FOTM 6 Months After Buff: Jungle Nunu!

Back in January, our favorite Yeti received the following buffs:

- Base attack speed increased to .625 from .613
- Attack speed per level increased to 2.25 from 1.08

We all figured he'd be pretty strong all things considered with a faster clear time and better clinging power with red buff. But nobody really touched him with heroes like Lee Sin, Udyr, and Skarner clawing the throne...

Until June's Buff!
Visionary: attacks required to activate reduced to 5 from 7.
Consume:
Damage increased to 500/600/700/800/900 from 400/525/650/775/900.
Damage dealt to Dragon and Baron increased to 100% from 50%.
Cooldown reduced to 16/14/12/10/8 seconds from 18/16/14/12/10.
Now, welcome to July's Jungle FOTM, Nunu! With Malphite and Nocturne nerfs impending along with a slew of other jungler nerfs from January to now, Nunu is finally rising up to be a top jungler with remnants of his former glory.

Starting with boots, he has an extremely safe jungle if he gets a good leash, even without pots (as a result of his consume abilities).

He can also easily consume blue wraith or brown wolf for a quick counterjungle, and with the not-so-new jungle changes, taking that big creep gives more than ever before (despite faster respawn times.)

Ganking
His ganks are similar to Gangplank's as he gives both himself and the laner a speed boost. However, he also provides a massive slow and a possible sexy ult if they don't move fast enough. Late game this bloodboil essentially gives your AD carry a free phantom dancer!

Nunu's Faceroll Build
Since Nunu takes on more of a support-jungler build, he can easily build support runes/masteries (0/16/14) as well as stack gold generating items and still be an extremely powerful force to be reckoned with in ganks as well as 1v1 (in some cases).

Future nerfs on the horizon
Nunu himself won't be touched, but the Gold items will be receiving a nerf in the near future, decreasing his facerolling power substantially. Enjoy him while you can!

You made the Yeti angry.

  1. Or FOTM could be also because of:

Visionary: attacks required to activate reduced to 5 from 7.

    Consume:

Damage increased to 500/600/700/800/900 from 400/525/650/775/900.
Damage dealt to Dragon and Baron increased to 100% from 50%.
Cooldown reduced to 16/14/12/10/8 seconds from 18/16/14/12/10.

Because these probably had even more of the impact, than the january changes.
