Every one of these five champions owns a button that makes an enemy ability do nothing at all. Time them right and the other team runs out of spells before it runs out of health.
Top Team Comps
Nothing Lands
Fiora · Kindred · Mel · Sivir · Braum
Most teams answer a big ultimate by surviving it. This one answers by refusing to let it happen. Five champions, five different ways to turn the enemy's best cast into a wasted cooldown.
The thread here is spell negation rather than raw tankiness. Riposte [W], Lamb's Respite [R], Rebuttal [W], Spell Shield [E] and Unbreakable [E] all blank an incoming ability instead of absorbing it, so the enemy pays the full cooldown and gets nothing back. Play the fight around those five windows and the other team has to win with whatever is left over.

Champions
TOP
Top Lane – Fiora
Fiora is the only champion in the game who answers a spell by punishing the person who cast it. Riposte [W] eats the damage and hands back a stun, which means the enemy top laner's engage tool is also the thing that loses them the trade. She is here for the split push as much as the parry: Grand Challenge [R] turns a sidelane 1v1 into a team-wide heal, and this comp badly wants a lane that pressures on its own.
JNG
Jungle – Kindred
Everyone else on this list blanks one ability. Lamb's Respite [R] blanks the entire kill. Drop it under a diving enemy team and their whole combo becomes a very expensive way to leave four people standing in a circle they cannot finish anyone in. Stacking Mark of the Kindred [Passive] also gives the comp something to do with its early game, which otherwise looks a lot like farming.
MID
Mid Lane – Mel
Reflection is a rarer effect than a shield and a much ruder one. Rebuttal [W] sends the spell back at whoever threw it, so a mistimed ultimate is not just wasted, it is a counterattack. That single button is why she leads this comp rather than joining it. Solar Snare [E] gives her the root the rest of the roster is short on, and Golden Eclipse [R] scales off how much the enemy team has already been marked up.
ADC
Bot Lane – Sivir
Every hook, every root, every pick-off ultimate aimed at the carry has to get through Spell Shield [E] first, and a marksman who cannot be caught is what keeps a comp like this together. She pays her way in other places too: Boomerang Blade [Q] and Ricochet [W] give the team the waveclear it needs to keep stalling, and On The Hunt [R] is the only real engage or disengage tool on the roster.
SUP
Support – Braum
Braum covers the gap Sivir leaves, because Unbreakable [E] stops the first projectile outright and cuts everything behind it for the whole team, not just the carry. Against a poke or artillery draft that is closer to a wall than a shield. Stand Behind Me [W] lets him jump to whoever is being focused, and Concussive Blows [Passive] means the stun arrives even though nobody on this team is building damage in a hurry.
Key Concepts
- Negation is a timing skill, not a stat. Every one of these five buttons is worthless when pressed early and game-winning when pressed on the right cast, so this comp rewards players who watch the enemy's hands rather than their own cooldowns.
- Do not spend the denial on the opening move. Enemy teams learn to throw a cheap spell first to bait Spell Shield [E] or Riposte [W] out. Eating that one and saving the real answer for the follow-up is the difference between a won fight and five champions with nothing left.
- The comp has no hard engage, so it has to win by stalling. Take the fights that come to you, farm side waves with Sivir and Fiora, and let the enemy start something they cannot finish.
- Sustained damage beats you and burst does not. That shapes bans and drafts more than anything else here.
Countering
The counter is not to play around the denial. It is to make the denial irrelevant by dealing damage that does not arrive in a single cast. Persistent zones, auto attack pressure and damage over time all keep working while the shields are up, and a spell shield cannot block a decision to just walk forward.
Here is an example team that may succeed:
TOP
Top – Jax
His damage lives in auto attacks, so there is nothing for Riposte [W] to catch, and Counter Strike [E] beats Fiora at her own game.
JNG
Jungle – Volibear
Stormbringer [R] shuts off a turret, which forces this comp out of the stall it wants, and Frenzied Maul [W] chews through a Lamb's Respite [R] circle the moment it expires.
MID
Mid – Rumble
Flamespitter [Q] and The Equalizer [R] deal damage in a stream rather than a hit, which is exactly what a shield built for one instance cannot handle.
ADC
Marksman – Vayne
Silver Bolts [W] punishes the tanky, patient shape this comp takes, and Condemn [E] answers Fiora and Braum when either walks in.
SUP
Support – Gragas
A cheap Body Slam [E] baits the denial out, and then Explosive Cask [R] scatters the team that was relying on standing together.
