League of Legends MID Game Tier List:

The second part of this scaling tier list mini-series will be focused in on mid-game champions. These champions are highly powerful in the mid-game and will be focused in on the level six through level eleven point of the game. These are the champions that will net you the objectives and shove to their inhibitors.

However, make sure you don't dally around too long with these champions. While some of them do scale even further into the late game, many of them are strongest during this point and will start to fall off if you don't end the game as soon as possible.

Note also that obviously if you've snowballed off early game leads, then some of these champions will be much stronger than they appear on this list. This list assume a relatively even early game and nothing particularly out of the ordinary occurred during laning phase.

Instructions and Caveats

  • Champions in BOLD I will talk about shortly
  • Within each tier, the champions are strongest from left to right, but within a tier, each champion's strength is relatively close. This is especially true for Tiers 2 and 3 where these champions are ALL highly playable and player dependent on how strong they are in-game.

LoL Tier List Champion Explanations

Draven [God Tier Bot Lane]

When it comes to one to two item spike marksmen, nobody is quite as terrifying as Draven when it comes to absolutely dominating games. Later on champions with additional utility start coming to power, but during the mid-game a single Bloodthirster on Draven transforms into an omnipotent marksman God.

Ezreal [Tier 2 Bot]

During the mid-game, Ezreal is almost online at two items, but it's doubtful that you'll have a full charged Muramana at this point. You can obviously still dish out a decent amount of damage at this point, but nowhere near enough to be on par with crit-based marksmen unless you picked up a ton of free kills early game.

Fizz [God Tier Mid]

After hitting level six Fizz is capable of killing nearly any champion on sight as long as they're not huddled behind a turret. His ultimate is obviously good to land, but he has plenty of killing potential even without it. There are few champions who can even think about trying to solo him at this point and most will need to play very safe to avoid dying.

Jarvan IV [God Tier Jungle]

Once Jarvan hits level six, his range and utility are exponentially increased. While other jungle champions were introduced that can compete with his high effective distance, few can compete with the mix of damage and utility he dishes out. His full combo is enough to one-shot almost everyone in the game, and his built-in armor penetration and passive allows him to dominate tanks just as easily.

Kai'Sa [Tier 1 Bot]

Similar to Ezreal, she's not quite fully online at one upgrade. However, she's online enough to dish enough damage to be much more of a threat than Ezreal. While it's possible that she's snowballed up through this point, I would say that in a general setting she's still strong but not quite on par with the God Tier marksmen on the list during the mid-game.

Kassadin [Tier 2 Mid]

As a sneak preview, late-game Kassadin is one of the strongest champions in the game. However, at this point in time he's mostly focused on picking up kills and stacking up his mana items. He certainly has the potential to assassinate, but it doesn't look anything like what you'd expect from other assassins at this point in time.

Nasus [Tier 1 Top]

A lot of people mistaken Nasus for a late game monster. He's strong, but that's really not his strongest point. His best point in the game is really when he's just finished farming minions and is ready to start farming champions. After this point he begins falling off as he lacks the ability to AFK stack and also begins getting kited by fed marksmen.

Nocturne [God Tier Jungle]

The upgraded gank power of Nocturne comes of course at the cost of having a high cooldown on his ultimate. However, there is nobody that comes close to the amount of map pressure Nocturne exhibits in the mid-game. In the hands of a logical jungler, Nocturne's ultimate is almost a guaranteed kill each time unless all your lanes are losing miserably.

Talon [God Tier Mid]

Similar to Fizz, Talon in the mid-game is an automatic kill on sight. He's the epitome of a see hero kill hero in the mid-game, and almost nobody has the potential to duel him effectively unless they have the assistance of their jungler.
