Massive AOE Loves Resets

This team composition specializes in massive AOE damage in combination with resets for Twitch and Katarina, resulting in the ability to turn around and one-shot the entire enemy team instantly. It packs plenty of crowd-control and multiple threats, choosing to focus on pure AOE damage to win fights.

Single Target Pulls Are Lame

Let's go for AOE pulls instead! This team composition features a crazy amount of crowd control and spotlights the latest flavor of the month, Swain support. By stacking AOE crowd controls on top of each other, this team composition grants an insane amount of versatility when it comes to engaging the enemy team.

Champions
  • Xayah [Marksman] - On a team that's designed to be highly offensive instead of defensive, picking up Xayah here is a no-brainer. Her AOE root compliments the rest of this team nicely and her self-peel lets her stay relatively safe against diving back lines.
  • Mordekaiser [Mid] - King of the 1v1s, Mordekaiser fits in this team composition nicely as one of the longest range AOE claw champions in the game sitting at 700 range. He also helps this team stack up the front line, which greatly helps with diving the enemy team and making up a bit for his jungler's lack of bulk.
  • Swain [Support] - Although Swain is already played a decent amount, he's never been played quite as much as he is now in the support role. Swain's 850 range pull synergizes extremely well with Mordekaiser's, and stacking them on top of each other will bring enemy teams to their knees. As a support he's extremely oppressive against the majority of marksmen due to his E outranging pretty much everyone early game. More on Swain support here.
  • Taliyah [Jungler] - Taliyah is always a staple jungle pick as of last year, and in this role she acts as a fast-moving jungler with plenty of crowd-control to stack on her laner's already formidable amount. She also brings to this team some much-needed long-range poke damage, but her burst damage is also extremely powerful and synergizes well with the other bursters on this team.
  • Darius[Top] - In terms of AOE pulls Darius may not be the longest range one, but he's definitely the fastest. If you find your enemies somewhat elusive, picking up Darius and smacking a quick flash pull can be enough to completely turn the tides of a game. If you prefer more of higher impact but slower initiation, Gnar and also be swapped here and work just as well.

Key Concepts

  • This team is extremely flexible and really anyone can initiate. Mordekaiser can act as peel if the enemy team has someone particularly annoying that keeps successfully diving the back line.
  • Be aggressive, this team thrives on offense and waiting for plays to happen is not good for this low poke low sustain team (low without actually fighting).

Countering

Countering this team mostly involves long-range kite champions to avoid the massive AOE crowd-control of this team.

Here is an example team that may succeed:
  • Xerath [Mid] - As the longest range mage in the game, Xerath's poke is more than enough to keep this enemy team on their toes.
  • Dr. Mundo [Jungle] - Another flavor of the month pick, Dr. Mundo jungle is extremely strong right now. His crowd-control reduction abilities and ability to dive the backline makes him a one-man wrecking crew. His poke damage is also decent and even if he gets caught there's not much an enemy team can do.
  • Tahm Kench [Top] - Kench is here to serve as a secondary front line and also as a form of peel for anyone who gets caught by enemy crowd-control. His laning power is also solid and difficult to cheese.
  • Janna [Support] - When you're up against a team as offense based as this one, picking up the best disengage support in the game is always a good idea.
  • Ezreal [Marksman] - As the strongest poke mage in the game, Ezreal fits in nicely with this comp and synergizes with Xerath well. On the other hand, he probably shouldn't get into any duels with Xayah since her burst damage is so much stronger than his unless he gets fed early.
Overall this team is also very strong.
