Riot announced it on August 16. Rasmus "Caps" Winther, G2's mid laner, became the third inductee into the LoL Esports Hall of Legends, and the first Western pro to get there. He picked up the trophy at a ceremony in Berlin on August 18, and the in-game event followed with Patch 26.18 on September 10.
His timing is good. G2 swept Movistar KOI 3-0 in the LEC playoff final, Caps is still in the mid lane, and the team heads to Worlds in the US next month. Our Worlds 2026 FAQ has every date and start time.
Who's in the Hall of Legends?
One player a year since the program started in 2024. Each one gets a trophy, an event pass built around their career, and a set of skins they helped design.

How does a player get in?
Riot staff in each region nominate about 20 players, and every one of them needs at least five cumulative years in Tier 1 competition. An independent panel of 50 esports veterans from every region then votes. They weigh international berths, international and regional titles, role-specific stats and a player's overall contribution to the sport.
So it isn't a fan vote, and Riot doesn't pick the winner itself. Caps got in on a résumé Riot sums up as "the most decorated player in European League of Legends history."
Riot's announcement calls him "a beacon of hope" for the West, and the pass leans hard on that. One of the last rewards on the track is a Beacon of Hope banner.
The Caps skins and what they cost
Caps co-developed the Tristana skins. They're sold as three collections, and each tier includes everything in the one below it:

Bundles are prorated, so you're not charged twice for the parts you already own when you upgrade later. The one I didn't see coming is that the 5,035 RP Risen Legend Collection already includes the 1,950 RP pass. A Tristana player can skip the pass and go straight to that.
Orianna gets a skin too. Risen Legend Orianna sits at level 10 of the pass itself, with a border and icon at 15 and a Mythclimber chroma near the top. The rest of the track holds Freljord Taliyah, Elderwood LeBlanc and Empyrean Akali, a "Martin 1" title, an Unkillable Demon Cactus ward and a Caps and Faker icon.
How to level the pass fast
This pass has no pass XP. Every objective hands you levels directly, and plain playtime counts too: one level for every 50 points you earn in any League or TFT matchmade game, with extra points for winning or playing in a premade.
Five games, 20 levels. Play five games as Orianna, Tristana, LeBlanc, Azir or Ryze and you get 20 levels at once. It only counts once, but it's a fifth of the track.
Weekly takedowns. 50 takedowns and 100 takedowns are worth six levels each, every week. Takedowns on those same five champions count double.
Daily game. One game a day is worth another level.
Levels you can't reach by playing cost 95 RP each once you own the pass.
When does the Caps event end?
Progress stops on October 19 at 11:59 PM PT. You can still buy the pass and claim loot until October 20 at 11 AM PT. The Worlds Swiss Stage doesn't start until October 23, so the event is gone before G2's run in Texas gets going.
Part of every pass and bundle sale goes to Caps and to LoL Esports teams. The skins leave the store when the event ends, though Riot says they could come back later.
