This patch reflects a lot of the same high tier choices as before, but with the introduction of Irelia and Swain into the mix. These two champions have been absolutely tearing up the rift along with familiar faces like Vladimir and Viktor rising back into the mix.

This patch reflects a lot of the same high tier choices as before, but with the introduction of Irelia and Swain into the mix. Instructions and Caveats:

• This tier list details which champions are most popular in today's current metagame, for better or for worse. Selecting a high popularity champion and doing mediocre is always favorable to selecting a low tier champion and doing mediocre for team morale.

God Tier: These champions are common bans and are likely perceived as being "overall extremely strong/broken". They have very obvious and/or flashy skills that make them appear stronger than other champions. You'll likely see these champions picked early on if they're not banned.

Tier 1: These champions are the ones you'll see in the majority of your games and are good to familiarize yourself with as you'l be battling against them a lot.

Tier 2: These champions are relatively strong and have historically been picked more often than other champions. They may have been nerfed at one point at another, but are still perceived as strong in their current states.

Tier 3: These champions aren't quite as popular as the rest of the champions in the first 3 tiers, but picking them one at a time isn't going to cause much of a concern on your team. However, if you have a team of 5 of them your teammates are likely to feel a bit uneasy about your chances of winning in solo queue.

Tier 4: Selecting these champions will likely cause a rift between you and your teammates, who will proceed to flame you if you fail your lane. Exercise caution when selecting these champions, as team morale often plays a big part in victory or defeat.

Champion Explanations

• Illaoi [Tier 1 Top] - After buffs to Illaoi in Patch 6.11 and 6.10, Illaoi is considerably stronger the before. The cooldown reduction on her Harsh Lesson (W) in Patch 6.10 gives her considerably more power early to mid-game, and the percentage damage they gave her in Patch 6.11 makes her dueling power through the roof. 
• Irelia [God Tier Top] - The new Trinity Force by itself is incredibly good on Irelia, and quickly shot her up to a God Tier, must-ban level. Even if they do nerf Trinity Force, the new Wit's End is also extremely good on her, especially against AP champions like Rumble or Zac.
• Malzahar [Tier 1 Mid] - After Malzahar's nerfs, he's still being banned a decent amount, but otherwise is not getting picked up much even when he is not banned. He's strong, but not overwhelmingly strong as some of the other picks this patch.
• Nautilus [Tier 2 Top] - After the tank meta died out, Nautilus quickly sunk back to the depths. As a result, you don't see him around much anymore.
• Swain [God Tier Top] - The Rod of Ages and Zhonya's changes during the mage update combined with a few buffs in Patch 6.10 brought him up to extremely high levels of popularity. Even the nerfs in Patch 6.11 were not enough to keep him down, and he remains a high priority ban in the current meta.
• Taliyah [Tier 2 Mid] - After the latest buffs to Taliyah, she is now relatively balanced in terms of playtime. She doesn't offer any incredible amounts of burst damage, but deals excellent poke damage coupled with good roaming utility.
• Vladimir [Tier 1 Mid/Top] - Vladimir is currently one of the more feared AP mages on the rift. He is one of the few "hyper carry" mages that is unstoppable late game, and is a good replacement for Swain if they ban the bird.
• Volibear [Tier 1 Jungle] - A little while back, nobody played Volibear. However, after continuous encouragement by some popular streamers, Volibear is seeing much more play these days as a jungler. He is extremely durable and difficult to kill, all the while dealing decent damage with a pure tank build.
• Zac [Tier 1 Jungle] - Zac jungle has the ability to gank from many positions where other junglers have no chance of succeeding. As a result, he's good for surprisingly enemy laners. His only drawback is that the majority of his damage comes from his skillshot, which means if you miss that then you lose a massive chunk of your burst.
