Solo Queue FOTM Tier List - March - Patch 6.6

Hey everyone! Today we're pushing out the double whammy by updating both the standard solo queue list and FOTM tier list at the same time. Now that I think about it, maybe we should stop calling it solo queue with the new multi-queue setup...

Anyway, this time around most of the usual suspects are still floating about, but there are definitely some new kids on the block, including top lane Rammus and of course, the release of the new champion Aurelion Sol. From initial reactions it seems like the majority of players do like playing Aurelion, so his popularity may sustain through the honeymoon phase like Jhin before him.

That being said, check out the full listing below!

Instructions and Caveats:
  • This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

Champion Explanations

  • Braum [Tier 1 Support] - When it comes to early level one cheese supports, few are able to do it quite as well as Braum. When combined with someone with a level one chase tool like Kalista, early game kills are not only possible, but probable. The fact that he can also almost completely negate a large number of skill shots has made him extremely beloved on the rift.
  • Jayce [Tier 2 Mid] - After the latest buffs to Jayce, we are starting to see a lot more of him in the mid lane. However, he's by no means the powerhouse he was a few seasons back.
  • Jhin [God Tier Marksman] - After a somewhat shaky start, Jhin has earned his place amongst the marksman greats. With his strong sniping power and trading potential, Jhin more than makes up for his low mobility with sheer damage and range.
  • Karma [Tier 2 Mid] - The latest buffs are slowly pushing Karma towards a more prominent role as a mid-laner. Her strong nukes are short range, but pack a punch against enemies not wary of her damage output. She also kites tanks very easily, allowing her decent amounts of success in the current meta.
  • Kog'Maw [Tier 1 Marksman] - Despite being nerfed and getting hit with a bug that made him very weak last patch, Kog'maw is still surging quite a bit as a marksman and draws many bans.
  • Leblanc [God Tier Mid] - After seeing a brief drop in popularity, Leblanc has come back stronger than ever before with high popularity in upper divisions. Her tricky nature combined with her burst potential are just as feared as always when she's in the hands of a pro.
  • Nautilus [God Tier Top] - The current meta revolves around tanky top laners with high CC, and Nautilus is as tanky and high as they come. Constantly banned, the free stats and impossibly dense constitution make him a respected opponent on the rift.
  • Quinn [Tier 2 Mid] - Quinn has found her place primarily as a top laner and a jungler. As a result, we rarely see her mid now, despite her amazing roam potential.
  • Rammus [Tier 1 Top] - Surprisingly, Rammus top has absolutely caught fire as an impossible to kill split-pusher with Zz'Rot portal. His waveclear is still pretty bad in lane, but while proxying he can pull off some obnoxious plays.
  • Sona [Tier 2 Support] - One of the oldest supports on the rift, Sona sees relatively little play nowadays, even less than the formerly shunned Karma support. Her early game is good and she scales well with AP, but her lack of early game utility keeps her on the sidelines.
