Patch 9.4
Rek'Sai buffs this patch have shot her up to new levels. Meanwhile, nerfs to Lucian are slowly inviting a more passive laning phase for champions like Sivir and Ezreal to take the wheel. While this doesn't make for the most exciting lanes, it does allow marksmen to make a much bigger impact on the game through steady farming.Check out the full list below!

Instructions and Caveats:
- Champions in BOLD I will talk about shortly
- Champions UNDERLINED may be over/undervalued, but aren't/haven't played enough for me to make a better judgment.
- Within each tier, the champions are strongest from left to right, but within a tier each champion's strength is relatively close. This is especially true for Tiers 2 and 3 where these champions are ALL highly playable and player dependent on how strong they are in-game.
- Win Rates are important in analyzing each champion's strength but are not the end-all criteria for any champion's position.
- Professional Picks may not necessarily translate into good picks for solo queue ladder, the two have slightly different meta-games and skill levels.
- The creator of this list is diamond so there may be some personal bias towards higher tier play on certain champions.
Champion Explanations
- Graves [Tier 1 Jungle] - If you're still going Fleet Footwork Graves jungle you're doing it wrong. Hail of Blades is the new name of the game, and his damage output with this rune setup is incredibly good. Check out more details on how to pull it off via this article.
- Jax [God Tier Top] - Late game Jax has always been a serious pain. Ever since the release of Spear of Shojin, his mobility and subsequently raw damage has shot through the roof. His two item power spike was always the major concern, but now he can power spike and keep on spiking.
- Jinx [God Tier Marksman] - Jinx is likely one of the most underrated marksmen in the game right now. Her laning phase has always been her weakest point, but now that players are prioritizing farm with champions like Ezreal and Sivir, expect her to start shooting to the top.
- Karthus [Tier 1 Jungle] - The nerfs to Karthus didn't make him unplayable, but he's clearly weaker in damage, giving enemies more opportunity to counterplay and take him down.
- Kled [God Tier Top] - Kled has always been extremely oppressive in lane. Ever since the latest Conqueror rework, he's even more so. He no longer needs an initial ramp up in damage, and can simply all-in enemy champions at will.
- Nunu [God Tier Jungle] - As one of the tankiest champions in the game, he's got excellent objective control and ganking power. When you combine this with his high mobility and team buffs, he's very strong in the current meta.
- Rek'Sai [God Tier Jungle] - The latest buffs to Rek'Sai looked relatively mediocre...other than the change to her ultimate. Enemies can now only dodge Void Rush [R] by dashing or blinking massive distances away from Rek'Sai (1500 units). That's a little less than a full-length Graves ultimate. Basically, you're not getting away.
- Sivir [God Tier Marksman] - I see a lot of discussion on Sivir and how good she is in the current meta. Most players are opting to farm rather than go highly aggressive on marksmen now that the whole "level two powerspike" is fairly obvious and easy to see. This is combined with a slow drop in Lucian's win rate and a rise in champions with more passive strategies. When it comes to this, few do it as well as Sivir. To further amplify the effect, critical hit items were buffed last patch, resulting in massive bounce damage from her Ricochet [W].
- Thresh [God Tier Support] - Thresh has never been considered an "easy" champion to play. However, the kill potential he has on his hook is incredibly high. Even if he misses most of his hooks in lane, as long as he hits one eventually there's kill pressure on the enemy lane. Meanwhile, his utility is undesputably good and synergizes well with the heavy gank meta.
- The purpose of this list is for discussion and to provide a starting point for champion selection.
