Champions like Varus and Jhin and quickly becoming the top favorites, and Rengar and Kha'Zix are still heavily target banned for their ability to instantly delete champions.

Meanwhlie, Malzahar continues pulling in a lot of bans despite the nerfs to his voidlings this patch, and Camille is still the most heavily banned champion in the game despite her rapidly dropping win rate.

Instructions and Caveats:

• This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

God Tier: These champions are common bans and are likely perceived as being "overall extremely strong/broken". They have very obvious and/or flashy skills that make them appear stronger than other champions. You'll likely see these champions picked early on if they're not banned.

Tier 1: These champions are the ones you'll see in the majority of your games and are good to familiarize yourself with as you'l be battling against them a lot.

Tier 2: These champions are relatively strong and have historically been picked more often than other champions. They may have been nerfed at one point at another, but are still perceived as strong in their current states.

Tier 3: These champions aren't quite as popular as the rest of the champions in the first 3 tiers, but picking them one at a time isn't going to cause much of a concern on your team. However, if you have a team of 5 of them your teammates are likely to feel a bit uneasy about your chances of winning in solo queue.

Tier 4: Selecting these champions will likely cause a rift between you and your teammates, who will proceed to flame you if you fail your lane. Exercise caution when selecting these champions, as team morale often plays a big part in victory or defeat.

Champion Explanations

• Kha'Zix [God Tier Jungle] - The Patch 7.2 lethality changes brought Kha'Zix to a whole new level of annoying, Although he received some nerfs in patch 7.3 that brought him down quite a bit in power, he continues to be the second most played jungler in this patch.
• Varus [God Tier Marksman] - Continuous picks on Varus in the pro scene have granted Varus a level of popularity he has not seen in quite some time. The lethality changes greatly amplified his already powerful poke damage and allow him to chunk enemy teams without counterplay.
• Shen [Tier 1 Top] - Shen in his current state is an excellent anti-tank champion. His ability to impact the game is high when he's sitting in a farm lane against champions that cannot quickly take out turrets. As a result, professionals are picking him up more often as a result of his ability to make high impact plays bot lane in coordinated fights.
• Quinn [Tier 1 Top] - Although Quinn still doesn't see much professional level play, she is definitely becoming very popular in solo queue. her ability to dominate lanes makes her extremely fun to play, and her roaming ability is excellent even in higher divisions.
• Miss Fortune [Tier 1 Marksman] - Similar to Varus, the lethality changes greatly help this primarily spellcasting marksman. Both of them do not need to build much attack speed as a result of their free attack speed boosters, and instead rely primarily on cooldown and lethality to do most of their damage.
• Zyra [Tier 1 Support] - After the nerfs to Zyra's plant AI, her overall power is greatly diminished. However, she continues to be one of the most popular supports as a result of her excellent poking power and team fight ability. I expect her to be gradually replaced by Morgana and Karma for enhanced survivability in the upcoming patches.
• Ziggs [Tier 2 Marksman] - Ziggs marksman is still "a thing" if you really want to do it this patch, but after the lethality changes in patch 7.2 he's largely dead. When marksmen like Jhin, Miss Fortune, and Varus scale so hard with lethality, most ADC mains are going back to their old favorites.
• Camille [Tier 3 Support] - After Echo Fox's win with Camille support, players picked her up for a bit to test out. Of course, she's usually still banned, so it's not like you'll see it much anyway. More details on how that happened here.
