give...wonder if it'll be the same as the twisted treeline buffs?
