Instructions and Caveats:
  • Champions in BOLD I will talk about shortly
  • Champions UNDERLINED may be over/undervalued, but aren't/haven't played enough for me to make a better judgement.
  • Within each tier the champions are strongest from left to right, but within a tier each champion's strength is relatively close. This is especially true for Tiers 2 and 3 where these champions are ALL highly playable and player dependent on how strong they are in-game.
  • This tier list takes data from ALL players; however, since the majority of players fall in the first three tiers, the majority of data points will come from there.
  • Win Rates are important in analyzing each champion's strength, but are not the end-all criteria for any champion's position.
  • The creator of this list is diamond, so there may be some personal bias towards higher tier play on certain champions.

Champion Explanations
  • Alistar [Tier 2 Top] - Initial thoughts on his nerf actually didn't hit him as hard as I thought it would. He's still not a bad top, but can definitely be countered.
  • Blitzcrank [Support God] - High shift from poke/heal champions to all-in assassins with low sustain means that mid lane 5v5s generally end up being a face-off. Blitzcrank is the king of picks, and with less poke than ever in his face, even if he misses his hook 5 times in a row, he'll still have the time, mana, and health to try for a 6th.
  • Jarvan IV [God Tier Jungle] - Jarvan's in a very strong place right now; similar to Blitzcrank less poke in his face means that he has more time to pick and choose who he wants to take down. He also synergizes very well with a lot of popular champions with his all-in abilities and armor shred.
  • Maokai [Tier 1 Top] - Nerfs hurt him a bit, but the damage reduction that he provides to his entire team is still insane.
  • Morgana [Support God] - Similar to Blitzcrank, even though she's been nerfed, her pick potential combined with her defensive abilities still make her a very strong pick.
  • Nidalee [Tier 1 Top] - High skillcap, high skill potential champion. Check out this article for a full write-up!
  • Renekton [Tier 2 Top] - Renekton's not nearly the same bully as he was before, and can easily be countered/pushed out of lane. He's still strong, but tends to get smacked down by the same kids he used to shove around the playground.
  • Rumble [Tier 1 Top] - Rumble's ability to turn around all-ins and/or engage with his ultimate is insane, and his early game without items gives him a huge presence later on in the game. Nerfs on a lot of the other manaless sustaining top laners have brought new life into the yordle.
  • Soraka [Tier 4 Top] - Dropped to Tier 4, but promoted to a constant reminder of how poor Urgot still is.
  • Talon [Mid God] - As assassins go, Talon is ideal simply because he also synergizes so well with Black Cleaver and can provide instaneous AOE utility along with straight up killing one or two squishies on the way in. His abilities also provide very little in the way of counterplay as he has an instant blink followed by invisibility.
  • Urgot [Tier 4 Citizen] - Nice try Riot, but Urgot still isn't viable.
  • Yorick [Tier 1 Top] - Yorick is the "new" top lane king bully. With the manaless sustainers top nerfed hard, not many top laners can keep up with Yorick's insane harass. This combined with the fact that most AD carries are now simple auto-attacker types makes sure Yorick's ultimate is used to its fullest.
  • Zilean [Tier 1 Mid/Tier 2 Support] - Just giving a little more credit where credit is due. While it's true that he's far stronger in organized team play, he definitely also has his place in solo queue as well.

    Lol Urgot, nice try xd

  2. I think for the next patch I think teemo top deserves much higher (not mid) for the following reasons

-Very safe splitpusher (Although does require a "decent" placement of shrooms

-Great objective control (Baron and Dragon)

-Is able to chunk down tanks which makes up for the lack of tankiness

-Very diverse building capabilities (similar to kayle).

-Is one of the few champions that does not require boots and can work off of 6 items (due to a maxed out W can give him 420 Movement speed before the active).

Also as said a few patches ago that heimerdinger will become teemo 2.0 I disagree completely because heimerdinger doesn't have nearly as good objective control and splitpushing safety.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Nunu tier 3 (Patch 4.14) -> Nunu tier 1 (Patch 4.15). Why?
And why Elise, Shyvana and Hecarim are tier 3?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Elise is a great champion with a very high skillcap, Shyvana has very little utility for a jungler and toplaner as a whole, as for hecarim....... I just think there are junglers with more damage more tankiness and more utility.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Nunu's teamfighting utility+early bullying is very strong including strong peel from the hyper-carries. Although like Zilean, he is better in organized play. He still holds his place in solo queue.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Kog shouldn't be "God Tier" anymore. I main him and I'm pretty confident in this assessment. The nerfs to his ult. and MS hurt AP Kog the most but AD Kog's lane presence is significantly reduced too.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I think if twitch was lowered due to low mobility I think the same should be said for koggles even if I love the guy.

    #justiceforRumble
You mention that the nerfs to other champs and his great attributes, yet you keep him where he is. Especcialy with maokai and ali gone who were the only things stopping him from being god. I wouldn't be surprised if more people than Balls pickefld him up in the LCS.
Also Sej back where she belongs.

Other than that really accurate tier list

    ReplyDelete
  9. I am so confused. How can Syndra, Kayle, and Teemo be more viable supports than Orianna? Orianna gives lane partners massive bonus armor/mr, her scaling movespeed w, a portable ward for a q, and a teamfight dominating ultimate that can singe-handedly cc and entire team. I don't feel she is the most viable, but she definitely deserves to be Tier 3.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Agreed, except for sejuani she still deserves top-tier 1.

    ReplyDelete
  11. KingoftheSocksAugust 30, 2014

That's what I'm saying she is back where she belonhs in tier 1

    ReplyDelete
  12. Why is Udyr tier 1?

    ReplyDelete
  13. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

    Yasuo Tier 2?
    Braum Tier 1?
    Alistar Tier 2?
    Nidalee Tier 1?
    Fizz Tier 1?
    Kassadin Tier 3?
    Kha'Zix Tier 2?!?
    Syndra Tier 1?!?!?!?!
    Akali Tier 1?!?
Wow, this tier list got really, really bad.

    ReplyDelete
  14. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

All of those should be either God or higher btw.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh well, she's tier 1 right now!

    ReplyDelete
  16. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

    Mordekaiser Tier 2?
    Nocturne Tier 2?
    Olaf Tier 2?
    CHO'GATH TIER 2?!?!?!?
    SINGED TIER 1?
    Gangplank Tier 2?
    Poppy Tier 2?
    Gragas Tier 2?
    Kennen Tier 1?!?!?!?
    SION TIER 2?!?!?!?!?
    TRUNDLE TIER 2?!?!?!?
    Zac Tier 2?!?
IS THIS A DIAMOND TIER LIST NOW?
    OMG this needs fixing.
Btw, all of THOSE should be lower.
    Much lower.

    ReplyDelete
  17. If it's a bronze tier list everything should be tier-2 because really everything really works in bronze-silver to even gold to an extent. Also I think poppy is tier-1 nocturne is tier-1 and singed is god-tier :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Yasuo and Alistar are fairly obvious. High ban rates for a reason, and the nerf to Alistar was rather small.
    Braum is ridiculous. Seriously.
Nidalee's win rate is affected by her ban rate. She's really dang good, and a master in this meta despite the skill required to pull her off.
Fizz doesn't need explaning. I shouldn't have to. Secret OP isn't secret anymore.
Kassadin is still good. Low win rate doesn't stack up with his ban rate. He's still fierce with a RoA and a Zhonya's.
Kha'Zix has rose dramatically. Check his win rate out and how people are building him.
Syndra has been good for a while. I'm surprised people haven't got the picture that she's really FRICKIN good in in Gold and high Silver elo.
Akali has been debated for a while. Also surprised she isn't higher.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I know the top lane meta has shifted a lot, but why is Jax and Trundle tier 2? I understand that Jax was nerfed, but i still think he a Strong/Preferred Choice. Also, why was Maokai moved to tier 1? He wasn't touched this patch and he was god tier last tier list.

    ReplyDelete
  20. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Poppy should NOT be tier 1. Not even tier 2. More like tier 4, and same for all the others. Win rate, skill required, blah blah blah. Have you SEEN a good poppy?!?
Nocturne is terrible. His counterjungling isn't good, he himself is very susceptible up to late game, and his win rate is terrible.
Singed is just... wow. He's out of this meta. I've only seen him in platinum, hardly anywhere else. Too much skill required, terriblle early game, item reliance, mana hunger, farm reliance, only 1 form of sustained damage which can be inconsistent... god save this list.

    ReplyDelete
  21. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

And no, not everything works in bronze. Zac, Gragas, and Gangplank are very, very terrible in Bronze. Saying that it even affects silver and gold to an extent is blatantly false, and you should know that better than anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Agreed on Syndra and Fizz, Akali though is in a decent spot right now.
Kassadin is still a phenomenal splitpusher but has a far different itemization path.

I'm not really sold on kha'zix yet as a prominent pick. I think nocturne is tier-1 material after the fall of rengar.

Nidalee is too hard D: She is honestly tier-3 for the same reason leblanc was tier-3 for a long time, she is hard in bronze, and towards an article on this website about lag in lower elos, that's a prominent aspect to look at.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Poppys scare the crap out of me!

    ReplyDelete
  24. The Alistar nerf was pretty big IMO. He can't get the sheen proc in for extra damage when he uses Headbutt.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

When have you seen it besides Platinum and very high elo Gold?

    ReplyDelete
  26. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

But that's not all that makes him op. Extremely high cc, great base damage, strong late game, good sustain, really good at pushing and denying CS, people don't know how to deal with him hugely, very very tanky if built like a tank, counters popular supports and top laners, and more.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I saw it on my climb from bronze to plat from SII to SIV

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yeah that's true.

    ReplyDelete
  29. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

    How recent is this?
I haven't seen a poppy in my Bronze account, but some in my Platinum account.
For god's sake, most of my team members don't see him. And they're Silver!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Her passive and kit is incredibally strong if the buff her base scaling, and her ratios. She'd become insanely broken.

    ReplyDelete
  31. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

    WHAT?!?!?
    Have you played her?1?!?
EVEN THE MATH DISAGREES WITH YOU
God help how much skill she requires and the meta that she doesn't belong in.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I play her jungle all the time :P

    ReplyDelete
  33. Nocturne sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  34. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Kassadin should still be at least tier 1. Far different itemization doesn't mean he's still ridiculous.
Akali is ridiculous. Probably the best assassin besides Talon.
Nocturne is Tier 1? Haven't seen a good nocturne, and most mainers with nocturne are now going 0/7 or similar.
    Nidalee is hard...
She's just different to play. Most people don't actually have a problem with that, and I handled her fairly well, though I don't count since I'm in Plat.
Nid's win rate is actually rising in bronze now, have you noticed?
It's just an adjustment, it takes a while to get used to.
But Kha'Zix is prominent. This is literally the only tier list that puts Kha so low.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not on my main of course but most definitely on my silver smurf :P

    ReplyDelete
  36. Akali should NOT be god tier, you got to be kidding me.

    ReplyDelete
  37. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

    Again, doubt it.
    I really, really doubt it.
    Seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  38. And kassadin should be tier 2, not tier 1.

    ReplyDelete
  39. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

    Extremely versatile.
Snowballs ridiculously well as an assassin.
    Insane burst damage.
Easy to farm, and not so reliant on items.
    Easy escape.
If played as an assassin, and I MEAN an assassin, she does well.
    And a high win rate.

    ReplyDelete
  40. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

I just said Kassadin is ridiculous. He should be at LEAST tier 1.
    High mobility.
    Great single-target burst.
Easy early game pertaining to last-hitting.
    Ult still does well.
Safe early game trades against AP mids
Great damage scaling all the way to late game.
    Great sustain
    Lot of utility
Still probably one of the best assassins if USED as an assassin.
Did I mention amazing burst still?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Alright, believe what you want to. But I am surprised you didn't add corki to that list. He deserves god-tier the most.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I agree.
He still gets outclassed my other champs in terms of burst.
    Freeze lane?
    Ok.
    Early game trades? Not.
    Ok.
Nope, he has no build it sustain.
Stops channeled spells, slow. Thats pretty much what he got in term of utility.
I still prefer fizz, zed and even akali over him.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

BS. He's fine where he is. Almost Tier 2.
Have you seriously not played in a while? Where did these come from?
He's not god with his imperfections. Mana hungry, lacks any form of sustain, extremely vulnerable to CC, quite possibly one of the most countered ADCs, and a bad late game.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ok.
    Other assassins too.
    Like other assassins.
Freeze lane, wait for her to go in melee, burst her.
    Ok.
    Like any other assassins?
    Ok.

    ReplyDelete
  45. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Not outclassed in terms of burst, that's some BS. He's pretty high up there. Not the top, but up there.
His Nether Blade is really good for last hitting.
Have you even played Kassadin? His early game trades are alright thanks to his passive and his Null Sphere. I said safe.
Excuse me sir. Mana sustain. Are you smoking? His W.
A slow and the stopping of channeled spells isn't bad.
Fizz? Sure. Akali? Yes. Zed? THAT'S SOME BS.

    ReplyDelete
  46. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

No, Akali probably snowballs the most. Ever. She's ridiculous and never falls behind after getting ahead. I have yet to see that.
Yes, like other assassins. Are you going to keep comparing, or should I mention that she has MORE damage?
False battle plan. Too situational, one-sided, and only on paper.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ok, but if he is not in the top, the get gets outclassed.
He has to go in melee in order to do so.
I thought you meant health sustain lol.
Yes it is not bad but you said LOT.
Lol zed gets outclassed by kassadin, I think anybody would agree that zed is better than kassadin.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Josh ThurlowAugust 30, 2014

Akali is a god in early elos.

    ReplyDelete
  49. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Do you even know what outclassed means? He still holds his own.
If I meant health sustain, then why are we talking about mid?
BS Zed is better than Kassadin. Requires far too much skill, reaction times, and micromanagement.

    ReplyDelete
  50. K.
    K.
It is not a false battle plan. Situational, yes. One sided? Nope. Depends for what champion you are talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  51. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Yes it's one sided. You're acting like an Akali is going to be stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  52. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Anyway, I'm still going to look at this tier list and wait for it to be more accurate, but until then, metalol, reignofgaming, and frickin forum tier lists are better than this.

    ReplyDelete
  53. wukong onlyAugust 30, 2014

Ummm, those champs are never played in diamond lol.

    ReplyDelete
  54. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

And yet most of those are so high it bothers me.

    ReplyDelete
  55. wukong onlyAugust 30, 2014

Well, I'm sure people who main those champs will complain if they are lowered. I'm not saying this list is perfect, for example wukong is obviously better mid than top or jungle yet they are a whole tier higher than mid wukong. I think they are fine where they are though, but all of them are relatively weak.

    ReplyDelete
  56. didn't look at everything but Swain and Vel'koz definetly don't belong to god tier mid. Maybe swap these from Syndra / Fizz / Zed.

    ReplyDelete
  57. KingoftheSocksAugust 30, 2014

Massive vareity in builds, cann build sotag, sotel and feral flare effectively. Can be a utility tank, bruiser or full out assassin. Very fast clear time, with s spirit stone and madreds razor has insane sustain, like you'll always be above 60% hp and mana. Fantastic early pressure, with feral flare can have one of the scariest dps' in the game. Also ridiculous tower diving ability with his strong shield, stun and damage.

You can tell I've been watching trick2g recently

    ReplyDelete
  58. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

I don't main any of those, and still have a huge problem with that.
Those champions are far too high, especially KENNEN
    and SINGED

    ReplyDelete
  59. KingoftheSocksAugust 30, 2014

Singed destroys bronze-gold as most don't see him enough to know how to deal with him and data is often weighted towards bronze-gold.

Kennen I'm not sure, I normally do well with him in normals but I've never pulled him in ranked. I imagine cause strong teamfighting, counters melee tops who lack any reliable gap closers (and even some that do) and is a decent splitpusher but thats only coming off my experince in normals

    ReplyDelete
  60. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

I highly doubt that. Kennen is a huge skillpick, requiring too much on skill to actually do well. He's reliant on positioning and when you go in far too much. He's almost bleeded out of Bronze~Gold.
Singed is doing really well Bronze~Gold? He has a 49% win rate.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Esteban BombalAugust 30, 2014

    I would add Vel'Koz support.

    ReplyDelete
  62. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Maokai is still in God. He just works far better as a jungler.
Jax I agree with, Trundle I don't. Trundle is probably the 3rd worst champion in the game. Even his win rate is atrocious.

    ReplyDelete
  63. SSJSuntasticAugust 30, 2014

Jax and Trundle are more of a winrate decision, they're strong, but I'd say they're about balanced now.

Maokai is actually probably somewhere between God Tier and Tier 1, he may move back up. Right now his game impact seems a bit reduced, but he's definitely still a very strong and safe pick.

    ReplyDelete
  64. KingoftheSocksAugust 30, 2014

The singed stuff came from what I personally have seen. I imagine I would be wrong on the grand scale of things.
I can't speak for either champ on a good degree but if I got either on my team I wouldn't be displeased.

    ReplyDelete
  65. SSJSuntasticAugust 30, 2014

Honestly the difference between Tier 2 and Tier 3 are so minute with the number of champions in God/Tier 1 that I tend to neglect most of them on updates. Thanks for bringing it up though, I'll make a few edits.

    ReplyDelete
  66. swain is a god, just try him out ( if youre interested ill give you my build) and he's jsut as good top too, zed, again has too high skill cap and fizz had too many counterpicks for him to be considered god, but he's stilla powerhouse. syndra and ahri howveer i do agree are exceptionally strong, but ahri falls off late game in the sense that its difficult to reach the backline adc you want to be deleting in teamfights. that said, pick comps are on the way up so you never know. graves is bad, deal with it :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. SSJSuntasticAugust 30, 2014

Actually, Yasuo in Tier 2 is an extremely biased move by me, if I was approaching him objectively I'd probably place him in Tier 3 easily. His win rate is actually mediocre from silver to gold and then drops drastically in platinum then Diamond.

    ReplyDelete
  68. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Zed has a high skill cap, but he's still better than Swain.
Fizz has too many counterpicks? GET OUT
Ahri falls off late game?!? Have you played Ahri?
Swain is Tier 2. Should've been that way for a while.

You can't judge his win rate when talking Yasuo. Part of the reason is that he's played so little that people are just plain inexperienced.
He's banned 70% of the time! He's the most banned champion!
I see how skill brings him down, but isn't Tier 2 pushing it? Tier 1 is actually fine by me if he's placed there, as it makes sense.
But seriously, a Yasuo ahead, STAYS ahead. And never comes back.

    My thoughts:
Coouldn't agree more on the support list, blitz is a god now for sure, as well as the rigt idea on the order of tier one supps. Is zilean maybe tier 1 though?
Adc's are great too, just I think cait should be on the top of tier 1, draven is probably fine where he is now, since he is weaker in comparison to before. Are you sure urgot isn't improved by the buffs? I mean he can farm better now but I didn't bother checking win rates so idrk, because he still isn't an adc at all. I think he might still be t4 because of how trash his late game is, and that he is is only strong around 4-9 than falls off.
I think top lane nid maybe should be moved up 1 spot but not god tier because of skill cap. Her win rate in high elos is insane. I honestly think mundo should be even lower, he is trash early-mid game, then finally is monstrous late game, but he can't carry solo queu at all without a team that can at least stall. Also, gnar is still pretty trash, t3 at best. Irelia should be very high t1, her win rate in diamond shows she has potential, and is a monster with just a triforce.
For junglers I feel amumu should be ahead of rammus for sure and that fiddle should be 3rd. J4 is pretty good and safe so I would say he's 4th but I think the rest of the junglers should be removed.
For mid lane I would like to see either vel'koz moved down or an explanation, because it seems really strange to believe vel is op at all. I also am still waiting to see wukong as the #1 god tier mid laner, because when I play him in all roles, I feel mid is freelo, while top is great and jungle has kind of fell off, his win rate with elder lizard is only 53% now, and the meta is favouring lane wukong especially mid because of the importance of someone who could get to the back line and delete it(wihch only a lane wukong can do) with adcs being so big of a deal. He is just so much better mid than top though because of the importance of a good roamer to carry bot lane. So far I haven't had trouble with any ap mid laners (mord doesn't count) but just can't beat a good aatrox, pantheon or renekton as wukong since they are his hardest matchups, and there are a lot more that give a serious challennge, although I can usually win.them because I'm experienced. But mid is the only role I'm 100% he's a god in, top I'm not sure but he can be, my mind changes depending on my experience that day with top wukong.

Meh, I think yas is tier 3 when he doesn't have a team built around him, tier 1 when he does. Yasuo is only tier 1 in arranged play, but in solo queu he's harder to use.

    ReplyDelete
  72. SSJSuntasticAugust 30, 2014

Mid lane wukong could very well become a high solo queue pick as the meta is shifting towards melee assassins again. The only issue I could see is that his only escape is decoy, which has a fairly high cooldown. Other champions like Akali, Talon, or Katarina have more range and/or options at their disposal.

Wukong's lvl 1~3 all-in ability is insane though.

    ReplyDelete
  73. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Yasuo is reliant on his team? That's really, really false.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Swain is god-tier Solo queue. He is what every solo queue team wants.

I have no opinion on ahri after I stopped playing her.

    Zed is god-tier IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  75. SSJSuntasticAugust 30, 2014

That's actually the strange part to me. I've personally never seen Yasuo banned for weeks at both platinum and diamond, and he still has the lowest win rate in those tiers.

Meanwhile, players in these tiers should be *better* at Yasuo than lower ranked players, so I'm not sure how to reach a different conclusion.

  76. SSJ, What's your opinion on teemo?

    ReplyDelete
  77. wukong onlyAugust 30, 2014

At level 6 he can often 1v2, and his decoy is either enough to outplay or escape, yes that's his weakness but I'd say it's a bigger deal in top than mid due to a longewr lane

    ReplyDelete
  78. I couldn't agree any more.

    ReplyDelete
  79. akali gets level 6, hits r, wins...agreed in low elos shes a monster because players dont realise how necessary and frankly simple it is to punish her

    ReplyDelete
  80. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

Probably because once you reach high elo, people are far better at dealing with him.
It's like this, he would be really, really good if he wasn't banned so much when pertaining to Bronze~Gold, but he's really bad the higher you go because people know how to deal with him and can screw him over easily.

  83. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

I guess Tier 1/Tier 2 is fine when it comes to Zed, not God. Skill is a huge factor indeed, but leo was just completely out of line.
Ahri is tier 1, not God, but almost.
Swain isn't. I refuse to believe that, and at this point all the people I see that do well with Swain are mainers, not the other kind.
I don't get it. It may just be a Plat thing, but I deal through Swains like butter up here. He's almost too reliant on blue, and when he doesn't he's extremely mana hungry, he has short range on his abilities, his pushing is really mana expensive, he's pretty dang susceptible to high burst, and that doesn't help when he already struggles against highly ranged champions, and he's countered by both any form of Grievous Wounds as well as the lack of mobility he has.

    ReplyDelete
  84. SSJSuntasticAugust 30, 2014

From levels 1-5 Orianna ends up mostly pretending she's Janna, whereas the Syndra has a lvl 2 AOE stun, and Kayle and Teemo deal a ton of damage on their own with the potential to snowball off a cheesy strategy.

Orianna in lane as support plays more like a classical support, but without any of the love from Riot that they give "orthodox" supports.

  88. SSJSuntasticAugust 30, 2014

Moved him up. Tends to get cheesed easily if he wins his lane from lvl 1~3 too hard, but still strong. Not so much the AP version of him, but as a ranged tanky build he's pretty solid with attack speed changes.

  89. SSJSuntasticAugust 30, 2014

    ReplyDelete
  90. wukong onlyAugust 30, 2014

That's true, I've once had an akali rush a thornmail against me (LOL) and I couldn't do anything to. Lately I've been getting camped a lot and outplaying, since if you decoy the ap mid will have to back off if they don't owanna get 100-0 giving u a free opportunity to 1v1 the jungler for double buffs. The ranged farming thing is a big deal I agree and the reason he doesn't see pro play, but other than that he brings so much more to the table than say a talon, in lane dominance and carry potential. I remember the days in early s3 where he was a commoon mid and often even banned in lcs, maybe the meta shift in his favour may be enough to bring him back idk.

    ReplyDelete
  97. ShadowSectAugust 30, 2014

    I don't mind, thanks.
Zac relies WAY, WAY too much on skill. He's a walking how good are you at this game. Bronze hates him.
Gangplank's ult relies on RNG, which can be really bad. His mana costs are really dang bad too. When his Remove Scurvy is on CD, he has very little methods of escape, and he's really weak without some proficiency, i.e. you need to main him to do well.
Gragas is simply just played very, very wrong. It doesn't help that he's pretty skillshot reliant with 3 skillshots, item-reliant as well as the fact that he doesn't get enough farm as a support, and he's pretty team reliant, which REALLY doesn't help in Bronze when people can get mad at you for no reason.

  107. If Kog's used to his full potential, I'd still put him in Tier 1. Although, he probably has the highest skillcap of all ADCs. He's mana gated, has to manage many CDs (W, ult. reset etc.), is heavily reliant on skillshots and can't afford any mispositioning.

SSJ always makes changes. He'll probably make some changes soon. It just came out today, no need to go so negative on it. Some questions from both lists you made that you made.
    1. What's wrong with Cho in tier 2? I don't see him much but he seems to be fine in the viable section at least.
    2. Where should singed be? I completely agree on your viewpoint of him, as I don't see much of him except those who main him in high elos like SirhcEz.
    3. Poppy is fine tier 2. Just because you don't see a good Poppy player, doesn't mean she isn't a good champion.
    4. Questions to everyone... Why is Jax tier 2? and also, where did this sudden Nunu tier 1 come from? Wasn't he tier 3 for like, ever?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Josh ThurlowAugust 30, 2014

Why is Jax only Tier 2? and what is this Nunu Tier 1? He was Tier 3 forever. Also, could you make a description as to the Leona jungle? I really don't see it... ever. I've played it, and I saw this one person do it, but that's it

About supports, I have to question Blitz as a god since I don't remember the last time I saw a Blitz who did not have a negative influence on his team, but I guess the win rate suggests that my luck with Blitzcranks are just terrible. And I find Zilean to be tier 2 in support simply because a little bit of poke is enough to send him packing with his terrible base health.

As for adc's I have always seen Corki to be superior to Lucian due to easier mechanics, better poke, and higher potential burst, so I doubt Lucian's placement in God tier compared to Corki's at the bottom of tier 1, but other than that I agree with your adc placements.

Nid is tier 1, Mundo works well in my opinion because it is incredibly easy for him to farm under tower with cleavers and masochism until he starts to overpower the enemy. Gnar is tier 3, agreed, any jungler with pre-6 ganks can regularly towerdive the little guy early and murder him until he can't catch up. Agreed on Irelia.

As for junglers, my only disagreement is that Vi, simply due to her closing power and ability to kill today's hypercarries, still deserves a place in god tier.

I have been convinced by your mid wukong praise and tried him myself, put wukong in god mid and place him tier 1 in other roles. And although ShadowSect will hate me for saying this, I prefer Vel'Koz as a support over a mid laner, and he is currently my favorite support. The amount of harass he has gives your adc a large advantage in farm heading out of the laning phase, and the enemy will regularly have to back in order to survive. In addition, when you have a Vel'Koz support, there is another damage dealer that can often outdamage everyone else on the team with a good ult, and the enemy is forced to make some tough decisions about who to focus. As a side note, Vel has a 53% win rate on Spellthief's Edge and Sightstone, and Doran's Ring, the default starting item for Vel in mid, gives him a 50% win rate. Compare that to his overall 52% win rate, which isn't a huge difference, but might be worth keeping in mind.

  114. Woah what happened to Xin Zhao? Could you explain why he got bumped down so much?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Is Yorick any good outside the laning phase? It seems wierd that he is a tier 1 top but I've never EVER seen him be played in normals or ranked

    ReplyDelete
  116. Sejuani AP (or AP off tank) in mid is like Veigar or Tristana AP, and better. She has a stun in area (1.75 at lvl 16), slow in area (70% and 2.5 of duration), BUUUUUUURST TONS OF DAMAGE LIKE LEBLANC VEIGAR OR TRISTANA while you're stunned.

Yes, she doesn't have poke, but she have a burst, a tons of utility, mobility, she can roaming easily, she has very good ganks (slow, stun and damage) her scaling is very high with a little of AP. And she has a snowball.

Why she isn't in the list?

    ReplyDelete
  117. Can someone explain why Vel'Coz is god tier? He seems to me to be a worse version of Xerath, but of course I'm no expert on the game.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Nicolas CageAugust 30, 2014

He's alright. If he gets ahead during the laning phase (which, inevitably, he will) and gets an early Muramana/Trinity Force his damage output can get to be pretty impressive.

He scales into the mid-game well with his ult and limited utility anyways, though.

His late-game isn't very impressive, but otherwise he's fairly strong. Meta seems to be slightly shifting to a mid-game emphasis as well with the apparent comeback of assassins.

Xerath is even slower and depends on a skill that slows him to poke

    ReplyDelete
  123. Why is Elise so low...

    ReplyDelete
  124. Explain the Jax move down to tier 2 please, his laning phase is still decent, splitpushing ability is unmatched, and he is really good at shredding tanks/carries once you get a BorK. Even though those base nerfs hit him really hard, he still has IMO, the best kit in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  125. well if you miss 5 blitz hooks in a row, you pretty much deserve to lose

    ReplyDelete
  126. The item changes weren't that nice to him even though they made Essence Reaver. Since IE became op, Triforce has become mediocre to ADCs.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Olaf should be higher dude, his win rate has gone up quite a bit since his buffs, his laning phase is one of the stronger laning phases, he is a great peeler/splitpusher for your team. I know he can't rush for the ADC but he has other great uses today that no-one is realizing.

    ReplyDelete

Earlier, Kog's main advantage was that any time he pressed his steroid on in lane, he'd be able to out-trade pretty much anybody off sheer right clicks, then kite them to death via his slow once they realized he did more damage.

Now that he's been nerfed he's pretty much in-line with the rest of them, and with his lack of escapes it's now a problem.

Can you add an explanation as to how Nunu and Kha'zix climbed to Tier 1? Also, I think Kennen doesn't deserve to be Tier 1 anymore. His win rate and low popularity might explain it all. Lastly, I agree with Blitz going to God tier. I myself have started banning that annoying booty-grabbing support since a lot of people (specifically in high-elos) can make bot lane a completely unsafe place to be once he start landing those perfect hooks.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Hey, i really want to know why urgot is in the lowest tier for top. I play urgot a lot and i rarely lose my lane ( I Lost 1 time my lane the last 5 games and still won). I completely agree that urgot is bad ADC but i m sure he is at leasr a tier 2 top laner. He requires a lot of skill but when u achieve that he is strong. Pls answear and tell me ur opinion. I m open to discuss.

    ReplyDelete
  145. If you read the actual tier descriptions, Kass does require more skill than usual to play. Most people only play Kass because they've heard how OP the champion is/was. Yet most people have never really had the skill to master the champion in the first place. Now there is a higher skill requirement to understand when to use the ult. Plus it now takes a little bit longer to ramp up to godlike status which in junction with not having a great early start, and the champion isn't going to seem that great. Until you get one that gets an early gank support from their jungler, then starts the typical roam assassination pattern and suddenly a skilled player is back to being really good.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Well just because YOU can play him doesn't mean he should be moved up. ANY champion could be considered GOD tier by someone who masters them. That said the tiers are GENERAL recommendations not complete and utter guidelines to follow. Just because Kog'Maw is listed in tier 4 mid doesn't mean there aren't players who play and dominate on that champion (just look at Korea for example). So stating that I'm good at certain champions isn't a good validation for why they should be moved up, rather just that such a champion fits your play style.

  151. Ahh SSJ.. When are you gonna drop vi out of god tier? she has been there for a very very long time but i never saw her get any more over 51% win rate (50.33% at the moment)she might have those awesome ganks on level 3 and 6 but i still don't think she fits the current meta if she goes tank she will not be able to deal with their adc pretty well and if she builds damage she will die pretty fast cause she can't really stick to the adc or mid laner after she uses her ult to initiate on him and her Q can be simply blocked by anybody standing in her way and might be hard to hit if she gets slowed.

Oh and kha'zix pretty much deserves the place more seeing him played much more in the lcs and increasing in win rates each day.

    Thanks for your time ^^

    ReplyDelete
  152. Well I still think Vi deserve god tier and I completly agree on kha.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I also think Jax is a strong champ. but his win-rate is still low, probably because he has bad teamfighting (which is crucial in soloQ) and takes too long to scale. Good in skilled hands though.
Renekton has fallen out of favour, damage falls off late, poke-heavy top-laners are popular and if you die early, it is VERY hard to catch up. He is supposed to be a tank late-game, but there are better peelers than him right now. Also, in low elos, people with early game champs like Renekton, Elise or Lee Sin don't take advantage of that powerspike, and the late-game champs dominate later.

I have a small problem, I have used this list combined with lolking stats to determine what champs I play (highly underrated but extremely strong) and I discovered malzahar who I absolutely love, and sona who is my favorite support. the only other champs I am good with are Mordekaiser <3 and sivir. and as everyone knows that only covers 3 positions I am looking for a new strong top lane and jungler.

There are a ton of junglers that are really strong right now, I'd suggest just picking up Amumu since he's fairly simple, never banned, and scales really well. My go-to top laner is Yorick since his strategy is very simple and he does well in the current meta.

Yorick looks cool I will try him out, I have tried Amumu but he really never worked well for me

I play Karma mid all the time and I have 0 problems against popular assassins... Karma simply destroys Katarina and Akali since she can poke them all day from distance and when they engage onto her she can just disengage with her W... Fizz is hilarious vs Karma since he can't really do anything when she snares him while he is in mid air. Also, I've beaten Talon almost all the time, since you can outpoke him and snare him and then R+Q when he jumps to you... Yeah, she does require a lot of skill in terms of knowing to cast your W before they jump to you, but she is really OP in terms of damage and utility she provides for her team. And she is a safe pick on top of that, so I would probably put her in God tier for mid, just sayin'.

  164. MistweaverAugust 31, 2014

And yeah... her win rate is low mostly because she is played as a support where she doesn't really belong... Sure she has a strong early game as a support, but without farm she does fall of pretty hard mid and late game, since she doesn't provide a game changing ulti like most others supports do and you would be left feeling useless if your team isn't doing well. But when going mid Karma you can have that OP damage and still be a support in terms of utility for your team, so you can definetly carry with Karma mid, but not with Karma support. She is just a misunderstood champion.

How good is swain top, as good as his mid? I'm getting destroyed by swains feeding of my mid lanes these days

    ReplyDelete
  168. Yea I didn't look at his win-rate, its in line with Olaf now lol

    ReplyDelete
  169. Yup, God Tier for both, reason is because of the ranged-poke top lane meta, he can outsustain/damage almost any top laner today.

    ReplyDelete
  170. What type of jungler are you looking for? A early game aggro jungler, AFK farm jungler, or a tanky-CC jungler?

  171. Come on dude! It's not that much of a troll thing!

its pretty good on him, with his invis but bc is so good on wukong to pass up. so i get both sometimes and its pretty beast i recommend giving it a shot anyway...

  175. "She does require a lot of skill...." This is probably the reason that Karma is not in God tier. Any champion in the game when mastered can put up some huge stats. That said, the point is to look at how average users of a champion do. When comparing Karma from a kit stand point there is nothing that unique really about the kit compared to other champions. Saying that they can poke and out sustain others isn't really that uncommon for some other poke champions. The snare and poke damage do make for a nice kit against champions, but doesn't necessarily make her OP. Plus as tier 2 being balanced isn't a bad thing. You could argue the utility of the kit could move up to a strong choice but I don't think she's really God tier as you don't really see the kit as something to ban away (which is ultimately what the God tier is about, being so strong you'd first pick it OR ban it away to keep someone from picking it against you). As a counter pick to assassins Karma is a good pick. BUT not everyone plays assassins so picking it into a non-assassin doesn't necessarily lead to as great of results (plus counter picking still comes down to skill of players not necessarily the champions themselves).

Personally I think he should still be in at least tier 1, because he probably has the most consistant power level in game. He never falls off (in fact he's a late game monster), his laning is actually pretty strong with his w and he has a really good mid game (tristana has a terrible mid game). Even if his ult was nerfed i still think his w dmg is more than enough to make him still a top tier adc

    ReplyDelete
  177. But you won't necessarily... hence God tier.

  178. wukong onlyAugust 31, 2014

Really, I thought it was because he wrecks pretty much any melee, even pre 6.

    ReplyDelete
  179. He wrecks the range meta too.

    ReplyDelete
  180. wukong onlyAugust 31, 2014

My d1 friend said he was happy to see a swain mid as zyra because of the range difference, but I've only played him against melees before, so I only know that against melees he's a free win. But the ranged meta sucks against him to because they all have weak ranges, which is what swain wants right?

    ReplyDelete
  181. Trundle is somewhat dependent on what he is being played into. Against big tanks building tons of health and armor Trundle can be quite good. Against ranged tops he's pretty useless. That said there isn't really a great reason to pick him, but it doesn't mean he is unplayable. It essentially would all come down to counter picking, which depends on the skill of the players involved and the comfort level of the champions in question..

    ReplyDelete
  182. Well in top range is different because you get closer-ranged people like ryze, jayce, Nidalee, the mediocre range champs. In mid range is like Xerath, Syndra, Ziggs. So Swain is good vs mediocre range in top lane, not long range in mid.

    ReplyDelete
  183. wukong onlyAugust 31, 2014

Yea thats what I thought, but he still destroys mids that aren't careful to stay out of his range.

i feel like god tier mid should be rearranged to Talon>Vel'koz>Swain, just because of the fact that velkoz is a counter to swain.

  185. wukong onlyAugust 31, 2014

Eh, blitz got more popular in both solo queu and competitive, and I've been seeing more grabs landed lately in my games, so I guess that's my thought.
No comment on adcs, idk too much but seen some good corkis lately so he seems strong.

As for dr. mundo, he just seems meh until late game, and I see too much mundos dying mid game with ult on like a joke.
Yea' vi is pretty beast, but I just don't know if she's god, though she probably is.
Yea, that's pretty much how I feel about wukong.
As for vel'koz, I've seen like 5 supports but never a mid lane one. It seems like he is a good support to me, since he pretty much has the best level 6 all in, as well as good peel with e..

  186. KingoftheSocksAugust 31, 2014

Tier 3/4 I'd imagine, he's pretty fragile early leaving him open to early invades, requires good knowledge of his q, also has one cc. He's good late if he has a few kills under his belt but his job is done better mid.

Although his clear is top quality

    ReplyDelete
  187. You forgot Zac top. It was tier 2 last patch. Please look into it.

    ReplyDelete
  188. wukong onlyAugust 31, 2014

Yea I thought about it, some games I've got close to building it instead of bc but never bothered. It seems like it could help a lot though. So what you're saying is bc is better but youmuus is still good right. What games do u build youmuus in?

    ReplyDelete
  189. MistweaverAugust 31, 2014

Yea, but if your team needs a mage, I would probably go with Karma, because she is a safe pick, rarely loses lane, since she has a long range short cooldown Q and an ulti from level 1 so her poke is stronger than on many other champions early and she is impossible to gank. I like her kit because it contains everything - a cc, a slow, a shield, a movement speed boost, a large aoe pool that does damage and slows and also a heal for her... so I would at least put her in tier 1... well, she maybe isn't OP but she is definitely strong in solo queue. I gave an example of Karma vs assasins because everyone is talking about them nowadays... Against traditional mages it's even easier since they are immobile and you can just poke from distance and W + R + Q for a kill... And If Vel'Koz is god tier, I think Karma deserves also because she is overall a stronger champion than him in my opinion

  190. Explanation on why Zac top was moved from tier 2 to 3? I feel like AP bruiser top laners are very strong right now.

    ReplyDelete
  191. KingoftheSocksAugust 31, 2014

Depending on what type of jungler you want it can differ.
Early pressure:(Vi), Kha Zix, Jarvan, Rammus, Udyr
Level 6 all in: (Amumu), Nocturne, Warwick, Rengar
    Feral Flare: Master Yi, (Warwick)
    Tanky utility: (Nautilus), Udyr, Volibear
I don't consider these god tier but I've had success with these champs.

    ReplyDelete
  192. KingoftheSocksAugust 31, 2014

But you cannot argue with the utility and early pressure she brings. Typically building sotel and Black cleaver are enough to give her good damage and then you build tank after that and sit in the front line ready to engage on the adc. Her ult is always relevant. An undodgeable engage that locks down a champ is too good to pass up, her clear is fast, has good early ganks and damage, fits into many team comps, great mobility and even if shut down early can just build tank the focus on engages. She is definately god tier

    ReplyDelete
  193. SquirrelNutkinsAugust 31, 2014

Top of Tier 1 is fine for her. Amumu should be alone in god tier jungle. Its true that everyone in god tier jungle is GOOD, but the gap between Amumu and whoever is behind him (or in this case, in front of him, disagree with Warwick's placement) is a significant jump in overall power. Amumu has held the highest win rate for so long...Ridiculous AOE team fight, ganks, lvl 6, acts as a tank...Vi is a big down grade.

    ReplyDelete
  194. KingoftheSocksAugust 31, 2014

Amumu and Rammus I feel should be the only Gods under that system. They consistently hold the top 3 places.

I find it funny however that only Kayle has beaten Amumu in win rates. I never knew crying Mummies were so powerful
