Hi everyone, and welcome back to the Combo Review series! It's been a busy few weeks, but I'll be getting back into the swing of things shortly. I know there are still a few things on the to-do list, which will all be updated in due time.

Meanwhile, let's jump right in to this week's combo!

Introduction

Hi everyone, and welcome back to the Combo Review series! It's been a busy few weeks, but I'll be getting back into the swing of things shortly. I know there are still a few things on the to-do list, which will all be updated in due time.

Meanwhile, let's jump right in to this week's combo!

Main Goal

Nunu's Absolute Zero (R) channels for 3 seconds, followed by an insane maximum of 1125 + 250% AP in magic damage in an AOE damage (90-second cooldown)

For comparison, Syndra's Unleashed Power deals 180 + 20% AP per sphere. This means that having three spheres out plus the three that her ultimate generates (six total #math) deals 1080 + 120% AP in single target damage (80-second cooldown).

Needless to say, that's an INSANE amount of damage if you can get a full channel...from Nunu.

Why Bard + Nunu Works

Bard's Tempered Fate (R) puts enemies into stasis for 2.5 seconds upon impact.

Conveniently, this is just about enough time for Nunu to do a fully channeled ultimate.

Get the picture?

Alternative Tactics

If Bard's ultimate is off cooldown, there's still an alternative method that works almost as well, which the extended "Empire" move, first made famous by the team Empire (later moved to M5).

How this works:
  • Bard baits several enemies to follow him through his Magical Journey (E);
  • Enemies find a fully channeled Nunu ultimate on the other side; and
  • Profit.
Other champions that could potentially help Nunu pull off a fully channeled ultimate are:
  • Urgot via his Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser (R); and
  • Blitzcrank via his Rocket Grab (Q).

Potential Difficulties

The main difficulty here will be getting into range to channel Nunu ultimate without getting hit by Bard's ultimate as well. Because of this, Nunu will likely need to use Flash to maximize his damage potential.

The other difficulty is of course the fact that this combination is very ultimate reliant as Nunu deals low burst damage without his ultimate.

Conclusions

This combination is quite fun if you manage to get ahead and build AP as Nunu. While the alternative tactic may work a few times, smart enemies will soon catch on.

However, using both ultimates at once guarantees a nearly full-channeled Nunu ultimate on whatever poor sucker you find glowing bright gold.
