Instructions and Caveats:
  • This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

Champion Explanations

  • Ashe [God Tier ADC] - Ever since Ashe's latest rework, she's become an absolute powerhouse on the rift. Difficult to trade with, difficult to all-in against, and a bit anti-fun when stunned from a mile away makes her a top priority ban at the moment.
  • Azir [Tier 1 Mid] - Azir's strong 1v1 trading and potential team wombo-combos make him extremely popular on the rift. Although he's still very squishy and relies on proper cooldown management to be effective, the damage he outputs is enough to make him a threat if not properly disposed of.
  • Bard [Tier 2 Support] - After the initial Bard fails died down and Riot's latest buff to the champion, he's become a staple on the rift. Although his success is still debatable in terms of effectiveness, his play-making ability is close to that of Thresh's.
  • Ekko [God Tier Top] - It's hard to tell if it's simply a result of Ekko being a new champion release, but it seems that he's extremely strong on the rift in small skirmishes at the moment. His ultimate also has an overwhelmingly high AP ratio, making his one-shot ability close to outrageous.
  • Evelynn [Tier 1 Jungle] - Evelynn's made a strong rise back into the mainstream lately as an AD based bruiser. Very difficult to escape from, her invisibility also makes her ganks extremely potent.
  • Fizz [Tier 1 Mid] - After the latest AD Fizz craze and Riot decided to revert him back to an AP-centric role, he's found his place back in mid lane. As a trickster with propensity to dodge your best spells and cause general havoc on the rift, he's a very popular assassin at the moment.
  • Gragas [God Tier Jungle] - Despite nerfs to Gragas this patch, he remains one of the most popular junglers on the rift. With his strong damage mitigation via his ultimate and nearly constant CC, he's difficult to escape from on a good day and downright annoying on others.
  • Leblanc [God Tier Mid] - Leblanc still holds her place as one of the most banned champions on the rift at the moment. With her ability to instantaneously one-shot people from insane distances and then retreat right back to safely, it's no wonder that she's captured the position of most annoying champion on the rift.
  • Morgana [God Tier Support] - Out of all the supports, few get as much ban time as Morgana. The main reason for this is because popular supports like Thresh and Nautilus rely heavily on their CCs, which Morgana completely negates via her black shield. Three second root durations are also instantly rage-inducing.
  • Ryze [God Tier Top] - The latest changes to Ryze escalated him far beyond expectations. His current status as an undisputed FOTM champion (see link) have made him the single most targeted champion on the rift for Riot nerfplz claims. This means Ashe might be safe for a while longer.
  • Yasuo [Tier 1 Mid] - With nerfs on a variety of champions and the sudden burst in support Nautilus's popularity, Yasuo's back stronger than ever and definitely sports a kit that synergizes well with the other champions on the rift.

  1. I noticet it since a long time, but this patch it's even more obvious. There's a large difference between EUW servers and NA servers. The FOTM in EUW is different. For exemple, Ekko top i never played on EUW, but it seems taht it's played a lot on NA. Ryze is never played too in EUW,as Nasus and Gnar. I didn't look after their pick rates in differents server, but i think that's right.

Ikr, ryze and ekko are never played on top in EUW. What i do see a lot is moakai and irelia.

  3. I've haven't seen anyone playing Ekko top or mid in NA... cuz he's always banned

two things if noticed that are "technical": in tier 3 rising, it says "azir mid" even though hes in tier 1. second: also in tier 3 rising, it says "garen top" when hes in tier 2

I have recently been experimenting with eve builds and my favorite build is warrior, triforce, hexdrinker, warden's mail (order on those two can be swapped based on game, then finish them both, again based on the match), and the last item is a judgement call. I have tried botrk, ludens (instantly gives a lot more burst), and a number of defensive items. Remember eve can be built a ton of different ways and there aren't many terrible items on her. Play around and find what you like

And what about Varus mid ?

    ReplyDelete
  19. The Golden color ! (Seriously)
    The "Teamfight control" ultimate.
    The Awesome E+Q[R]
    The Cool wall dashes.
The Playstyle. (and using skills in any direction, many possibilities)
The Character. (Not a random monster who came out of space, THIS IS SHURIMA EMPEROR)

Yeah the character(both voice and look, and race) affects player's mood.

  20. He's a bird

  21. This is the fotm list.. Varus mid is OP if u ask me but not picked or banned as frequently as other champs.

    ReplyDelete
  22. He's extremly fun. Ult is strong alone but also a good combo in teamfights with other ults. Ludens echo. Lategame monster.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Gnar turned godlevel top after people realizing how to play him.. his kit is insanly op. You can win a game with a good ult.

Bard tier two might still be a little high yet on this list. Even after I've proven time and time again to my friends that he's got boat loads of potential they still get iffy when I pick him. But on the tegulr tier list tier two is perfect.

Ekko supp is amazingly viable. I'm not saying its the strongest thing in the world but its at least tier 3.

Wait what, Kog maw is that low for mid lane? C'mon dude, I've seen games hard carried by AP kogs and done so myself. Siegemaster

You're right, Kog should be moved higher; didn't realize he was so low on the list. Thanks!

I'm not sure why Nasus is god tier top.
With buffs to Ryze and other scaling/kiting top laners, I feel like Nasus is going to free farm, but lose the game anyway if the enemy can make the right call.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Honestly I call BS on the Nidalee as jungle god, I probably just suck, but I've been playing her all day and unless im using the wrong build or something, It is pretty much hell, sure I can do tons of damage but most of the times when my spear hits I'm far away, or dashing in would get me killed, and even the meta tank junglers can pretty much solo me, so if I'm doing anything wrong some one let me know

    ReplyDelete
  34. I have to ask, why is Support Heimerdinger not on this or the actual tier list?
If these list Lee Sin, gangplank, and Syndra as supports then he deserves it, also he is a secondary support as well....

    ReplyDelete
  35. Thank you! (I use Twitter all the time, and was missing you on my TL :P)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Is anyone else tired of the top lane meta? I've been an on and off top lane main for a while now and I personally hate having to go against tryhard Rivens, Fioras, Vlads all the time just knowing that I'm likely going to get outtraded unless I play those champions as well. I wish the meta would return to early season 4 with champs like Shyv, Mundo, Renekton, etc. Who's with me?

    ReplyDelete
  37. You build ROA? Nida is best in skirmishes and gank though.

    ReplyDelete
  38. And people make the right calls in solo queue. Not.

    That's why :P

  39. But Galio's character is awesome too :c

    ReplyDelete
  45. ConfusedTeemoJune 14, 2015

Warrior is better early, devourer is better late game in theory (if you get a lot of stacks). Warrior is nice on eve in particular because it is better when she is strongest (early-midgame)
