Introduction

The latest Riot installment comes packed with its fastest game-mode yet. Packed full of constant action, it seems inevitable that support will continue for the game past its alpha stage. Now I've gotten a few requests for a tier list, but before I start, I need to caveat this list saying:

DISCLAIMER: This game mode is for fun and should really be kept that way. With that being said, I'd encourage you to try out new champion strategies and let us know how it goes! Every champion is viable in this mode, but here are the top ones if you feel like try-harding!

With that out of the way, pick a few of your favorites, balance your team out, and get out there and play some Nexus Blitz!

Tier List Categorization

The way the game is currently playing right now is mostly a massive ARAM fest. There's a jungle that two players are forced into, but for most games, that's just an initial quick farm and then roam the rest of the game.

Thus, I've separated this list mostly into tanks, ranged champions, and bruisers. Assassins don't perform very well in this game and support champions fall in one of the other roles.

If you have any recommendations for reorganizing the list I'd love to hear it as well!

Champion Explanations

  • Alistar [Tier 1 Tank] - Alistar's one of the strongest tanks in the game, and he's quite good on this map simply because of his headbutt, which can pretty much 100 to 0 enemies during certain events. Outside of events he's not quite as effective but can still do the usual Alistar things.
  • Lux [God Tier Ranged] - On a map as small and linear as Nexus Blitz, Lux is one of the most incredibly broken picks there is. Similar to how she is on Howling Abyss, her ability to dominate small corridor team fights bustling with champions is immense.
  • Master Yi [God Tier Bruiser] - The release (re-release?) of Sword of Divine shot Master Yi up to new heights. His jungling prowess is also incredibly good on this map. Arguably, he's one of the few champions in this game that can reliably speed through jungle and still participate consistently in team fights.
  • Miss Fortune [God Tier Ranged] - Similar to Lux, the narrow corridors make Miss Fortune an absolute god on this map. When you couple it with the fact that this game mode is largely offense based rather than tanks stacking armor, MF's damage is through the roof.
  • Poppy [God Tier Bruiser] - Poppy is the absolutely the most broken bruiser in the game. Some people prefer the consistency of Jax and Yasuo, but Poppy can single-handedly win the game by herself just through the use of her busted ultimate. The events almost all favor Poppy, especially since she comes equipped with the longest range displacement spell in the game.
  • Singed [Tier 1 Bruiser] - This map has a good collection of things that make it great for Singed overall. His fling may not be as far-reaching as Alistar's headbutt, but he deals a good amount of damage and is able to initiate from farther ranges by way of the movespeed from his ultimate.
  • Sona [Tier 1 Ranged] - Sona's definitely very good on this map just like she is on Howling Abyss. However, the close ranges of this map make it much easier to engage on her. Being a relatively squishy champion with low mobility, she can be flattened much easier on this mode. I wouldn't consider her top tier by any means, but with the right team comp she can feel unstoppable,
  • Taric [God Tier Tank] - When it comes to constant fighting, Taric has absolutely everything that you would want for close-quarters. His stun can fill up nearly the entire lane with good positioning, and his ultimate changes the entire dynamic of the game when it comes to forced team fights.
Again, since this is a relatively new game mode without a particular meta set in stone, I'd love to hear more about what you guys are playing and how well you've been doing!
