How to Play
Runes: 1 Armor Quints, 2 Attack Speed Quints, Attack Damage Reds, Flat Armor Yellows, Flat Magic Resist Blues
Masteries: 9-21-0, Tank Jungler Masteries
Abilities: W, Q, E then prioritize R > W > Q > E
Core items: Ranger's + Cinderhulk, Trinity Force or Iceborn Gauntlet, Spirit Visage, Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen

Why It Works
Excellent With/Against AD TeamsAs a champion that provides both large scale armor bonuses and armor penetration, Taric works excellently keeping your allies a little less prone to getting instantly gimped vs assassins like Talon or poke from champions like Varus. As the only way to provide passive armor to your allies, his passive is pretty much the AD version of the all-powerful Aegis that I've always tried to convince you is good.
Easy Ganks
Unlike a lot of other champions that require skillshots to successfully gank enemies, Taric's gank is a very simple targeted stun, allowing follow-up from laners.
High Sustain Jungler
With the large amount of armor Taric naturally builds coupled with his self-heal, counterjunglers will find a tough time actually killing Taric before help arrives. Even with his shatter on cooldown, as a champion that naturally builds armor, it's very difficult to burst him down.

Potential Pitfalls

As he has mostly utility spells, Taric does find some difficultly quickly clearing camps and may be more suitable as primarily a ganker or even a counter-jungler himself.

If either team is sporting two AP carries, then Taric's effectiveness is greatly diminished and has questionable effectiveness.
Short Range Damage
Although people often underestimate the amount of sheer damage Taric can put out by himself, he does have to get in very close to deal his damage. However, because he doesn't have a gap closer and relies on his stun to rush in, he doesn't work well as a primary initiator in teamfights, even if he gets fed.

Conclusions
Jungle Taric is an excellent ganker and can be strong in a game with many AD-based champions. However, he's definitely a situational pick.
